One of her songs that was actually a HIT that I'd love to see again is IF YOU ASKED ME TO. She needs to reclaim that song.

 

And then there are lots of other Celine songs that weren't necessarily radio hits but are well known even among casual fans:

 

Tell Him, To Love You More, Seduces Me, Declaration of Love, etc. etc.

 

But it'd MOST be fun for her to dust off some songs that she's either never performed or hasn't performed in YEARS.

 

It has been one of the great mysteries of her career as to why she dropped that song....she performed it all throughout the 90s!!!

 

I always wondered why she strayed away from that one, from WDMHBN (before the new Vegas show in 2011), and she generally stayed away from I’m Your Angel (even before the latest R Kelly controversy).

 

But especially IYAMT!

 

 

My dream is her to do Halfway to Heaven or Only One Road. Halfway to Heaven is dreamlike.

I wouldn’t get too worried. For one thing, Celine only has 2 other acts scheduled on the main stage that day. She’s gonna have plenty of time available for a big set. Also, when you look at her one-off shows like the Millennium Concert, USF and Sur le Plains, she had pretty massive set lists.

I adore Only One Road and Halfway to Heaven!

 

Bringing back some of those gems -- like If I Were You -- would be a dream come true!

 

I really love songs like If I Were You and Halfway to Heaven because it's all about Celine's TONE instead of her power. For power, I love songs like I Surrender and Then You Look At Me.

Well maybe that was the reason: she got sick and tired of the song! It wasn't such a big hit and with the new albums came new songs to perform, so it's natural older songs get dropped. But I find it a big shame that FIY has dominated her English setlists for 23 years now. (IACBTMN/BYLM/ABM/RDHM & SM/DOL/FIY). IMO it's high time that she only performs one song from it to make more room for new or lesser performed songs!

IYAMT sounds awfully dated, sorry but I don’t miss it at all. I would love to hear Only one road and Water from the moon though. Her live version of WFTM with the band in the rock arrangement at the Sonia Ber... (I don’t remember) show is so amazing! I got it on my ipod and listen to it all the time!

I finally sell my diamond ticket to manu23 for 100 euros (he was ok to give me 120 euros, and I realized that the ticket was 325£ so it was wayyy toooo much to "give it for free" but I am still happy to sell it less than it costed, I hope nobody will hate me after that ^^ but you know I never went to Vegas, partly because of the price !).

That shouldn't have really mattered, on a compilation CD first, early songs will always sound different than later ones. It was her breakthrough on the English market, an important milestone. That why it should have been included!

Well alot of the songs off of FIY which you named (IACBTMN, BYLM, ABM) are big hits, and RDMH has become sort of a trademark Celine song, whether some fans like it or not. SM was very interesting as was DOL and FIY... those i dont mind

Also she will be preoccupied with the photo shoots and the l'oreal thing she mentioned. Plus, she really needs to rest vocally. Trying out new songs and practicing at this level, it's not the wisest choice at this point. Unless they have already prepared a few new songs prior to LV ending, i don't see many changes happening for the BST concert unfortunately. The tour is another story ofc.

I am seriously overdue for ANY news regarding this show! I know the app says it will be updated by the 26th but, after last week, I wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t updated until the day of the event.

 

I would be surprised if she simply did the Vegas show. She seemed to be so genuinely happy that it was over that I would think she wouldn’t want to just do that show one more time. I expect the same basic songs with some London favorites thrown-in. And there’s no way Josh Groban is opening for her and she won’t have him come out and do The Prayer. It would be silly to not sing at least another new song off Courage to gage reaction to it. Even though, as someone said above, she doesn’t have a lot of time to rehearse...the orchestra has plenty of time to rehearse new material on their own. Celine could still throw in an oldie - I can’t wait to find out!

 

I actually just had a thought. If she asked Claire to sing a duet with her...what if they did Tell Him only switching it up where Celine sings Barbra’s part and Claire sings Celine’s? That would be an interesting passing of the torch. Having listened to Claire’s album though, her voice sounds much deeper and she generally sings lower than Celine. Still...lower the key a bit and you never know!

Dont all these big stars have the "festival" and "concert" set ups? If this is the case, the festival ones are mostly shorter and not as good as regular concerts... This London gig might turn out to be nothing special on Celine part...

This is also my worry! When this was announced I thought this is a one off that I can finally logistically get to so couldn’t miss out on this ‘one off’ concert. I thought for once I’m gonna be there live, watching it all unfold and see the costumes and get to hear the setlist as it happens but the closer it gets I’ve realised and kinda come to expect Vegas setlist with a couple of songs changed around to suit the UK audience, ie TT hopefully obligatory.

 

I can’t see how she would be able to fit in rehearsals as the band basically all go straight home as soon as each Vegas run is done, unless they’ve been doing some rehearsals during the Vegas runs.

 

Also, Eric Tewalt said on Twitter that he was arriving in London on the Tues before the concert which is probably just to acclimatise to the time difference, I cannot see much in the way of rehearsals taking place during these couple of days cos Celine will no doubt be fully immersed in Paris Fashion Week and L’oreal shoots etc.

 

I hope I’m pleasantly surprised but somehow I think not.

 

Also, do we know if the artists are able to do sound checks?
