Celine performs at Barclaycard presents BST Hyde Park concerts 2019

So many people are posting everywhere about selling their tickets, makes me worried about how many people will actually be there, especially with the fact that there’s still tickets available for all price tiers. I would’ve thought that GA at the very least, being the cheapest option, would’ve sold out!

 

Sadly, I really don’t think this has been as successful sales wise as they thought and perhaps that’s why they haven’t been able to add any more acts to the bill. I just hope there are enough people there to create a good atmosphere.

 

The type of concert (festival) and venue has definitely put some people off. We know she can easily sell 60,000 tickets for shows in London as demonstrated in 2017 but a lot of people just don’t like the idea of this type of show.

 

At a “normal” concert you reserve your seat and turn up whenever you want and it’ll still be there. Here, unless you’re willing to pay the big money, you’ll need to be waiting around for 8 hours before Celine appears to get a decent spot.

Well, Celine or BST promoters couldn't care less for resale tickets, that money is already in their pockets : )

 

Celine was in UK less than two years ago performing for more than 50 000 people, and many fans also know she will be touring next year. The last time Barbra toured UK was 2013, Stevie Wonder I think in 2016, so it makes sense their demand is higher. But let's wait for the final numbers, we don't know how many tickets were put on sale for each act.

I don't think the sales are that bad anyway, she is Celine Dion. Even it's not sold out (65.000 people I think), there are for sure 40.000-50.000 people there. Being tickets left for each section doesnt mean that there is alot of them. Each section could have 10 or 10,000 tickets left, we dont know.

So they’ve announced more acts for Babs, now more acts for Stevie...you’d think they would announce any more acts for Celine first as she’s the once coming in 4 DAYS!!! Shamrock said he saw those other 2 acts on the app before they disappeared. I wonder what would keep them from announcing them? Maybe they fell through? Contracts didn’t get signed? So weird....Still looking forward to the day and the concert. Just not looking forward to the flight over.

I would hope so but wouldn’t be surprised if she’s too busy catwalking around Paris and just fly in on Friday afternoon and fly straight back after the show. The concert is on a Friday and they originally said that the concert started at 2pm when now on the BST mobile app says she starts at 8:20pm. I know people they didn’t buy tickets because they have to work that day, they should have advertise it for 8:20 from the beginning.

2pm is when the “doors open” for the festival. It’s a day long event with a few rides, tons of different food stalls and 3 stages that have different music acts throughout the day. It states on their website that the headliner is always the final act of the day and is usually on around 8pm. So hopefully no one is gonna be super shocked.

I assumed that it would start late, however it wasn’t so clear and people that finish work at 5 didn’t want to risk it. Hopefully now that have announced her start time more people will attend!

Of course she's not on at 2pm! Who would ever think that?? It's a festival. Obviously the headliner plays the last evening show. I can't imagine anyone being confused on that front and actually thinking she'd be on at 2 on a workday!

Has anyone been to BST before? I'm coming from Portsmouth after work (hoping I can get away straight after I finish teaching!) but am unsure of timings.

 

I know it's more of a "festival" so I wouldn't expect her to perform during the day, perhaps 8pm-ish as previously mentioned, but does anyone know what time it is likely to end? Not sure whether to train it home or get a hotel... there's 3 of us!

Ticket sales can't be that bad, when Kylie played BST a couple of years ago they resorted to selling them 2 for the price of 1 on Groupon a week or so before the show. (ps it was awesome) so i wouldn't worry............also if they are bad, its less people to have to fight through to get to the front #WinWin

They’ve been on Groupon for a few weeks now, think only a £10 or so discount for GA but they were certainly on there, Barbra and Florence too.

And according to her IG story a few hours ago, she's performing at... BST Hyde Park. Unfortunately, not Celine's day (should have been though!). I suspect that's because she was already booked to perform at the Montreux Jazz Fest on July 5th (her 19th birthday!)

 

Interesting that BST is still booking acts as late as this!

 

But to those of you going on the 7th - you should go see her!

She's got the voice, writes great songs, sings in English and French (and I think Arabic, too), plus plays multiple instruments.

They will probably have a rehearsal on Thursday night (for Celine). I doubt she would do a full dress reversal or anything major. Most of the rehersal will be done by the band IMO, Celine might just do a new song or two or even just something like RDMH and BYLM just to say shes done jt

She usually does about a 50min set. This concert is a huge deal, so I imagine she'll do something similar. I guess we'll just have to wait and see when she arrives in the UK. I could text Pepe and ask but don't like talking to him about Celine.
