I always thought Andrea couldn't get there until after rehearsals. Is that not true then?

In this billboard article, Britney says how she was inspired by Celine to have a residency in Vegas. She mentions that she with a friend stayed at Celine's house when she visited her back then. I always thought celebrities would choose to stay in hotels, quite surprised to find out that Britney stayed in Celine's house! I wonder how was it like, would Celine wake up early and make them breakfast and coffee herself? haha~

This is all conjecture on my part, but I would not be surprised if the non-Christmas audio "videos" of her songs recently uploaded to YouTube ("To Love You More," "I'm Alive," "Because You Loved Me" and "I Love You") are being considered for a revamp of her Las Vegas show, OR they were songs which were to be part of the Asian tour last year. In regards to "Ave Maria" and "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)," perhaps they are to be part of an upcoming Christmas special this year? Of course there is the other option -- pure randomness with no significance.

It would be cool if some of those song made it into the show. I'm Alive would be a nice change. I know she has done that song in her past Vegas show, but it really is a good performing song and could replace RDMH nicely.

Does seem strange, not the sort of thing I would imagine Celine agreeing to. She doesn't often have much to do with other celebrities like that.

Oh no, remember in Oprah in '03? She asked the butler for a glass of tea when she was like 6 inches from it, so, I don't think so. I just always thought that was funny on Oprah :giggle:

Ha, I don't think Celine was there. I think it was like how the article described it, Britney wanted to see how Celine lived in Vegas. It was nice of Celine to agree, but I could see it: she likely wasn't there, so the house was empty. CP plays a role in Britney's show, and Celine and CP have been in business for years. It also helps Celine when new audiences are attracted to Vegas. So, I could see her agreeing to let Britney see how an artist can live and work in Vegas and the work/life balance.

Because Britney says "Her dressing room was great," -- so do they mean that Britney stayed in her suite of rooms under the Colosseum -- the one that was kind of designed to mirror her house, and included a dressing room? I don't think the house she lived in had a dressing room.

 

But it also talks about Celine's "palatial estate off the Strip" . . . but the house she had in Vegas in '03 wasn't really a "palatial estate." Didn't they make kind of a big deal on Oprah about how it was a relatively simple two-bedroom, one-story house?

There's an interesting quote from Britney's manager about doing Vegas residencies: "But unless you have a deep catalog, where that 65-year-old couple can enjoy it as well as the millennial nightclub-goer, you can't make it work. You're playing to those people and super-fans at the same time. There are very few artists who have that ability to please both."

 

That's why Celine's always going to sing at least a few of her 90s super-hits, and never going to do a show with tons of her lesser-known or French songs that all the super-fans want to hear. At least -- not in a Vegas residency show. It's just the nature of the venue.

I think what they mean is that Britney got to meet her in her dressing room before the show (that's what they understood by staying at her estate). I can't imagine that they invited Britney Spears to live with them in their private home for a couple of days :D

Good point. The article doesn't make much sense on that part. For the reasons I gave before, it wouldn't seem totally crazy if she had stayed at the house. Also, it doesn't make sense to have just stayed with a friend in the dressing room either. I think the issue stems from the point of the article being about Britney Spears, and not that one detail related to Celine (so that bit may have been overlooked a little during editing). The bigger point I suppose is that Vegas has given Britney Spears a good balance in her life. And Vegas seems to be doing well. So, good news overall I suppose (at least for people relying on tourism in that city).

This question doesn't have anything to do with Celine but I was just wondering, I'm going to by first Broadway play in New York City. Does anyone know if Broadway theaters have the t.v. screens like at a concert, where if you don't have close seats, you can still see what's going on through a t.v. screen?

 

I was just curious to know if Broadway theaters are different that way?
