The song is good whether due to your personal taste you like it or dislike it. It has potential and it's a catchy song. Also personally I like how it lyrically introduces this new chapter in Celine's life.

 

But why yall acting surprised with the streaming and iTunes positions? They're very normal. Celine hasn't promoted the song, Sony hasn't promoted the song and Celine isn't a streaming force. There's no way a song can work on its own like it works with artists like Taylor Swift.

Well, no matter how massive her promo is, if the promoted material is poor, boring and totally B-side, it doesn't make any difference, right? The whole world got really disappointed after her poor ESC "performance".

 

the esc thing was a matter of wrong settings in the autotune. You can easily hear that her voice went all over the place. That aside in all of her released songs there is heavy autotune on her voice.

Plus her last song is sooo dark and strange..

Celine on the other hand can do much better. Just release that studioversion Celine!!!

And yet, judging by the convo here, Sony is apparently to blame for poor streaming / YT views / download numbers?

Perhaps it's just not that good a song...

 

it is a good song but in its current setting it does not come over! for a edm the beat is meh because they played it live. Would she release that studioversion it would have far more potential.

I have a question guys. The music industry changed so much, it's all about streaming and digital music now, so why do artists need record labels? They can pay for the production of their own albums themselves and just release them cashing all the money for themselves, and not for a record company. Moreover, they can do and release whatever they want without any obligations

When I see it summarized like that it feels so clear - Céline get yourself a new team!!!

 

I'm still royally miffed we still only have the live version. Also, already starting to fall on iTunes in the states (down to 85).

And if the statement or hearsay on Sony /Record label not allowing it to be released then I suspect it was not chosen as the first single so they don't want the studio version out, but said "well if you want to release a live version from Vegas go ahead." I could see that being done. Mind out, still feels backwards as hell to me.

 

Everything just seems all over the place. You announce a Courage World Tour with a Vegas image poster (no new shoot). Then they tease the new song in the promo tour video (studio version--sounds great) .....then nothing for a month and Car Pool Karaoke and out of the Blue James playing another "new song" and says 'so that's your new song" and no title, no release date , nothing. LOL. Fast forward now to June and we get a live version from Vegas of a song we get a clip of back in April.

 

The whole thing seems just bonkers. Here we are June 11 summer about to begin and nothing. Artists don't do much promo from here on in with summer vacations starting and not much daytime TV, etc. So I feel it's over now until the fall.

 

It's just so exhausting as a fan! LOL.

I’m sorry but can you tell me when did she release the studio version? I think she’d need to drop it first, then promote it... cause expecting a LIVE song with poor production to do well in streaming services is a joke, thank god they’re not promoting it

We can only hope there will be more EDM tracks on this album. But judging by the past this probably will be the only track on the album that sounds like this. Sadly, coz I think the right spot for Céline's voice right now would be on the dance floors.

She does not take this seriously now, and neither should you. Just enjoy her - that voice is still in top shape and she’s capable of performing and singing circles around artists half her age.

 

I wouldn't say that she doesn't take it seriously, otherwise she'd have put together an album quick and be done with it. She wouldn't want to plan a great and beautiful tour for the fans.

 

Not expecting to chart high or have the sales she had in the 90's is one thing. Being more relaxed about it and just doing music she likes doesn't equate to not taking it seriously imo.

Miss "I Will Survive" and "I Am What I Am" both from Gloria Gaynor, though. And "I Surrender" from Céline - it's of surrendering to forbidden love, giving up the fear of what people might think of that and step out into the (shaky) unknown. How could they forget!! That song and "Love Doesn't Ask Why" are the two Céline songs that are the most "pride-ish" for me.

 

And IACBTMN - don't get that choice.... replace it with IS ffs.

As it was first release as MV, it's even worse : it means that people didn't like it enough to play it again on streams.
