This is so wonderful.

 

I’m sitting here having flashbacks to my mom waking me up for school to Love Can Move Mountains back in the early 90s, then watching The Colour of my Love & Live in Memphis concerts with my sisters, then lip syncing I Hate You Then I Love You with my sister, then going to see Celine live in Nashville for the very first time in 1998, then listening to her albums nonstop in my very first car, then going to Vegas in 2005 to watch A New Day for my high school graduation present, then seeing multiple shows of the Taking Chances World Tour, then watching the Vegas premiere of Celine in 2011 & meeting Rene, then meeting Celine herself in 2015.....!

 

All of these amazing memories come rushing back in times like these. We all have our own unique Celine journeys. We’re all on this forum because our connection to her goes far beyond casual fandom.... She has truly been part of my life for as long as I can remember. And I’m 31 now. She’s always been there.

 

Reading the overwhelmingly positive comments on YouTube and witnessing Celine have such a warm, positive reception with this beautiful new English song means a lot to me. I’m proud of her. It’s just so nice to know that people beyond us understand how iconic she is & how beautiful her voice and soul have always been.

 

She deserves this moment and the universe often rewards goodness.

It's absolutely ridiculous that a song needs all of this, just to be featured.

 

It's obvious this song is good, and has major potential to get bigger.

 

But just because maybe not enough people stream it, or buy it, it doesn't stand a chance.

 

But when your name is Nicki Beyonce or Drake, and the whole world will stream it, but forget you a week later,you will be featured.

 

Weekend is almost over, they need to give it another push! SONY COME ON!

 

I think I just answered my own question about Billboard Hot 100... Found this:

I think the length of this song plays a role too. With Facebook and the way people absorb info through the internet, people tend to have shorter attention span. This song is short enough to make people wanting more, and not long to bored people. How and when they place deadpool into the video works perfectly.

 

Btw, in the first chorus when they show a scene of the boy's facial expression, his lips happens to look like he is singing to the word "ashes". Lol

The person we really have to thank is Ryan Reynolds. He was the one who suggested and wanted Celine for the song. To the best of my knowledge, there has been zero indication RC had anything to do with this song.

 

While of course Ryan was the key, at it was his idea, don't underestimate RC's power. Céline looks to him above anyone else for advice at the moment (as he's also the closest thing to René, but is also someone who knows what's hot and what not). If RC would've said "Mom, you really really shouldn't do that", it would definately had Céline think twice (pun intended). And yeah, he was mentioned in the EW article, so that also says he got SOME say in it.

If it maintained that number on Saturday, it's done around three quarters of a million streams in the first three days, which isn't a terrible number but it won't do much for a Hot 100 ambitions.

But he is not saying it. For me, as someone who lipreads all day long, it totally doesn’t look like lipsynching the word ashes, but just as gasping in awe/fright.

 

Anyway, like many have said before, this definately is a grower. For me, I am now totally in love with the song, and even with the videoclip (although I now skip the dialogue at the end). Also getting used to the make-up/editing.

And I remember who she looks like in the beginning, when she shuts down her eyes. She does it the same way the feminine RuPaul does!

 

And yes, I have this song on repeat on Spotify from Friday till now, non stop (on very low volume at work, and out loud in the car and sometimes at home. On another device running youtube non-stop. So few of these 10,5 million views are on behalf of me, lol.

I've found out today that spotify counts only 10 streams per user.

I mean I can't believe a song with 600.000.000 streams has been listened to by 60.000.000 different human beings😂

YouTube also counts as streams as of 2016, for the BillBoard Hot 100 atleast... not including her domination of the Itunes Charts
