I'm not watching her as much as I do Celine so I might be wrong.. But her views aren't as impressive... Lol so even so.. Its not like Celine would be trending 1 all week. She may be outpaced now because nicki Minaj just came out today... but her views at the same time yesterday were higher than minaj now

Exactly. This song "ashes " is very Adele still 2018 ballad and thank goodness she sounds like Celine not trying to sing like adele but similar style. This song is a grower. I can only imagine the full orchestra taking the song to the next level as well. This is going to be like "Recovering" in the way of it being even better way better live, watch!

If I had to guess I would say that Celine is still laying low and recovering from her surgery in a rented apartment somewhere in L.A. I don't think she would want to be flying back and forth or be going anywhere right now while she's still in recovery mode. Airplanes bother regular healthy ears, let alone ears that have recently been operated on. I am wondering if this procedure will effect her in the future at all when she's traveling on an airplane?

 

Celine travels a lot with her job, especially if she's on tour, so I'm hoping problems don't arise in the future because of this. I am thinking that it's probably similar to swimmers ear and could be affected from any kind of pressure from flying and other things that cause pressure? I am totally Hoping that isn't the case though, that the surgery would prevent things like that to happen and that Celine makes a complete, successful and permanent recovery soon. It would be lovely to see her at the Met Gala, but I think that unfortunately it's highly unlikely this year guys.

 

Get well soon Celine! That is all I care about at the moment.

I haven’t posted here in a long time. I only come on every now and again if there is some big Celine news. There can be so much aggression and negativity on this board that it can become a turn off when you’re reading page after page of back and forth arguements. But this is great. So many great posts. An excitement we haven’t had in a long while. I mean, I know there is always an excitement among Celine fans anytime she releases new music, makes a public appearance, becomes a fashion icon, etc. But right now this is the biggest thing we have seen in regards to Celine since the new millennium. Let me explain:

 

The general public perception of Celine has been pretty much the same for so long. After her incredible 90’s success, a decade in which it was cool to like Celine Dion, she kind of became a running joke. Again...I’m saying the general public. But she played her career brilliantly. She took up in Vegas, recreated the entire idea of entertainment on the strip and continued doing what she always does. She continued to record but to less and less sales. BUT, as a live draw she proved that with her well cared for talent she could fill stadiums and sell out concerts worldwide. While a woman in her 40’s is far less likely to have a hit song she can certainly draw a crowd. The Taking Chances tour proved that, as do all of her shows.

 

Now, in the last few years I’ve seen a huge change in how her image is perceived by the general public. There’s been small things every now and then that have garnered news, like the “topless” photos she did for V Magazine in 2012. Or her tribute to Paris at the AMAs. But when Rene died (may that amazing man forever Rest In Peace) the world looked on her again but with a different light. The jokes about her and Rene’s relationship finally dissapeared. People saw this woman mourn the love of her life with such strength, dignity and grace.

 

Since Rene’s death everything has changed. She has been in the news a lot, and all have been positive; The performance of The Show Must Go On at the BBMA’s along with the presenting of the award by Rene Charles. The Summer tour after that, when she first started to get noticed for her fashion. Then MHWGO at last year’s BBMA’s, which was HUGE and the European tour and the fashion world exploding with talk of Celine. And then Vogue...

 

It was bound to happen, but I don’t think anyone saw this coming. She recorded a song for the most R-Rated superhero movie of this generation (the first one had the biggest opening for an R-Rated movie of all time.) She sings a song within the genre that made her famous, but has lost favour over the years (with a few exceptions.). And she gets to do it being Celine Dion. No makeover, no hip-hop or EDM transformation. This has pleasantly confused so many people. The song is beautiful, the video is completely tongue in cheek but also beautiful. And funny. But if it was only funny and related to Deadpool it wouldn’t be charting very high on iTunes.

 

I think even if the song loses momentum on the charts in the next 2 weeks there is absolutely no reason to call it’s death until after the movie comes out. I personally think she should promote it in the next 2 weeks before the movie is release. But if she doesn’t, it could still be her greatest hit in 20 years. The movie is going to open BIG. And who knows how the song is featured in it?

 

Having said all I said, on my first listen I wasn’t blown away. I like a bridge and a build up. But I started to listen to it again and again and started to appreciate it more and more. I’m OBSESSED now. As everyone is saying her vocals are incredible. She will always have that and maybe now people have just found their way back. Finally.

I like the song. Its good. Not the best, but it is catchy and modern sounding. Miles better than Recovering, Hdamlf, and tsmgo.

 

So song is released mid week right? I dont expect a high charting this week. And i doubt it will remain steady enough to be all too high second week. Who knows? Movie is out the 3rd or 4th week and maybe that coupled with a couple performances (including bbma and one of the singing shows).. while im excited with the "better than we're recently used to" success of the single, it's a bit funny seeing people lose their minds on the next day or even day of suggesting we have a "believe" or a mhwgo on our hands.. i like the song but dont anticipate anything close to that. Sorry. Top 50 hit that hopefully has some sort of remembrance maybe???

 

And im fine with the song being short. 3 minutes is perfect. Unfortunately the American public would probably lose interest with a longer more drawn out song with celine. Short, modern, to the point is good for me!

 

 

Overall. Im happy. Top 30 on chart and ill be very ecstatic. Guess we will see!!
