Didn't realise before I posted the first time! You're right. I didn't intend to argue or be mean towards Céline, just an opinion and a big IF.

This is getting utterly ridiculous now. Honestly, I grant I'm one of the harsh fans criticising Celine but always with respect and because I know she can do best. But that some fans here are always trying to excuse her all the time with what it seems to be one of her most stupid actions now, is really annoying. She cut one song and shortened ONE song. She did that on the 2017 TWICE. And again, i wouldnt expect men to understand the fact that her kids are all she has, they are her life, her babies, no matter what age they are, she clearly hates being away from them and its been at least 2 weeks, not to mention youve all been complaining saying shes sounded terrible and sick, so what if thats the reason she did shorten/cut them?

I suppose the thing that baffles me is the choices. If you’re going to shorten the show (for whatever reason) a discussion will need to be had with Scott I guess.

 

How was the decision reached it had to be LAEE and shorten PQTME - her biggest ever French song at a French concert. Surely, surely, Scott at this point should be saying “erm maybe You’re The Voice is the song we should be looking to cut in order to save time?”

If the reason was she wasn't feeling OK I totally understand, it can happen to any of us, she's human. I was commenting on the other issue, that may or may not be true. I don't believe it btw, considering the source

It's not the first time that she shortens the setlist. In Berlin 2 years ago she dropped "surrender" at one of the 2 concerts. I suspected that she was in a hurry to get to the airport because Berlin-Tegel airport has a night flight ban. I was also annoyed because that's the song i would have liked to hear.

So if you went to see a play, and the lead actor decided to cut a part out cause they wanted to go home to their kid, despite you paying the same as any other audience, that’s ok with you? Totally cool if so, it just wouldn’t sit well with me personally. As for not seeing her kids for weeks, Celine would have known that clearly. You can’t cut people short for a reason like that.

 

As someone said, it’s a big IF. This is all hypothetical for me. I don’t post much but I couldn’t stay quiet over this one.

 

I’m still loving the show (and the setlist) and can’t wait for the Dublin show details to come 🤗

Speaking about shortning and cut off songs at this stage, to 3 show? it's a different thing.

I stick to my thought, she has been getting the worst advices ever, and now shortning major french hit

One month ago I thought she is not ready for this Tour, and preferred her to get a deserved rest

after the LV run (keeping in mind her mom is not doing so well...)

Really, I don't know any artist that went that fast for a new Tour.

Hoping things will be back in track for the next show.

 

Beside that, I would like to know something else out of curiosity.

 

I don't follow many artists and the one I follow had on his show,

some new songs from his new album, and all the rest of the setlist

is almost repeating itself

every single show. He is a veteran artist.

 

I would like to know if there are veteran american artists

that making changes in setlist often, including old gems

or songs they never sang/"rare"?

In a medley I understand that songs are cut as well as live versions of 7 minute songs like IACBTMN.

But cut your biggest hit in French? The last song of the show? I dont understand. But I still love her!

I highly suspect it was cut because they had a massive stage to strike last night and it’s the first time they’re doing it. Once it becomes a well-oiled machine, it’ll go faster, but last night was their first take.

 

Plus someone said the show was running late. It wasn’t. It started the same time as previous 2 nights.

If it finally confirms, I'm more beyond then happy! In recent years I have followed Céline basically "all over the world"

 

I have been to many of her concerts in Paris, Berlin, London and Tokyo. Each of them was an unforgettable experience. Coming out of each of them I was already looking for options where I could be on the next. But as we know there is not always time for everything that we would like to do.

 

And now everything looks like Céline will visit my country (Poland) and one of the two planned cities will be my hometown (Łódź, she has never been here before) and I live about 1500 meters from the concert venue. Karma?

Usually venues have a time thats a cut off. If the show isnt done, stage isnt packed up and everything gone by say the cut off time is 1am, the artists team or/and the promoter are fined heavily. So since she finished at 10pm, if their cut off was 1am, they need everything packed up and gone in 2 hours or theyre fined..... i THINK thats what Scielle was kind of talking about, if im wrong, please do correct me

Disassembling all the staging, rigging, lighting, sound equipment for a show of that size is a massive operation, and often starts a soon as the artists exit the stage (last night they started pretty much right away; they certainly don't wait for the audience to clear or anything like that). I'm sure they worked well into the night.
