Celine will chart next week in the UK, the songs are actually compiled on the 3rd and released the following day and as Celines single was released on the compilation date... she wont be on there

That's silly, sorry. This story of "hits".

It's not only since 2005 or 2002... if you go that way let's count Mariah's hits in the 90s and Celine's... we will laugh, especially Mariah's fan.

 

I won't even talk about sales of their 2 last english albums to see who and how many... but Mariah's downfall has been wayyyyyy bigger than Céline's.

 

Poor Mariah, at the end, she sure has 124 hits but she had to follow a tendancy started by a singer who hasn't had a no1 since 20 years (because Celine's last hit didn't even reach top 10).

 

Sorry but it's laughable.

 

Celine is a wolrd-level superstar, us only a part, espesicial for singles, a europe top5 hit may sold more than a us no.1.

It's interesting when Fall into you release in French, the whole musuc inadustry though sony was crazy:

this album was released in early March 1996, in other words, when her previous French album, D’Eux, was still #1. The norm is to wait for previous albums to slow down before releasing a new one. Even more atypical is that Je Sais Pais hit song of D’Eux album was translated and included into Falling Into You. This situation happened only because the main career of Celine Dion is obviously at a World scale, from that point of view it was the follow up of 1993 album The Colour Of My Love that had run its course already.

 

Celine have 2nd longest weeks french single in 2012, and the diomand no.1 single in 2016, both huge hits. And LMBTL is at least a modest hit
