I'm tuning into Radio 1 here in the UK today @ 4pm for the UK top 20 countdown, to hear Celine being played on that station for the first time since 1998.

She's fallen back to #10 in the US, I was really hoping it would crack the top 5 before she started falling! Not shocking with music dropping at midnight last night that she would lose some ground. Hopefully it gets another boost!

Well, if they do not do a major boost, it will start declining fast. That was always the problem: they depend on the initial buzz of the new single and then they forget it. I can see that happening the week of the 14th when the movie comes out. I mean she doesn't have shows until the 22nd. She could probably stop over in LA for a few days for tapings.

The song is airing on French radio stations (RFM, Radio Scoop, RTL, Cherie). It will be sent to Italian radio stations soon.

 

It's also airing on 8 Canadian Main AC radio stations and just 1 USA AC radio station, so far.

 

Do you know what station in the US? I hope lite FM 106.7 plays it, they have been kind to Céline over the years. I also hope that the fact it’s being sent to any station at all is a good sign that this could actually revive a radio career, even just temporarily

IT moved back to #9 on itunes... we always got excited before, honestly, when she hit top 40 or 30 but to get top ten and stay is amazing. With those other songs we get excited just for a couple hours and then off the chart. But with this consistency, if she can hold on after these Friday release songs fade, we might be in for something real this time!

We've come so far within just a day. With more than 10 million views in total, it means that this song is reaching millions of people around the world. And it has become the talk of the town for non-fans, who never care about her but now overwhelmingly recognize her phenomenal performance and talent.

 

It's far beyond any expectation we've had in more than a DECADE. Who knows a "classic" Celine can become this relevant again, esp. for her "music." Yes, it is largely because of the "film," but if it wasn't CELINE, it wouldn't come this far.

 

So my point is that anything better than this is a plus for me.

 

The song itself might not be the kind of "radio-friendly" nowadays, so I hope that when the movie is out it can still do better. But one thing I'm already happy is that this comeback brings Celine Back to Life in the modern world again, at least until the film leaves the theaters.

I feel like she could do with this like she did for Si c'était à refaire and raise it by a key. Like the “go up in Smo-ooaaaaake” (yes i know its smoke but that NOT how she pronounces it lol) has a peak of C5 (A high C for a male and a middle C for a woman) so if she raised it, it would then be C#5 making it a more dramatic song, and other B4/C5s once again raised

Ashes is actually very radio friendly, especially for being a ballad. It doesnt have the stereotypical high note bridge (something thats severly fallen out of favour now) and is short enough for radio. Ive actually seen it on 4Musics morning track show at around 7/8 am and it was on there and the presenter said “Back with the new song for Deadpool 2, Celine Dion with her overnight hit : “Ashes” and from its UK views on YouTube,Itunes and Spotify placement which are taken into consideration
