I read in one of the YouTube comments... Discussion regarding whether this is actually the studio version or not.

One guy wrote that he heard the actual studio version in the after party and that he has a recording of the moment when it's being played in the party!

How did they play the studio version if it's not released?!

it'snot that difficult.. this song and probably the whole album is dancing around a lot of sony offices...they used the studio version for the tour video annoucement and if they just ask it for that private party... ...

In the other hand..yesterday morning.. laying down.. trying to do something with my poor abs on the gym.. I listen (again) FOMO on spotify and its really edited.. if you watch the live phone recordings... it's "live" but with a little bit of editing... so for me it's cool.. as I said before.. this kind of song.. I don't need anything "live"...

I have a question guys. The music industry changed so much, it's all about streaming and digital music now, so why do artists need record labels? They can pay for the production of their own albums themselves and just release them cashing all the money for themselves, and not for a record company. Moreover, they can do and release whatever they want without any obligations

Still.. Is it hard to release the studio version. I mean, it's much better. I think more people will stream it and buy it. The studio version is the right version for edm and modern people knows how edm music sounds like/what should it sound like.

 

I'm sure she wants all people to listen to her new single, not only for the fans. See how anxious-excited she was. But I have feeling that before she starts her London concert. They'll release the studio version of FOMO.. I hope

 

Personally I disagree with any of her studio stuff being superior. I dislike her studio stuff. Too much layering, editing, effects... I just prefer her live, and without music or any other distractions if at all possible.

I'm still royally miffed we still only have the live version. Also, already starting to fall on iTunes in the states (down to 85).

 

Sigh. Her team is beyond comprehension.

 

And if the statement or hearsay on Sony /Record label not allowing it to be released then I suspect it was not chosen as the first single so they don't want the studio version out, but said "well if you want to release a live version from Vegas go ahead." I could see that being done. Mind out, still feels backwards as hell to me.

 

Everything just seems all over the place. You announce a Courage World Tour with a Vegas image poster (no new shoot). Then they tease the new song in the promo tour video (studio version--sounds great) .....then nothing for a month and Car Pool Karaoke and out of the Blue James playing another "new song" and says 'so that's your new song" and no title, no release date , nothing. LOL. Fast forward now to June and we get a live version from Vegas of a song we get a clip of back in April.

 

The whole thing seems just bonkers. Here we are June 11 summer about to begin and nothing. Artists don't do much promo from here on in with summer vacations starting and not much daytime TV, etc. So I feel it's over now until the fall.

 

It's just so exhausting as a fan! LOL.

I think they release the live version to close the vegas era and when the promo of the tour/album begin, they will release the studio and remix for the summer.

Me.. it depends on the genre. If Ballads.. I prefer the "Live" version. But if it's uptempo/more pop like I'm Alive, That's The Way It Is, EDMs.. I prefer the studio track. They can't give it justice when doing it Live (Instrumentals/Arrangements) it sounded flat

Reading his review I did not take away from it that he thinks it’s dated at all.

 

He’s actually said it’s the best thing she’s released in a decade. The point he is making is regardless of what Celine releases radio won’t play it unlike the 90s when they played everything.

Remember, Celine’s music stuff is now just a hobby for her. It’s not her team’s incompetence, or Sony, or anything else. It’s her. She has other interests and other passions and she’s established, awards won, albums sold, etc. She can do or not do as she pleases. I find myself repeating it a lot on the forum but I really do think you guys need to stop comparing her to other artists today or even herself from 20 years ago. She does not take this seriously now, and neither should you. Just enjoy her - that voice is still in top shape and she’s capable of performing and singing circles around artists half her age.

Yeah! while her voice is still in "Top Shape", if i were her i will not waste it. Celine's music stuff is just hubby for her now? LOL If you can see or sense how excited she were when she's about to perform live her new song on stage. I think it's not hubby. She wants this album to work too. You don’t have to believe it. She has, however, all but said this repeatedly in recent years. The first time I heard her say this was in the pressroom at the BBMAs in 2013. She was asked about awards being important and she said something about how she doesn’t live for that. Then she explained, using a ladder reference, that she climbed the ladder of success to the top then decided to come down to the bottom and enjoy her life. She states that she does this “for fun” only.

 

So again, you don’t have to believe it even though she said it or the actions prove it. Not that music isn’t important to her.. it is, and she loves to sing and perform. But these comparisons about timing of releases and downloads and live vs studio.. I’m just trying to help get across what she has already made clear: it doesn’t matter much.

And I find it funny some of you kept referencing to Madonna and her promo.... yes her promo is def way better than Céline, BUT frankly: she [Madonna] needs it.

Her albums haven't been selling well for ages now and now different reports have been surfacing that her upcoming tour is selling poorly...

And that with "excellent"(?) promo...........

Right. And that shows (good) promo isn't everything. It's also about image.

Céline's image these days is just excellent. Even if she farts, people love it (180 degrees turnaround than a decade ago).

And yet, judging by the convo here, Sony is apparently to blame for poor streaming / YT views / download numbers?

Perhaps it's just not that good a song...
