Philippe Posted May 30, 2023 at 12:25 PM Posted May 30, 2023 at 12:25 PM I'm more inclined to believe this "close source" than the CNN one because the things they said are closer to what we've heard from Celine & her team directly. She's described her vocal ability as not being quite there yet (which she's done when canceling due to a cold virus), working w/ a trainer to regain her strength, not being at 100% (implying there's improvement), etc. The way she's described her illness also leads me to believe (or hope) that her case falls on the lighter end of the spectrum of SPS vs the severe and highly debilitating end. Perhaps it's also me trying to grasp at any positive future for her. I didn't know what to say after the news of the cancelation. My first reaction was relief because now she can focus on herself and not worry about having to make yet another announcement about a tour that was already dead. My second reaction was worry that she isn't getting better, and by better I mean enough to have some semblance of a normal life. Celine is not giving up, she's pushing, and keeping hopeful. Who are we to put out negative vibes? Maybe she can be that 1 in a million to get better. If not for her this disease would not have gotten the awareness it has now. Anything can happen. We can be realists while remaining hopeful. That’s also my understanding of the official statement. It has been carefully drafted. We have to read the words for what they say. 1 Quote

Also had another email about Birmingham, automatic refund and so much easier! Yeah I don't get this way of refunding! They got all your card/bank details! Why do you have to provide them again? Ok maybe if they have changed in the last couple of years, but you should be able to contact them only for that. Belgium is also by request, and if you don't do it within 30 days, you loose your money! That's theft to me! For Malta last year I requested the refund and got the money about 5 days later despite having changed my card and not having given new card details. I think the card companies are pretty efficient in that respect. Quote

RosieBarron Posted May 30, 2023 at 07:14 PM Posted May 30, 2023 at 07:14 PM Anyone spending their refund money on anything exciting? #positivesoutofnegatives Now there's a question. The Celine Dion saving scheme has worked out well for me, just rubbish interest rates on it. I am owed a fair amount and having spent the money in 2019 I am not currently missing it, so it does feel like I should do something interesting with it. 1 Quote

remykyes Posted May 31, 2023 at 03:14 PM Posted May 31, 2023 at 03:14 PM I know we're going to see her return to Resorts World. I bet we'll see dates announce for mid 2024 the end of the year , probably by November or Christmas Based on past practices, Celine will not announce anything until after the last canceled concert (which in this case would have been the final concert in London on April 22nd) has passed. Announcing anything, including a return to the stage, especially in Vegas, would be a slap in the face to all the fans who just had their concerts canceled. In no way, shape, or form am I saying Celine may not be close to returning. She very well could be. But for those of us who have followed her every step, every postponement, every cancelation, she is very rigid in her ways and, unfortunately, knowing her like we do, we won't hear a word from her until April 23rd of next year at the very earliest. 2 Quote New Signature Coming Soon!
smw Posted May 31, 2023 at 03:37 PM Posted May 31, 2023 at 03:37 PM I agree that we probably won’t get any announcement for new shows anytime soon. But I do hope we hear from her at least a couple of times over this next year — and I hope that Team Celine posts on her social media. 1 Quote
rfkavanagh Posted May 31, 2023 at 03:42 PM Posted May 31, 2023 at 03:42 PM The FranceBillet refund system is awful and doesn't work for those of us in the US. First, it won't accept an international telephone number, and second, the US doesn't use the IBAN system so I can't provide an IBAN (which is a mandatory field). Why can't they just refund to the card used to purchase the ticket? So annoying. Anyone else faced this issue and found a workaround or contacted them for instructions? My French isn't too bad for general conversation/understanding, but I'll have to Google Translate an email for more detailed banking discussion. Quote

Maybe but I think she covered herself on that by saying touring is hard even at 100%. A residency is a different concept than touring. 2 Quote

Their sources are clearly the same as ours: Celine’s social media, as in this whole article there’s not one information beyond what we were told in the cancellation of the tour. As to assume that she finds light on her kids, that’s just common sense, isn’t? 2 Quote

I dunno… normally yes, but by early ‘24 she will have lost 4 years. I feel she might want to get back to things as soon as she’s physically able to. Quote

Perhaps, but let's not forget that her situation is still completely new, physically and psychologically unprecedented. It's not "just another postponement" in a long series; it can disrupt the routines of even the most highly professional. Quote

incognito Posted June 1, 2023 at 01:42 PM Posted June 1, 2023 at 01:42 PM She’s already shown she can give a good show at a residency at 75%. Her 50% is probably better than the 100% of many. 😂 3 Quote
