Agreed 100%. Most of the songs on Courage are within her comfortable range so it shouldn't be hard for her to perform them on this tour. Celine and her team should take advantage of all these new songs because she rarely receives such quality music that are easy on her voice.

 

My gad, im already having goosebumps by the prospect of her singing at least 5 of these tracks live on stage besides the 1st four. I imagine it to be sublime and laidback yet dramatic at the same time.

 

These new songs are precious and a treasure. If she feels the need to lip a new song she just needs to pick a different new song instead. Plain and simple. End of story.

Everyone saying she should lip fomo, or the e in lying down. Or the belts in change your mind. Screw that. I will take imperfections, I will be stronger, for the lover, and say yes if it means we get a new song and live.

These are new songs, her voice should be comfortable with them. Save the playback for the required songs she isn't allowed to drop (basically the case tbh).

Maybe im crazy. I mean. I hate the setlist, i really do... but im probably gonna buy tickets to at least two more shows maybe 3 or 4 depending on some vacation time.

I don't mind the hits. Some are calling for BATB to be dropped. This is one of her biggest, and she hasn't toured with it since 1997 in the usa. For 2 minutes of celine original it can stay.

I don't mind lcmm and rdmh. At this point those two are what they are. (And to answer, someone asked when she hasn't sang lcmm - the very first two shows of the tour maybe three she did not sing it, only since 1992 though besides SLP08).

But 27 minutes of non album covers is appalling. Limit it to 6 minutes. That 21 minutes of change could seriously be the exact facelift the tour needs.

 

If you record some great videos again I will be very happy.

It is her second biggest French song after PQTME. This is why I called it smash hit. Sold like 500k in France alone and topped charts in Quebec and Belgium. And has been performed consistently throughout the years. I think Celine dropped the song due to Rene passing.

 

But she did sing it in 2017, 1 year after René passed so now it should be easier emotionally. I do have a feeling she will sing it in France, along with some more JJG songs. I hope.

I think it's her. She calls the shots at the end of the day as per interviews. It's now obvious she only listened to rene. She has such a strong personality (more than we realize) i dont think anyone in her team would try to reason with her about anything.

Thank you, it's emotional to watch her singing it, and see how much she is into it

she BELIEVES in this song's message.

 

Now imagine seeing her performing like that other new gems.

The show can turn to be something really amazing.

 

Sometimes I feel the people around her doesn't believe in this new Celine

and don't motiviate her to go for it and celebrate her new songs and just to enjoy it.

 

Also Grande Celine has her own fears whether something will work on stage or not,

and yes sadly, FOMO didn't work live, but nothing happen

they have so many other new songs to try on stage.

 

On this stage she should go only for songs that she can sing live

while enjoying it, without having to suffer, she doesn't have nothing to prove!

 

The LV jail mentality seems to make her scared to fully embrace her new materials

and thinking too much if the crowd will like it or not. Celine should take example from

Logically, she should sing 5 songs of "Courage". The 4 "singles": FOMO, Imperfections, Lying down and Courage + her favorite one of the album, or the favorite fan's one ("Look at us now" for me, but I would be ok with "Change my mind"). The dream would be the 4 singles + a medley of the rest of the album ("Look at us now", "Change my mind", "Heart of glass", "The hard way" and finish with a ballad like "For the lover that I lost", or "Say yes"...).

 

Casual audience just want to hear "My heart will go on" and "Pour que tu m'aimes enocre", maybe also "Because you loved me", "Encore un soir" (for French fans), IACBTMN. The other songs are not so great for casual audience!!! So she can easily replace them by those on "Courage"...

I can't prove anything, just sharing my own insights based on what I see so far

 

You're extremely right that she is having more control over things, more than we think

but imo that has nothing to do with motiviation and getting good and some cool ideas

when it comes to her setlist, that's a different story:)

 

I didn't think it's normal to go to a World Tour, shortly after the LV jail, but there are more aspects

that might take one motivation out when it comes to going out and touring, because if she had one

I'm sure we could see that from day 1 of this Tour, a better set of songs being performed

and not speaking about only the new songs but on the general setlist.

this courage tour is just about having the courage to not care about so many of her fans that brought her here who bought all of her albums, who came to her concerts every year, swallowed the same songs year after year after year, who are constantly ignored. Oh yes she delivered a great great album to please us but on tour she is greatest hits dion and all of that greatness, new album, new songs..no courage standing for that album. Even having the courage to come up with a medley of stupid covers. You are no karaoke artist Celine!

I love the Imperfections performance. But a total travesty that Lying Down is gone. The whole performance, lights, production and apart from her one squeaky ‘hear me now’ note, she sounded great and strong. A travesty to have lost one of the best moments of the tour while You’re the Twatting Voice, someone else’s 30 year old song, is still in there. Courage? Believe in your new songs and album. Throw away the friggin covers!!!

 

All I can hope, and I don’t think that’ll happen, that once they’re done with Montreal and in the US run proper, that they go for it with the new album.

 

I’ve edited this twice now cos I keep thinking more...the fact that she would rather sing You’re the Voice than another new song instead does say to me that she’s lazy. Utterly lazy. It’s nothing else. It’s all done, she has muscle memory learnt it and is Robo Céline. It does slap in the face of what she’s trying to emerge as. And irritates me. She can do what she wants but the fans want her songs, and paid lots to hear them.

I wish they take out the brass during that song. It's like they are trying to incorporate the brass in every song, when you don't necessarily have to.

Plus I am missing the bass! This live arrangement is lackbuster, her vocals are on point though

I do wonder what Scott’s involvement is when it comes to the set list? In my mind surely a musical director should be saying things like “You’re The Voice worked for our Australia tour and that special moment on stage with John but now it’s time to let it go.” Also “Me and the band have been working on incredible arrangements for Change My Mind and Say Yes if you’d like to hear them”

 

The set lists are obviously discussed before each and every show and Celine will obviously have the final say but it would be so good to know if ANYBODY is suggesting to her the things that we are such as less covers and more songs from Courage. We can’t be the ONLY people to see the problem can we?

Sorry. it is so frustrating that she makes us believe something completely new is on its way and in reality it is the same old setlist on a modern stage. Because that is new and it looks nice, that stage. but that is all there is.
