"Love Again" movie - Official Topic

I for one didn't expect a single thing from this movie or her acting debut.

 

It's just funny how they use her name to sell the movie.

That's all.

 

 

It not 12 minutes altogether. Its spanned throughout the film, and obviously Céline isn't the main character, what else did you expect?

I think if Celine were better and never sick at all the movie would still struggle to find its way given the kind of movie and competition. The fact Celine is sick and can’t even do one interview does not bode well. The shelf life of this at the box office might be two weeks

I could be wrong but the movies budget based off of the clips we’ve seen so far doesn’t seem to be that huge. You’re right it could still be considered a success as long as it grosses more than it cost, it’s a winner.

Isn’t Celine only an Emmy and Tony away from the EGOT status?

Does her Oscar for MHWGO count? If this is true and she gets better she needs to hit broadway whether she likes it or not lol…. Too close to not get that shot! ( I remember her saying before she wouldn’t ever do it)

Celine was the singer for two Oscar winning songs - BATB and MHWGO. And she was the singer for other Oscar nominated songs like BYLM and The Prayer. But yes, the actual Oscar goes to the writers.

I just looked and no signs of any promotion so far next week on American television

 

Jimmy Fallon, Kelly Clarkson, The View, The Talk, Jennifer Hudson, GMA and Sherri! All announced their lineups ofc no Love Again cast.

 

Jimmy Kimmel is yet to announce next week but I’m sure they are just gonna let it go unprompted here in North America.

Probably not, but I hear the Academy likes biopics. Maria Callas, anyone?

 

About her "acting", though. I feel I already know the type of performance, delivery, and screen presence I'm going to get from Celine. I think it will feel very recognisable and very Celine -- I don't expect to be surprised, but the value is in the emotional impact she will have by sharing her own story/wisdom on film.

I don’t know how they consider her a main character, this is definitely a supporting character/role.

They push her name because they are trying to use her as a selling point…. Even every preview and trailer on tv says at the end “Featuring 5 New Songs from Celine Dion” that’s how desperate they are trying to get all the fans in the cinema, usually saying new music would suffice they make it clear it’s “5” as in multiple lol.

 

also, they moved up the release date to May 4 and the soundtrack still releases here the 12th, I have a theory they didn’t change that either because they want fans to go to the theater and watch the movie to hear anything new before the album is out.
