Random news, thoughts and common questions about Celine (closed)

Still trending she's still number 1 on twitter. Glad people cares for Céline and it's about time with Rolling Stones to be grilled with this nonsense list. I guess the people who picked that list doesn't really like Céline

I always thought that Rolling Stone always hated Celine, it can be seen on how they gave one star on her albums (even FIY) and i recall reading their review on Taking Chances and they harshly criticized her, writing that she sang like a strangled cat which is totally disrespectful…

So ridiculous & almost comical Celine wasn’t included on that list of the greatest singers… should easily be in the top 3.

But it’s refreshing to see how many people got fired up over it and defended Celine. Scrolling through the replies is great. Maybe they ultimately did her a big favor by getting so many people talking about her. I hope RS feels the backlash.

If it was just for click bait and buzz, didn’t they also risk looking like fools excluding Celine?

In this days, it really doesn’t matter! Publicity right now is about trending, make people talk about it, good or bad. You need to push the algorithm, so more and more people can see it and talk about it. I don’t remember Rolling Stones done something relevant in months, probably years. I didn’t know they still existed. Now, everyone is taking about it. It made to news channel, even here in Brazil where I live.

So, I don’t know if it was planned or not, but I’m pretty sure they are extremely happy about it.

Well guys. This is not actually a direct Celine thing, but I found this hilarious (and somehow ridiculous). I was listening to Let's Talk About Love album when suddenly a question popped up in my mind "Is there any chance that Mariah Carey and Barbra Streisand come together for a thing?". Then I looked it up on Youtube, and and the first result it showed me is Tell Him

P.S: (very personal concern and no hate comment at all) Does Barbra like and listen to Mariah's?

The exclusion from the RS list did Celine more good than a potential inclusion. :-D It gave her publicity and the outpouring of love was incredible!

In the last 5 years, since the Celinaissance, there have been some interesting reflections and articles about Celine's place in culture. Celine didn't change, it's just the critics and the culture took too long to understand her and appreciate her. But that often happens with great artists.

Im glad she didn’t make the list after all… she’s in a category of her own anyways

Also just another reason to continue undermining RS magazine and consider it irrelevant.

I agree that her not being on the list has been the best thing that could have happened. actually it has reaffirmed her place in the music world and allowed the masses to assess and agree her place. So good so far into her career.

I have never seen this before! Is there a full video?

I feel like in the 2003 era Celine was her real self, it reminds me strongly of the way she presented herself in 2019 when she announced her Courage tour.

Agreed. She had some outspoken, fierce moments in 2003. She had already proven herself and was ready to be more relaxed and less “perfect.”

In 2004, she kind of went back to basics a bit. The Oprah appearance for Miracle comes to mind.

Yes, she was super fierce in 2003. I think it was motherhood and she didn't give a damn about anything else.

I don't know how I missed this interview. It's excellent. She says there's still some songs from Courage that she wanted to release and that nothing should prevent her from putting out a single after an album. I wish it happened that way.

This interviewer asked excellent questions about her music. Loved it
