smw Posted February 9, 2023 at 05:59 PM Posted February 9, 2023 at 05:59 PM The legend Bonnie Ratt was the Grammy winner of The Song Of The Year with her song "Just Like That" from the album of the same name. Do you think Céline can also win another Grammy now? I was thrilled to see Bonnie win. Yes, I think there are still many big moments to come in Celine’s career. 2
scielle Posted February 9, 2023 at 11:43 PM Posted February 9, 2023 at 11:43 PM I’m so sad about Burt Bacharach. Such a giant of songwriting. So many iconic songs. RIP 1

Alex_Incognito Posted February 10, 2023 at 04:27 PM Posted February 10, 2023 at 04:27 PM Anyone else think the LOVE SONGS playlist is lazy as hell ? The first songs is the whole LTAL album 3 "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Think Twice? The Prayer? In their defense, they did preface with 'To celebrate love in all shapes and forns'. Which is quite nice actually.

CourageCeline Posted February 12, 2023 at 05:51 PM Posted February 12, 2023 at 05:51 PM Is it just me? I haven't listened to Celine in a very long time(months). There was a time i used to listen to her everyday, but now it's like her songs have lost the meaning and emotion for me. Probably because of the lack of interaction from Céline. I hope, that with Love Again, my love for Céline comes back!

Because if you just locked yourself with Céline playing the same songs all over again and again without new songs or concert to watch. You will grow tired listening to it. Me, when listening to Céline. Recently, I listen to her French songs than her English songs (except Taking Chances album - I love this album). Even you don’t fully understand it because it’s French. For me, I think her french songs have more emotions than her English songs. Right now, I’m planning to listen to her early recordings but honestly. I don’t like her tone in her teenage years. Her singing her first French single is better when she sang it in her 20’s (1993) than in her 10’s. Her tone in her 20’s is much much better. Edited February 13, 2023 at 06:55 AM by jpatdeleon09

Celine’s brand / personality was “love can conquer all.” But she’s been through so much over the past several years. It tends to cast a shadow. Her music was always romantic and uplifting - and that’s just not where she’s at right now. It’s totally understandable that she’s focusing entirely on herself at this time. I think there’s still a lot of good stuff coming our way. And I’m hopeful her treatments are going well. Love Again will be a nice gift. 3

chocolatechip15 Posted February 13, 2023 at 07:04 PM Posted February 13, 2023 at 07:04 PM (edited) Last night I fell down a Celine rabbit hole. I was happy and sad at the same time. Me too - I’ve been watching/listening to a lot of Celine lately and it’s very bittersweet. Like the song Je Lui Dirai - she is just so full of joy at new motherhood in that song and it’s all about the promise of the future and all the things she’ll tell her little boy. And at that time in her life, she had her new baby, Rene was well after his first bout with cancer, and she had both her parents. 20 years later, she’s lost her parents, Rene, her voice, and her health. It’s just so sad. Hopefully the loss of health (and voice) is temporary. And of course she has her twins now, too, and part of it is just the natural passing of generations as years go by . . . But still sad. It’s hard to listen to that joyful song without thinking about her life then as opposed to her life now. Edited February 13, 2023 at 07:07 PM by chocolatechip15 6
