Posted this in the CWT thread also. A written message Celine sent to the Quebec government in London for their anniversary. Interesting that she says ‘return to the world stage’ and that she would see London very soon… hopefully a good sign!

If she is really returning this fall they had better be announcing shows here soon. People already weren’t happy she had to cancel, so if she waits too late to announce them it won’t give people enough time to make ticket plans.

So, I've been keeping a RW calendar of when Katy, Carrie, Luke, etc are performing. As of now, the entire month of November is wide open, except the week after Thanksgiving when Luke returns to the theatre. I'm urging caution when it comes to those free dates as Katy returns to the theatre tomorrow and I'm expecting dates to drop for her for the end of the year, either those open November dates or just before New Years (which for her would be perfect as that's when she opened her show). IF, and this is a biggie, those November dates stay open, I think we'll have a very good idea of when Celine could very well return.

 

EDIT: I just looked again. Katy finishes up a run in October. I think November may very well be when Celine may return. My hope is those first two weeks so I can get out there before peak begins at work and we're officially limited on our paid days off until after the first of the year.

I just can’t wait to hear her voice voice. Every time she has had a break it has changed and usually for the better. I also can’t wait to see her smile!

 

95% better health is really good news. As others have said, I hope she does a few interviews to discuss what happened and her journey to recovery. It’s these types of stories that inspire others.

I’d say a solid 90-95% of DeuxMoi’s submissions are from insiders/people with sources inside of the business. And around the same number come true. Deuxmoi is often the first person to confirm new albums, new brand releases, new tours, actors/celebs love life’s and major life/career announcements. If it’s being corroborated by Vital Vegas that also adds another layer of accuracy to me, as they predicted and had it down to fine details about Celines return to Vegas months before the formal announcement

I very much hope that Celine’s show will feel grand enough for her, considering she’s the Queen of Vegas. It’s more important to get her comeback right than to rush her onstage before the shows’s ready.

I can already see her trying to do the shows later this year, crap hitting the fan, and then everything falling apart again. I'm in no way trying to be overly dramatic. Wow !!! some pretty bad choices as openers ( but i agree with flying on my own would need a good remix to work as opener). As Celine made quite a lot of bad choices lately (she chose IACBTMN as an opener which is a terrible choice), your wish might come true.

 

My choice for openers would be :

- Just a little bit of love (with a choir) (just imagine : the choir starts to sing (harmonizing in a gospel way) and then you hear Ooh OOh Ooh Yeah juuuuuuuuuust a little bit of looo-oo-ooove yeah "Come On ...... (name of the city) sing with me")

- The Hard Way (the first notes of the song and the rhythm of the song are just perfect to open the show)

- Right in front of you (but the song is not very well known)

 

In the new show i would love to have a "dance section" with a good production i think Flying on my own / Refuse to dance (remix) and Reveal would work perfectly.

I wish she would not be scared of totally rework her songs

I think introduction, next plane out and loved me back to life (with an interesting intro) would work quite well as an opener, not so sure about the other songs. But in a way they would all work. Please Celine give us something amazing, special and most defenitely new with this show. All your songs are amazing, use them

Most of the never-performed songs had to be sung back then when they were released. What's the point to bring them up when obviously she can't sing them anymore ?

 

These songs have to remain as perfect as they were.

 

And this is no way to talk her down, this is just facts. Celine has already outlasted the other members of the trinity when it comes to vocal acrobatics and I'm sure it must be very hard for her to process the natural decline of her abilities. I mean she can't back up on her musical style ( like Mariah) or any "excuse" ( drugs for Houston).

 

She will be 55 when Courage Tour will resume . She and her fanbase really need to face it: she has to re-arrange her repertoire.

She was already struggling with "If you asked me to" already lowered-high notes 3 years go...

 

She hinted - I mean the only time she talked about her new residency - at new versions of her songs. She won't be able to fake it and fool her audience for another decade : her mimed versions of TPOL; IACBTMN, ABM can"t stay as they are when she will be 60. They need to move and she needs to sing them live reworked.

 

That's her challenge right now but her team sucks and her fans only thinks of difficult songs out of the blue...

 

I don't know what is her (vocal/mind) state right now : Has covid/illness shifted a bit of her perception of her craft?

 

One thing for sure : the first thing we hear about her return is linked to her wardrobe and this is not a good sign for what I care about Céline. :-D

I don't think we will experience the slighest change and that will be one (long) missed opportunity .

After having gone through everything that she/we have, coming back as before would be very disappointing but getting ready for it : I don't have any trust in her and her team when it comes to getting out of her comfort zone...

LMBTL would be great considering what she’s been through and the fans sticking by her but maybe with a slightly different arrangement.

 

TTWII would be a great opener too if don’t correctly with the lighting for the intro of it.

We don't know her vocal condition right now, but I hope she will take some vocal lessons before Vegas and the Tour. You are right, she can't fool the audience and fans with playbacktracks from 30 years ago anymore. She must find a setlist that suits her current/mature voice. I think she can sing Where Is The Love, Love Is On The Way, Call The Man or Nothing Broken But My Heart with her current voice. And yes Only One Road would be amazing but I think only a lower key, stripped down version would work nowadays.
