One thing i would add;. The piano was too fast and with too many extra's while accompanying the singers. Would have been much graceful with Celine and Andrea plus An easy elegant piano arrangement and added violins and a cello. Don’t get me wrong - Lang Lang is obviously a great pianoplayer and wanted to show everything he can but a little less is more for this time.

i understand but that is why someone said - too many cooks in the kitchen. Of course he is great, i can easily hear that but the five of them all together is too much imo.

now i have seen this i hope Celine surprises us with more songs from her homestudio. It is so beautiful and i hope there will come a time that we can go and see her in concert again. If needed they can reschedule the tour to 2022. i can wait if that is needed.

Weird thing though that in the reactions most people praise gaga's part. i think she did - okay - but nothing more. She misses the finesse and Grace imo

Lovely! RC helped Celine out with the setup of that performance for sure, which is great because Celine was able to take part in this history making special to help support those working on the front lines and everyone effected by Covid 19. I looks as though Celine used RC's studio equipment from when he was in his rapping phase. Good thing he's musical like his Mamma. I hope this new experience of performing from home all pro like is now giving Celine some creative ideas, like making an album from home?

 

I don't know why so many are bashing Lady Gaga's performance. I thought she did a great job. It's obvious that Lady Gaga is clearly a Celine fan, from the way Gaga praised her when Celine came to see her show and said such lovely things about Celine to her audience that night. It's just one Diva paying respects to another Diva. I thought they all did a lovely job!

 

That being said. The song is clearly better with only two singers or as a solo. Like someone else mentioned, there were too many cooks in the kitchen.

A song with that much vocal and celebrity firepower was obviously going to be reserved for the climax of the long day of music. It was immediately preceded by the evening’s biggest solo star, Taylor Swift, who sang an equally emotional but less upbeat ballad, the cancer-themed “Soon You’ll Get Better.”

 

Songs of uplift filled much of the two hours, whether it was Keith Urban covering Steve Winwod’s “Higher Love” or Legend and Smith singing Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me.” Billie Eilish and Finneas revived a ’60s classic that gets fewer revivals now, “Sunny.” But the Rolling Stones had split-screen fun with the more practical message of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Holy crap, I can somewhat deal with Lady Gaga, but what the hell is John Legend even doing? Who thought it would be a good idea to include him? Gaga and John should have stayed far away from this song. Mess.

Celine's voice sounded on top! I didn't like Andrea's vibrato that much this time and Gaga did decent... but I sometimes have difficulties with her 'musical voice'. John Legend was a mess... Not even interested in doing his part. And his performance with Sam Smith.... sat on the piano with all the awards behind him... Was it necessary?

 

One thing I've realized from my 50m2 apartment shared with another guy... It doesn't comfort me at all to see all those privileged people singing from their big and high-tech houses, talking about we're in this together...

 

BTW, Celine's performance is going to be the most viewed by far, so at the end, it was a bold move to this version.

It was a good idea until u brought up Josh Groban. If someone will do this editing id add more Celine (if they were her lines) if not more Andrea.

 

Celine most probably recorded the entire song. it’d be nice if it leaked haha

Overall pretty good. Too bad parts of the song were cut, but better than no Celine appearance. Hoping for a real duet with Gaga eventually.

I hadn't planned on watching the show last night but I ended up doing a video chat with friends that were watching. We were all waiting for Céline and Andrea. I quite enjoyed the performance. The one part I found funny was when a friend who absolutely loves The Prayer said "Celine and Andrea were wonderful, Gaga made it different and John, don't know why he was there". Poor John Legend.
