Jeanette Posted June 15, 2019 at 12:23 PM Posted June 15, 2019 at 12:23 PM (edited) Just asked Alexa to play FOMO as a bit of light relief from my 16 year old nephew requesting everything from BTS to Eminem. My nephews words when I requested it were “I don’t like Celine Dion” but after the first chorus he said “How new is this?, cos it’s actually quite good!”. Makes me believe it could have been so much more if it had been promoted properly and dare I say it, having released the studio version and remixes. Oh well, another wasted opportunity, just hope they get everything else right with promotion for new album, going forward. Edited June 15, 2019 at 12:39 PM by Jeanette 4 Quote

AdrienneM Posted June 15, 2019 at 12:49 PM Posted June 15, 2019 at 12:49 PM Well to be fair, its not as if shes went out of her way to do any promo whatsoever. Youre all acting as if shes announced it as her lead single and has went on a promo campaign... it was obviously just something for the fans, possibly as a farewell to the Vegas era and a hello to the Courage era 5 Quote

I also cannot see why they didn’t give us the studio version as a gift/thank you to the fans. It seems a waste if the studio version never sees the light of day. Why not just release a live dvd or live stream the last show from Vegas as a thank you to the fans and keep the dawn of the new era completely separate? Why not just release a live dvd or live stream the last show from Vegas as a thank you to the fans and keep the dawn of the new era completely separate? Because shes in a transition period. Its too early right now, the entire media is on about vegas so she needs to wait for that to die down a little so that the focus can transition to new music when it comes out. The MV and studio version will come, we just need to wait for the old era to be done with first. BST is the perfect platform. She can release the studio version and the MV then and do a small promo tour in europe with some pre recorded American ones without having to put in much effort, she can be back in Montreal for mid July her holiday and rehersals 2 Quote

It's because of one song in Portuguese (with a collab with Anitta from Brasil who is a huge streaming force) that is being streamed a lot in Brasil. That's the one song that is doing well in ONE market - so this won't have an impact on US charts or in other countries, except maybe in Portugal. Edited June 15, 2019 at 06:31 PM by Xpresso 1 Quote

Just sounds to me like a whole lot of denial. Why do you keep pushing this on all social media lol the reactions have been extremely positive.Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's the general consensus or some universal truth. The song isnt taking off (and might not, even though I really hope it somehow gets some good numbers) because no one is promoting it and because she's extremely small at streaming. Pandora or even Spotify or whoever else tweeting about it doesn't mean a thing. She won't suddenly get 1m streams because it got 2 tweets lmfao. Popular Post Holborn Posted June 15, 2019 at 07:59 PM Popular Post Posted June 15, 2019 at 07:59 PM The truth is somewhere in the middle. Celine's fanbase is wide and diverse. Certainly there are fans that don't like this type of music, fans that prefer the "old" Celine, fans that only care about her french songs etc. Her older fans are usualy people who don't prefer this music genre and they also don't really use streaming platforms. Celine is not mainstream. She can't release something and instantly gather millions of views. Many people like her and her music, but they don't actively search for her newest content. Many people, that don't like her, like EDM and might like this song. If they had released a studio version with a video clip, had done minimum to zero promo and had sent the song to radio stations, then we could know whether or not the public would have liked the song. Given the situation, we can't assume anything. If TC's goal was to release this song as a farewell to LV and a gift to the fans, it's fine. Maybe they expected more theirselves as well. Maybe they saw the Carpool's success and thought that FOMO would be streamed more than it does. If FOMO was the song used in the carpool and, even better, was released at that point (live or not), it would have had much more success. The numbers really speak for themsleves. Carpool video has 30M+ in FB and 16,5M+ in YT. Short video has 8.5M+ in FB, almost 900K in YT (laughable) and 1,6M+ in her insta. It's obvious that her hardcore fans are not that many, hence the low views of the short carpool video and FOMO. Let's wait and see if they will ever decide to release the official song and what they are gonna do with it. But if they are not planning on promoting it and have already scratched it off, then please release the studio now. It won't matter anyway and we want to hear it! (in case anyone from her team reads this ) 12 Quote
alexceline Posted June 15, 2019 at 08:05 PM Posted June 15, 2019 at 08:05 PM (edited) ^^ this. And despite what we have all said at least once in our lives neither Sony nor team Celine are amateurs who don't know what they're doing. Even if TC isn't that used to the streaming era, she has the whole Sony machine behind her who know how to deal with that stuff. If they're not doing something it's because either them or Celine don't want to. As simple as that. Anyway just enjoy the song and complain when they actually release the first single and Celine is on promo tour and it doesn't go the way you want it. It's too early for so much complaining, she hasn't done anything yet lol Edited June 15, 2019 at 08:07 PM by alexceline 5 Quote
