Well it might have nothing to do with what Caesars want. The new management seems to be making savings where possible and making the business more efficient all round. It may well be that they want to reduce production costs themselves.

It could also be that the new style of the show is naturally more simple, the music stripped back etc. She has been saying that that's something she'd like to do. It's now or never really if she wants to try something new.

Was there an article or something that says this? I know it probably mentions about the budget reduction in past posts, but does anyone know where that info came from?

Also, where did the music being stripped back come from? Is that why they fired Dave Platel? Sorry if I spelled this guy's name wrong or if I said the wrong person. There's so many names to remember in her team. LOL.

When she was in London in 2013 she was talking about wanting to do some more acoustic style shows. Can't remember off the top of my head which news sources she said this to but she mentioned it a few times. She did say about wanting to do these shows in London though.

Not sure about a direct source for cutting the production budget but I'm pretty sure I've read this amongst the many articles flying about at the moment on the internet. We don't really need an article to tell us that they are making savings at the moment though. Shutting offices in Toronto etc is a clear sign of this. And it makes total sense to do that. If you take over a business that has been run by another person for a long time the first thing you would do is take a step back, look at what's going on and rectify the issues that you see. When problems develop in a business over time it far easier for an outsider to spot them than it is for someone inside the business.

"Something I'd love to do is say, come to the UK for two months. No big production, just the unplugged version of my songs. Songs that I've never performed before, the unknowns and my favourites. I don't know what the theme would be exactly, but there'd be no orchestra. I've done so many big things in my life that these days, it's the little things that excite me now."

Yes. Your right about the whole outsider's perspective. I think I remember reading somewhere that, that was the reason why Rene specifically hired Aldo. Rene thought he would have an outsiders perspective and could be brutally honest about things and not be afraid to hurt any feelings because he's an outsider coming into the group with fresh eyes.

Rene didn't say those exact words, but I think I remember him saying something like that when he stepped down and personally chose Aldo to take over for him as Manager of Celine's career.

I personally think that what was a great success twenty years ago should just be respectfully left there.... Let's move on, shall we???

I look forward to seeing new projects even if they are not half as successful as twenty years ago...

I respect your opinion, and see your point. Most of us on here have probably brought PTQME like eight times between all the regular, GH, and live albums. hahaha Why buy it again?

However, I don't see anything wrong with a bunch of fans wanting to celebrate an album of Celine's by doing something outrageous and to some, stupid. Besides, if the Red Heads can pull it off, it would still be a cool statement (to me) to make that Celine still has staying power even after her prime. And it's not coming from Celine's camp promoting the idea. To me, it's like when the rock and roll stars bring out their great albums repackaged, and say "Celebrating 25, 30, 50 years!", and the albums go to the top of the Billboard charts. I know that "Don't Stop Believin'" from Journey is the biggest selling classic rock digital track on iTunes. Here's an article about it: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2008/nov/11/journey-itunes-download And "Don't Stop Believin'" is now 34 years old. So what the Red Heads are doing, I don't find that much different.

As far as looking forward to new projects, I am right there with ya!!! Although, we have not seen or heard of Celine going back into the studio for new projects to be created. All we have heard is a return to Vegas with no confirmed date. I personally don't expect us to get any new music any time soon while they are cleaning house and getting things in order. So until I read or hear of new projects and show, I am going to celebrate and enjoy what I already have. So the next couple weeks my Twitter and Facebook pages are going to be littered with D'eux and Unison videos while I re-enjoy these classic albums.

UH helloooooooooooooooooo (MEGO :lmao: ) Sorry lame.... UNISON has its 25th birthday in April, but no one seems to be bothered

I am bothered!!! :) But no one has organized anything to celebrate Unison as far as I know. So if you or someone else want to organize anything relating to Unison, let me know. I'm fair game. The only thing that I can think of on short notice (it's 2.5 weeks before April 2nd) is to get people/fans to make requests to local radio stations and storm the internet like we did last week. Any other suggestions? Volunteers? I don't have the connections and know how to organize something like this, especially since I have been a "lurker" fan for soooo long!

I don't think it's Celine singing incredible though. It doesn't sound like her. Anyone else think that?

So I just saw that beauty & the beast live action movie will be released march 17th 2017

Wouldn't it be cool if Celine somehow got involved again. Maybe sing the theme song ...I'm sure they will have new music for it and not recycle the ones from the animated movie!

Just get the RH's involved they'll try to get it to number 1 again after 20 years :giggle: :P

(my apologies to any RH's on here :) )

:sofunny: :sofunny: Oh my word - you are FAR from old! I was 21 years old, and in college, when this movie came out and I saw it in the theaters. And I am FAR from "old". Which means you're just a young whipper snapper! :-D

Lol

I was thinking that too!!

But it would be cool if they say gave it a new arrangement and stripped it down to just Celine singing and a piano ....but it will probably never happen

Yeah that could be interesting... but then she does have a habit of surprising us sometimes.

I went to see an Elvis impersonator a few weeks ago. A lot of the show was based on the 1968 Vegas comeback. I semi jokingly told my friend that this is what Celine should to for her come back. Sitting around with a few musicians in a more relaxed, natural style and just doing what she wants with her voice (but possibly less stoned than Elvis was)!

With just basic music to accompany her and the three vocalists that could be spectacular.

Yes, wouldn't that be spectacular! I absolutely loved Edison  She looked great in just the clothes she had on. No rushing to change, just simple! I don't think she would go for that in Vegas though????? I think she thinks that the audience wants to see the changes. (could be totally wrong though)

Honestly, the blazer in Edison I just loved. I didn't care that it was a blazer, it looked really good on her! :) as for the costume changes, I think 4-5 is good. 3 for the main show, and maybe a mini for the upbeat section, and then a gown for MHWGO. :) She looks good changing re outfits, but she doesn't neccisarily need 7 like when Vegas started :giggle: LOL

I do love all of the costume changes. But those work best with big concerts....VVegas and arena tours. If she did a few smaller scale acoustic type shows periodically I don't think she'd need all the outfit changes. Just one really good outfit and make it more about her, the vocals and the music. I would love this just as much!

I haven't been here in a while, mostly because I hate the way the fans dissolve in to fighting instead of uniting when something not so great is going on. I am saddened by recent events, but not mad at her. And as for costumes, well, hello, I am blind so, obviously don't care. LOL But I would love a more accoustic show. I loved Edison as well because people described to me how intimately and up close and personal people were able to interact with her.
