New Las Vegas residency show!

I just checked her page in the RW website… they took down her statement about the spasms and it just says check back for future dates now. It also says her dates as "permanent"… so who knows what they're doing.

 

I hope she'll be back later this year in Vegas, so she can back into the 'bizz' again. And it if all shows goes well, it will give me more confidence for the European dates next year.

They just announced shows for Luke at the end of November into December. It really looks like they’re leaving November open. So we’ll see. And this is trivial, but they moved Celine’s name up from the bottom to in the middle of the page, between Katy and Luke, now with the “dates to be announced thing…”. So it could be that they’re preparing her chronologically or maybe I’m just reading into it too much. Only time will tell.

Surely Céline’s number 1 priority at the moment, in terms of performing, should be getting well enough and prepared for the European tour given all the postponements that has experienced. Vegas shouldn’t even be a thought until the European tour has finally has been completed.

I mean, the initial announced shows were only 4 total weeks worth, with two months in between, before she was off for 2 months pre tour, and then 7 months on tour. So it wouldn’t surprise me. I’m not expecting it or even thinking it’ll happen, but if it did, it wouldn’t shock me.

Was just playing around on RW website and they do now have her in the front row with the rest of the artist, But also Ive notice is that I was playing around to see what kind of VIP Packages for KATY Perry , and some of them are for a M&G and a few others things that go with it , they want $$ 2,000 if and when celine does come back I wonder if they will include that one for her as well

And even nicer to discover her merch in the store!! Some Courage stuff a FIY face shirt.. Cant wait to come back when she finally starts!!

I remember that the boutique at Caesars Palace had lots of Celine Dion merchandise. I would be nice if the store at resorts world Is like that.

This was exactly the plan in 2021-22 though. There were 21 shows scheduled from November 5 to February 5 with the tour resuming March 9. I see this being the same plan if she ends up returning this November. But I agree that it wouldn't be worth launching the residency with only 10 shows before doing 50 tour dates next year. I think 20 makes it worthwhile, and a great way to make a comfortable return to the stage if her health permits. Edited June 15, 2022 at 12:50 AM by brendanm999

If she is gonna do RW shows in Nov, what is the latest they could realistically announce it? I don’t really know the Vegas timings for ticket sales etc

 

Had a look on the website there, the 4 week gap in Nov sticks out like a sore thumb. Hoping it could be for Celine but I’m not convinced yet.

Part of me thinks she would be itching to get back to any stage at all as soon as she feels ready. She probably feels bad enough for the fans by this point that, if she were ready health wise, she woud contemplate squeezing some Vegas shows in there. Who knows?

 

I think she has enough worldwide demand that she could fill up a small cluster of November dates at the drop of a hat.

I think that RW is hoping, and her team is hoping and she is probably hoping that Céline will be fit enough to do this. I truly hope so!

My expectations for the new show are beyond low. I expect it to be nothing more than a cross between "Celine" and the "Courage World Tour" with a couple new, random covers thrown in that will sound like a karaoke bar performance. Let's face it, Celine has never been one to be overly-creative. She's always relied on others to do that part.

Flash-forward to 1994, when Dion started closing her shows with a new take on Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Parker called as soon as he heard it.

“He says, ‘I’ve heard that song so many times since Elvis died, and I never heard it like that,’ ” Angelil told Time magazine. “ ‘I’m a consultant for the Hilton, and she’s never played Las Vegas. I want her at the Hilton.’ ”

Angelil had to demur, saying his client was still new to American audiences and wasn’t yet ready. Dion did, however, dedicate the song to Parker when he was in the audience that summer during her Las Vegas debut, opening for Michael Bolton at the Thomas & Mack Center.
