I think it takes a very brave / confident person in show business to pretty much disappear without any fear of being forgotten. It speaks to Celine's character.

She is so confident in her talent and her legacy / status in the music industry.

There are other divas who don't have that level of security, and they are constantly sending out reminders that they're still here.

It's very selfless of her... and I'm not surprised by that whatsoever.

 

How do we know she's given it that much thought? I mean, her team is simply that incompetent lol. It's not "needy" to let your fans know you're still here and want to connect. But Celine does not have those desires.

 

But yes, no one would forget they spent hundreds of dollars on a concert ticket they have yet to redeem.

I think that she thinks it's understood (among her fans) that the world is in a dire state right now.

She understands that show business is not important at the moment.

And for the fans who don't understand that, she doesn't really care.

On her social media, she will speak out about important things --- her loved ones, people who have passed away, new pandemic information --- but, clearly, nothing else showbiz wise is important to her right now. As far as self-promotion goes, at least.

I'm sure she's got some balls rolling behind the scenes... like prepping to film Text For You, etc. -- but she's just not going to flaunt about anything on her platforms until the world is safe / safer again.

No one is forcing Celine to do anything. Instead, we are commenting on what she is or is not doing. Doesn't take a genius to notice the difference...but maybe you are proving otherwise.

 

If she does not want to connect, that's fine. But the point is that is what this is about. Connecting. Not promoting or selling. Artists do things for themselves and their fans.

If you chose not to read and understand what I said, then that's on you. I've been very consistent with my position. And you've been consistent being a barnacle.

 

Many people have expressed similar views. So maybe we're actually reflecting reality.

Geoff Molson, owner of the montreal Canadien(hockey Gods right now) :-D , says that he has a surprise about the national anthem for the first game of the season in Montreal, Thursday. What could it be? Maybe Celine.... i wish. :)

Celine could easily do more to connect with fans, even virtually during the pandemic. It could be done very easily and safely. Even once a month or every two months. Many other artists from all over the world have done it over the last year, new artists AND veteran acts. But Celine apparently doesn't want to. This makes fans feel various ways...including upset or disappointed. Also, her team is totally inept and needs a big overhaul.

 

And, for those who say we have no proof that she is not doing things behind the scene, we don't have proof that she is either. So, each assumption is equally valid.

Didn't hers and Rene's close friend (a hockey team manager, don't remember the name) pass away last year? Maybe a tribute to him???

no, it was Pierre Lacroix, the guy from the Colorado team...
Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

He was from the Colorado team but he is from Montréal and was very well-knowed in Québec...

Right - so you've just made my point for me. YOU think CELINE should be behaving differently than she is. YOU think SHE should do more to connect with fans. So....back to my original post that started this: Why can't you let Celine be? Just let Celine do what Celine wants to do and be in the state she wants to be in? What's this obsession you have with HAVING to hear from her? Because you're upset and disappointed when you don't? That's something that could be discussed in therapy. I said could. And her CHOICE says a lot about her. I am fine with people defending her choice, but don't do it on BS justifications that in reality are not preventing her--or any of the countless new and veteran artists--from connecting with fans. It is her CHOICE. As I said many weeks ago in other posts...but maybe you have memory issues.

 

Just observing the reality. People can decide how to feel. And apparently there is a whole horde of the forum who needs therapy because they've observed the same thing :sofunny:

You’ve actually never said that before. You’ve been too busy whining about the fact that your imaginary best friend, Celine Dion, isn’t connecting with you as much as you want her to and it leaves you upset and disappointed. Poor baby. Life is so hard.

Bitter, sour, and delusional to boot. It takes someone as acidic as you to think you're right and that the vast majority weighing in on this topic, 10+ people on this forum, are wrong.

 

Celine is not behaving like 99% of all other major musical artists--veteran and new--are behaving towards their music/fans. Pointing this out means we think Celine is our "best friend"?

I feel sorry for you - you're going to have lots of upset and disappointed days because a human being you don't know doesn't connect with you. Seriously, FIND A THERAPIST.
