On the contrary, i enjoy claires music. Shes a big enough name to justify more than a 30 minute set

Each to their own. I was never a big Steps fan.

Being from the states, I’d never heard of Steps. I bought Claire’s solo album because she’s a support act for BST and I wanted to be familiar with it. I literally love every single track - it’s almost a perfect pop album and her vocals are fantastic. I hope Celine’s new album sounds like it - it’s classic, timeless. Not trying to sound “current” which dates an album after a few years.

Possibly, however i cannot imagine such a huge gap.. josh to Celine is only 50 minutes, so they NEED something in between josh and claire to break it up.

 

More worried about people ending up with sunstroke and dehydration due to the heatwave over in Europe right now, according to the Met office even scotland (notoriously cold) has temps of 27 degrees today

 

Yep, it’s a scorcher in Scotland today. I think it’s only to last the weekend though then probably back to the rain lol

Unfortunately the rain in Edinburgh and Glasgow seems to start on Saturday and last for the rest of the week, however still with temps in the 20s

That is good to hear. I had low expectations from her and I suppose let my memories of her in Steps and then from Claire and H, cloud my judgement. Maybe she will be better than I thought.

Anyone been at BST before? Is the diamond circle so big that even there u can get a crappy spot? :) I don’t really want to spend the afternoon in the park....

I don’t see how to add a photo to my post. Do a search for “British Summertime Hyde Park” and look at the images tab. The first one that comes up for me shows the partition separating diamond from gold - it looks pretty big. Diamond probably holds at least 2,000 of the 65,000 people.

I’m hoping to be able to record some of it - it all depends on how long my battery lasts. I have a couple of usb chargers I can bring with me but still...it’s going to be a 10 hour day. I’ll probably just hold out for new/rare songs and record those.

 

Also, they’ve updated the app now so that if you click the “line up” tab, the artists are there; however, the picture for Claire Richards is....um, definitely not Claire. Lol

 

If she performs “Miles To Go (Before I Sleep),” we’re all counting on you to get footage! LOL

I highly doubt she will perform something that unknown at this show... tour maybe.

Well :

 

Incognito was one her biggest hits :-D

 

Then it was 90s with Je danse dans ma tête and Des mots qui sonnent.

 

The only other 80s song was Bozo from Felix Leclerc who is the Jacques Brel of Quebec. She sang it already in 1985 (jeeeez she has had a carreeeeeeer :giggle: )

 

And there are casual fans in Quebec? :giggle: :giggle:

I’m going and am in Diamond. Does anyone know how many diamond tickets were sold? I want to be up front for Celine but I reeeeeeallllly don’t want to hang around Hyde park all day long

Does the priority entry ticket mean anything else than being able enter 1h earlier than general entry? I won't be arriving earlier than 17.00.

Does the separate entry mean you get access anywhere more in front than the general entry?

They just announced 3 more acts for Barbra. At least one looks to be not on the main stage (Richard Marx) due to the timing. So maybe they’ll still add some acts for the smaller stages for Celine. In case anyone is in Gen Admission.

I didn’t see the new acts for Barbra on the official app until this morning. And the BST Facebook page announced them 3 hours ago.

They just upgraded Claire to a 45 min set. And pushed her back to 4:45-5:30. Edited by couldawouldashoulda
