couldawouldashoulda Posted April 2, 2021 at 10:34 PM Posted April 2, 2021 at 10:34 PM If you read the article, venues that seat up to 10,000 people can open to 10% capacity. Venues above that can open at 20% capacity. An article someone posted on here several months back with the head of AEG said they only break even if they sell a large tour like Celine's at 50% capacity so they would not, in any way, even think about starting the tour again until they could open at full capacity. Yes, there are plenty of caveats. And this is far from things going back to normal. But it’s a step, however small. 1 Quote

But it’s a step, however small. I got my first dose of Pfizer today. 3 weeks til dose 2 and then 2 weeks until I’m fully vaccinated. And then I am ready to get back to live music!! I just don’t think Celine-level music will happen for awhile. I figure jazz/cabaret venues here in NYC will be the first places to reopen. They’re talking about a few Broadway shows opening around Labor Day. It will take them a full year to get everything back and running though. I think, once Broadway is at full force, we’ll see touring start to happen again. 2 Quote

Niobio87 Posted April 3, 2021 at 03:23 AM Posted April 3, 2021 at 03:23 AM I think it’s great that Celine is having a break. She’s been a workhorse the last few years. It’s pointless comparing her to other artists. Yes Mariah and others have done loads during the pandemic and Celine has done nothing, but look at an artist like Adele who hasn’t done anything significant in the years before the pandemic. I do think they should be releasing stuff during the break and maybe Celine does need to be the driving force behind that, but as for appearances and at home gigs... I’m cool with her not doing them. She’s given me enough to keep me entertained 😄 I agree... Although I am upset about not getting new material, nor more buzz about the Falling into You anniversary, I think she has done a lot... She could do more? Yes, with very little effort!! Just a new album with rare songs, unreleased tracks, a live album... Just something to keep the fans waiting... But no... Let them have patience... thatstheteacherinmehbaby Posted April 4, 2021 at 05:11 PM Posted April 4, 2021 at 05:11 PM (edited) I wouldn’t count on it returning until next year. Many countries are halting use of the AstraZenaca vaccine due to fatal blood hemorrhages and blood clots. Still so much unknown. Haha, I would NOT even expect concerts to 100% be back NEXT YEAR! (& we all know @ this point not to expect ANYTHING for this year, lets face it 2021 is pretty much cancelled just like 2020 was, as there are still MILLIONS of people who are STILL not vaccinated yet in most countries, including here in the United States!) & nobody even knows the long term effects of the vaccines because they are new! So NONE of us, even the SCIENTISTS & DOCTORS who have created, tested, & studied about the vaccines, know how long will the vaccines work in giving long-term immunity to the coronavirus in a year from now, or even 6 MONTHS from now! So much is UNKNOWN about these vaccines (as they were created & shipped out sooo QUICKLY, & usually vaccines take YEARS to be created!) & again there are lots of people still waiting on their FIRST dose of the vaccines (including myself & my entire family including my elderly parents & relatives also still waiting!) & its already the month of April! At this rate, its so doubtful that vaccinations in most countries will even be completed by the end of this year, not @ the rate that most countries, including the U.S., are going with the vaccinations currently... Sorry but with the stuff I have been reading on the internet & hearing on the news, everything with this darn Pandemic is not looking so promising right now, Im just being honest... Celinelife Posted April 4, 2021 at 05:26 PM Posted April 4, 2021 at 05:26 PM (edited) In India, second wave has struck and all the shootings of movies and all are closed. There is a night curfew going on in the metropolitan cities. So the countries who think that they are free of the virus wait for it to come back 😂, as for the concerts they are less chances that they are coming back. thatstheteacherinmehbaby Posted April 4, 2021 at 05:40 PM Posted April 4, 2021 at 05:40 PM Before Biden came into office there was no vaccine plan at all. The Trump administration actually refused an offer for more vaccines to be distributed when they were first rolling out. Biden has been in office since January 20th, and has secured enough vaccines for every adult in the United States as of the end of May 2021. I would say that’s pretty incredible, and not moving at a snail’s pace. I’m sorry you are having trouble getting an appointment, but it’s going to get easier soon. And you have President Biden and his administration to thank for that. Sorry I know this reply is a few weeks late & sorry to sound like a "debbie downer" type of person here, but in my honest opinion, I DO NOT see the U.S. reaching the goal of "every adult vaccinated by the end of May", I just do not see it @ ALL!!!! Especially when there are STILL MILLIONS of people all over the country still waiting for their first doses!!!! The month of May is coming up VERY QUICKLY... it is the month of April already!!!! How in the heck will EVERY ADULT get both doses of the vaccine in 6-8 WEEKS from now when most people are not even vaccinated with their first doses much less the second doses!!!! Sorry but I just do not see it happening, I just dont!!!! Most states (including the state of Maryland where I am in,) are just starting in Phase 2 of the vaccinations (& are not even in Phase 3 yet, so how are we even going to reach that goal @ the END OF THIS YEAR altogether much less @ the end of the month of May!!!! Sorry but I just do not see it happening, my whole family, & myself included, are still waiting on our first doses, & the vaccines are 2 doses... Sorry but I am just being realistic... The vaccines need to be distributing much faster before we can reach any of those goals... @ this rate, every adult will not be vaccinated by 2022 the way we are currently going, sorry but being honest, calling as I see it... AdrienneM Posted April 4, 2021 at 08:40 PM Posted April 4, 2021 at 08:40 PM (edited) They’ve vaccinated... what? 150+ million people with the first dose in the US? And about 51 million (as of 6 days ago, announced by the CDC) fully vaccinated? Hence why Biden announced the 200 million in 100 days goal?... I don’t know... seems for once they’re actually tackling an issue with some aggression and there could be faster recovery than expected, or maybe I’m just still in shock about the fact that after 4 years of imbeciles, there’s now a competent administration in place Edited April 4, 2021 at 08:40 PM by AdrienneM 2 Quote

