we have a program, at 10.oo p.m. with a guy Eric Salvail(he is so funny) , so he invited a singer, Annie Brocoli , who was and still does songs , shows and dvds mostly for childs , she was very popular. She said that one day , she received a call from one of >Celine's assistant asking her if she would do a private show for Celine's twin third anniversary. So, she said yes even if she was stressed to go sing not wanting to be judged by the world's greatest singer as she said.. She had to search for things because some of her stuff was in storage. So , once she was ready , she received another call from the assistant, and then Celine took the phone, talked to her, and wanting her to not be anxious and just to do her best. When she arrived at Celine's home, there was so much great decorations(big flowers) etc...

 

the images have been given by Celine not by Annie. She didn't know about that. And Celine made the little video and sent it for Annie.

I was lol! I was just scrolling the tag on Tumblr since I saw the cute videos on Fb and then BOOM. I went "It's TRUE!" :laugh:

I don't think it's bad at all, though!

I'm not sure what to think of this. She's had some good short do's but IMO, this isn't one of them. I don't think I like this one.

 

Another thought, though:

1) Did Celine really venture to Wal-Mart to shop?

-She very well could have, we've all seen her shopping before. But at expensive stores. Not saying Wal-Mart is beneath her or anything, just saying given her tastes it's a little surprising. :giggle:

 

2) The whole thing where the manager said she introduced herself as Queen Celine......... :sofunny:

-That one is pretty self explanatory on all it's own

 

3) Is she really there without her security detail? :hmm:

-Unless they're (or even one of them.....) just not pictured in this photo-perhaps they're off to the side of the shot? It's hard to believe, even Celine, would venture out without some sort of security in place. We've all seen what happens once she's spotted anywhere. It's get a little nuts.

 

**Unless she thinks because she at Wal-Mart people will think it couldn't possibly be her. Who knows. LOL.

 

Either way, still looks to be her and I'm in shock of the hair......... :o

Shania's Vegas show will air on ABC at 9pm eastern time tonight. I never made it to see her show. Will be interesting to see what her show was like in the same theatre.

Couldn't you just set a song as the ringtone? Less well known songs probably won't be available as ringtones.

I'm watching Tina Turner's interview with Oprah from The Next Chapter in 2013. She was talking about her career and performing and how it finally just tired her out but she had to give it her all every time. There was a switch that flipped when she was on and "Tina" came to life. It's all she knew for the longest time. What a good interview! I can see Celine shadowing these thoughts and feelings. I know Celine has said something like that also about a "switch" gets turned on. Any thoughts? Edited by DionFanAlways

we call it a persona in psychology, something exterior to your true nature that cames whenever you need it...it is not just for the singers... :giggle: That persona is you but not you deeply. In a way, i can understand why she needs to take a break. And if would have to explain or do an interview, it would cut the break in half, destroying it . I hope we will have news soon.

It's interesting . .I think it's true and not true at the same time for Celine, if that makes sense. On the one hand, she definitely has a public persona -- a Celine that has to be energetic, has to be careful about what she says and always has to be entertaining and all that -- and I think she definitely needed the private time with her family to not have to be "on" in that way. I think the My Love lyrics get at that, too - -the "Did you know that I would play the part" . she always has to fit into that public persona.

 

At the same time, Celine has always strenuously insisted that she's not a different person in her showbiz life and her family life -- that it's all the real her (the "open book" thing that we all know is not quite so open as it seems). The interesting thing is that that sentiment has been echoed many times by the people around her . . Mego has said Celine (and Rene, too) are the same on-camera and off; Oprah said "You are exactly what you appear to be" -- even Jenna Glatzer (who wrote For Keeps), said, "The way she comes across on television– sweet, emotional, simple, a little wacky– that’s not an act." http://jennaglatzer.com/book/celine-dion-for-keeps/ One of the most common things people close to her say about her is that she's genuine.

 

I think maybe it's that the Celine showbiz persona is a simplified version of Celine the person . .simplified and polished to appeal to as many people as possible. But even the persona is still genuine Celine . . .

 

Or, as Celine once told Denise Bombardier . .it's like there's a transparent shell around her. .and the public can see in, but only those very close to her can break inside.

you make sense, i understand what you mean. I think also that she is genuine, she is herself, she is pleasant, sweet, funny etc......But sometimes , maybe she is tired and need to recharge, and in those moments, i think that she is not as demonstrative, and can be very quiet. What i call the personna is , when she is doing her thing, she puts the funny face, i believe she is funny but she can't help but to be funny when doing public things. she could be more bitchy, i know i would like that :giggle:

I also think another thing is that Celine is an extremely emotional person -- and she needs to work through and process difficult emotional things in private before being able to talk about them in a public way that's calm and polished enough to be right for showbiz. When she doesn't have that time in private, she ends up giving these very emotional interviews where -- even though I think her reactions were perfectly natural and understandable -- she gets mocked and attacked for not saying the perfectly calm, publicly neutral thing (like the Larry King-Hurricane Katrina interview or the Robin Roberts interview after Whitney Houston died).

 

When she reacts with that strong emotion to world events, you can imagine how much more strongly she would react to something personal like Rene being sick -- and that's why I feel that she shouldn't be pressured into talking publicly about all this until she's ready.

I love that emotionality about her, it makes me so mad people mock that. They're not used to, or mabye uncomfortable, with that kind of in your face realness. Nothing to hide or mask behind.
