I’m still hoping we see a lot of good stuff for the promo in the next couple of weeks.

 

Movie opens in 6 days, here in the us I wonder if the bulk of the promo will be internationally and not here in North America. It’s like they gave up on this market and are counting on the easier market.

I guess that’s why they’re cashing in on highlighting Nick Jonas all the time in the promo… since he’s probably the biggest current star in the US who is in the film.

It’s been a tricky situation — with Celine’s health. I’m sure they were hoping she would be well enough to promote the film by pushing it from February to May. I don’t blame them whatsoever.

 

I agree with what another person said… that this film will be a grower over time. In the coming months and years, more and more people will discover it. If it doesn’t do well at the box office, it’s not the end of the road. It will take on another life once it’s streaming.

 

I hope we see some more fun promo now that it’s just around the corner. And I’m going to try to relax… and just enjoy the music and film. We’ve waited for so long.

 

Regarding Celine’s health, I hope she is improving. And I’m still hoping for at least a quick video message that they can use on all the morning shows, etc. But no big deal if not.

Yes all 3 of them, this really is probably the worst market for a movie containing these 3 actors.

Not sure why anyone was expecting anything more than 15 minutes tops. She isn't the main character. They are just using her name to help sell the movie (which isn't working really).

In was expecting less screen time than that, so pleasantly surprised. But I was not expecting her lines to reference her personal life in such detail though. Curious to see how it plays.

 

Anyway, at least Sony’s financials for the year (released today) were OK because the movie they’re releasing this week…

I would've thought that Sam Heughan was know in the US as Outlander has such a huge following

Not sure why anyone was expecting anything more than 15 minutes tops. She isn't the main character. They are just using her name to help sell the movie (which isn't working really).

 

More than fifteen minutes if you count all her music being played and all the scenes where they talk about her.

 

I haven’t seen the German film, but if the movie is following a general plot formula for a romcom, I would assume Sam’s assignment will be introduced in the first 20 minutes. The press conference will happen in the first half of the movie, then he’ll spend some time researching her before the big interview (reading her bio/website, diving into her catalogue, etc.). His one-on-one interview(s) where he asks her advice will likely land right before the climatic ending. Céline will also likely play an integral part of the big finale (maybe that’s the phone call with Pri?) — so she will be ever-present in the film, even if she isn’t seen onscreen.

100% agreed. Celine is an integral part of the film just like Sam and Priyanka.

I know the German film has the singer perform at the end, I hope we get that and also that it isn’t included in the “on screen time”.

I like the fact Celine told the director NO to a line he wrote with her saying to the director “I wouldn’t say that”. Since she’s playing herself I’m glad she spoke her mind.

I know mate, it’s awful 😢. Very very sad. We just got to hope and prey that things will improve for her.

I’m holding out hope that she could very well be improving — just not ready to do anything other than focus on her health. It really hasn’t been that long since she made the announcement to deal with such a rare condition.

 

I’m glad to see Team Celine firing on more cylinders right now to promote the film and music.

 

As for Celine, I just hope she’s comfortable and surrounded by loved ones. And living a stress free life as best she can while she continues treatments.

It’s also a big comfort to me to know that she recorded the song Love Again in October. I feel like she will still be able to continue her career… even if it looks different.

It’s got to be tough on her boys, too. Lost their dad so young and now mum is seriously sick… it must be scary to a 12-year-old.

I really hate to speculate that Celine isn’t improving… we have no evidence to think that.

I know I’m repeating myself guys, but Celine and Sony have never been the best promoters of her work, she didn’t promote “courage” at all other than the tour which was a greatest hits tour whether we admit that or not.

 

Not promoting this movie doesn’t mean she isn’t improving, both can be true at the same time.

 

Pryianka and Sam haven’t really promoted yet either with television, and they use social media much more than Celine… Celine’s dog Bear is managing the social media pages as well as he/she can.

They specialize in award predictions but I guess have expanded to box office as well.
