I remember back then we thought it wasn't a great performance at all.

Think we had the 90s performance in mind. But now these days, like you said. I don't think she would be able now to perform it like that.

 

She was sick at that time like some said, and this performance was recorded late in the evening if I can remember correctly.

She had a crazy promotion time in Paris, also the first with RC.

 

Yeah, she sounded a little sick or under-the-weather, or just tired. I am sure if she had performed it on another day in that era, she could have done better.

I dont think that she is sick here.

If im not wrong i remember back then that Celine went for just few days in Paris and she had to do many shows (Star Academy, 500 Choristes and more) singing live in most of them and giving long interviews (i think promoting he French best of album) so she is very tired here and vocally of course. I dont remember if that is something tha SHE said back then or it was the general impression that many commented.

oh man, I remember those days. These were special times! She promoted the hell out of the On ne change pas album. And I remember watching the show with Michel Drucker live from Germany, because that channel was on my network :D she sang I believe in you there. It was amazing! And I was absolutely digging Tous les secrets at that time (and I still do!). It’s one of her very best songs ever! It’s perfect from beginning to end!! :) Edited by ryba

Mirage was at the taping of the English IBIY performance. Unfortunately it never aired and the song was never released. :(

She also sang Chante with Marilou at Vivement Dimanche.

And yes that English version of I Believe In You, it's been 18 years ago.

Recorded on a crappy phone with like 5 megapixel back in the day :sofunny:

 

It got lost on the internet, it has been uploaded back than but where it is now. I don't know.

Been watching this clip. I really dislike the hairstyle, does not suit her at all. Basically covering the eyes that is her strong feature and emphasising her nose. I love her looks/hair in every other clip of ''All The Way...A Decade of Songs'', especially 'That's The Way It Is' and 'Live (For The One I Love)'. Also, her make-up in 'Then You Look At Me' is exemplary, Celine looked fantastic. Not sure how they messed up with this wig in 'I Want You To Need Me'. :pinch: :-D

It's a wig. And a bad one. She had short hair at this time.

So much they scrapped in the music video world… the changed concept for IWYTNM, they scrapped the videos for Lying Down, Eyes on Me and Encore Un Soir….anything else?

somebody should once ask her for the reasons why these videos were never released. Now they could release them, cause it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s been almost 30 years since then and it wouldn’t make any difference in her career anymore. Edited by ryba

if that’s the reason then I wonder why they shot this video with that hell concept in the first place. They could have gone with a different concept. Maybe it is a disturbing music video lol Edited by ryba

Guys, I just have the best idea ever! Let’s contact Celines biographer who is currently writing the new biography and make a big request about including untold stories about her unreleased material, especially music videos and songs or even shows. I’m 100% certain that they would take that into consideration, since their goal is to sell as many copies of that new book as possible, and they will be willing to cater to the fans and their requests. And these are the things that we want to know for real, not the same stories warmed up over and over again. Maybe also her view on the Phil Spector sessions from today’s perspective and what she is thinking in regards to these songs now that Spector passed away. These are some real goodies for the fans. I didn't know there is a second video for Goodbye's..

Celine looks so good in this. However, the sensual scenes do not align with the meaning of the song. I agree with their decision not to release this material.

 

On a side note, Celine in the bathtub scene reminds me of Mariah in the 'Don't Forget About Us' music video when she is inside the pool. :-D
