Cher’s talking about a virtual concert now ...

Amazing!

Cher’s career blows my mind.

Everything she’s accomplished is unparalleled... her amazing recording career dating back to the 60s, her hugely successful tv shows, starring in multiple great films, winning an Oscar for best actress, comeback after comeback, a number 1 hit at 50, and STILL doing stadium tours & residencies after 50 years in show business.

I’ve collected all of her albums on vinyl and there’s A LOT.

She and Sonny also worked with Phil Spector back in the 60s and that experience influenced their sound as they launched their own music. The Broadway show about her life should’ve been better - but I know movies about her life will be made.

She is incredible. :)

Completely agree! I’m a big Cher fan and she truly has had an incredible career. I also see her as an exceptional role model.

And giving abused and tormented elephants a better life. The way she helped Kaavan the elephant is one of the most amazing things she ever did. There’s so much to admire about her.

It would be amazing if Céline performed at Biden’s Presidential Inauguration

A New Day Has Come should be the one :)

Super random and a very silly, trite thing... but I miss seeing Céline's wedding ring on her finger. I realize she stopped wearing it consistently in the mid-2000s and really stopped wearing it from about 2010 on.. but nonetheless. I miss it.

She would still wear a "ring" on that finger a lot but her actual wedding band she stopped wearing (at least in public) consistently. She received a lot of rings from Rene and I think she just liked to rotate them. And sometimes she probably just wanted to give her fingers a break... diamonds and gold are heavy! I just loved the elegance of it and of course what it represented. I've always thought she had beautiful hands.

I agree. What I thought was cute and interesting was that Rene always had a wedding ring on his finger. Celine wore a ring, didn't wear a ring, changed rings etc.... but Rene always wore his two, I believe, rings.

Very odd she didn’t use the word “friend”. Weren’t they really close??? I always had the impression that he and his wife/kids had been personal friends of the Dion/Angelil clan...

I was about to say the same thing. And why didn't she use spaces after her periods :P

But I am sure she is sad and emotional all the same.

Because Twitter has a character limit.

I never thought Céline and René were close friends.

When she was on his show, they seemed very comfortable with each other but it doesn't mean they were close.

Even though I struggle with how quiet she is, I respect how committed she is to going off the radar right now during the pandemic.

Her team, however, could be doing a lot. But I'm sure their quietness is also coming from the boss -- and the boss is Celine.

Glad her voice is getting some major rest. She was long overdue for getting some well deserved mental and physical rest.

A lot of good will come out of this prolonged silence.

:)

I think it takes a very brave / confident person in show business to pretty much disappear without any fear of being forgotten. It speaks to Celine's character.

She is so confident in her talent and her legacy / status in the music industry.

There are other divas who don't have that level of security, and they are constantly sending out reminders that they're still here.

It's very selfless of her... and I'm not surprised by that whatsoever.