For many reasons that I do not wish to discuss on this forum @ the time being, it goes without saying lol... But as far as the "150+ million people vaccinated", hmmm I do not know where exactly that number came from (I am NOT saying you had made it up or anything, I am just curious about who did make up that number...) And I know it has been up to the individual states in some of the decisions during this Pandemic & all... BUT it just seems like there ARE some states that are way BEHIND in the process of the vaccinations... Such as where I live @ in the state of Maryland!! Here in Maryland, we have JUST started on Phase 2 this past week!! Phase 2!! & & I have read that numerous other states are just entering Phase 2 as well!! & it is the month of April now! May is only 1 month away from now, 1 month!! & both of the vaccines here in the U.S. - the Moderna & Pfiser vaccines - have to be given in 2 doses!! TWO!! So sorry for being skeptical, but I just dont see America reaching the goal of "every adult vaccinated by the end of May" when there are many (including myself, all of my co-workers & all of my adult family members,) who are still not vaccinated yet... I read today in the NYTimes that 4 million people alone were vaccinated yesterday. The 7 day average is 3 million people a day. As the ball continues to get rolling and things speed up, I'd say all people who want to be vaccinated should be so by August at the latest. That was the timeline given. Of course, not everyone will get vaccinated. And we'll all have to continue to wear masks. And, they're saying that the virus is smarter than they'd anticipated - it's mutating rapidly. That should only mean that, like influenza, we'll need to get booster shots every year. The entire world doesn't shut down during flu season, everyone is just more careful. The vaccinations should ensure that, even if someone does catch the virus, they'll have a lesser reaction to it and certainly not have to be hospitalized. Covid-19 may be a virus we learn to live with and, in that case, things could open fully/normal/pre-pandemic by 2022. Just like 9/11, things may just be forever changed: carrying around vaccination cards, wearing masks, plenty of hand sanitizer in every establishment. Yea but you are not thinking of the long term possibility of... Nobody knows how the vaccine will work in the long run, even if we take it once a year, how do we know if the vaccines really work? We have just started them & it has not even been a full year of anybody vaccinated... & really I also highly doubt majority of people will be able to afford to take 2 covid vaccines a year (or if the insurance will cover both shots each year, as the cost is covered for now, but it does not mean it will stay that way!) & sorry to say, but comparing this pandemic to the 9/11 terrorist attacks is TOTALLY DIFFERENT! Ok yes 9/11 did affect things... But definitely not on the scale of the Coronavirus Pandemic has all over the world! This Pandemic has affected pretty much every country in the world, Yes the world did stop for a few days after 9/11 happened... But not over a year like this pandemic has! Here we are over a year later, & thousands of businesses all over the world have shut down, millions of people all over the world have lost their jobs, no concerts, tours, broadway shows, movies in actual theaters, live events with actual people in the audience (yes sports games & a few reality shows such as "dancing with the stars" & "masked singer" did come back since last fall, but with CARDBOARD CUTOUTS in the audiences instead of actual people, to me that is not normal to have cardboard cutouts sitting in the seats lol!) & we are still NOT FINISHED with this Pandemic yet, nowhere near it even with vaccines! Like you said, we still have to wear masks, social distance 6 feet apart, etc... & guess what, concerts, sports games, movie theaters, broadway shows, etc are not going to have such a VERY TINY CAPACITY in the theaters/stadiums, it is NOT REASONABLE for them to do that with the way things are right now... No way! Even if they jacked up the costs of tickets to $1,000s of $$ higher or concerts, sports, etc, who in their right minds can afford that? Guess what, NOT MANY PEOPLE WILL! Especially in tough times like these where millions of people have lost their jobs, businesses, etc & are lucky to afford food, electricity, water, a roof over their heads, much less concert or sport tickets! I mean come on now! & sorry to say this, but like I have been saying since last year: things are NOT coming back to normal in 2021, concerts, live events with audiences, etc are not coming back this year... & nobody knows if everything will be 100% back to normal next year, right now it is a guess & there is no guarantee that 2022 will not be cancelked like like 2021 & 2020 has... Especially for a Celine Dion show which is so crowded it is impossible. India is having a second wave with 100,000 cases in one day which worse than the first. Other countries are also going through the same. And the people who are vaccinated with both the doses are also testing positive for COVID. 1 Quote
