Popular Post Daniel1997 Posted June 24, 2017 at 06:51 PM Popular Post Posted June 24, 2017 at 06:51 PM I hope it doesn't cause any negative comments, this is just a personal review ~This was my first Céline Dion concert, so I was quite excited. It was sitting in the back of the stadium due to my budget but who cares, it's about the music. I already enjoyed Véronic Dicaire, she did an amazing job by singing other artists' songs. Before Céline started the entire stadium, at least 25.000 people, did the wave a few times. Then 'the whispers in the morning' came. The Power of Love is one of my favourite songs, it actually made me a fan. After the long note it was time for the nice and rocky I Drove All Night. Even though I like Taking Chances, I think the studio version is better. That's The Way It Is and I'm Alive had beautiful orchestral arrangements and made me smile a lot. The intro of It's All Coming Back To Me now was simply epic and the song gave me the shivers as usual. After the How Does A Moment Last Forever and the Beauty and the Beast I was surprised by The Reason, a song I usually dedicate to my friends. I loved it how the public shouted along the 'no no no' in Think Twice, but personally I would've liked it more if she performed Where Does My Heart Beat Now.Then came the tribute to René. Pink's Recovering made me emotional and before I knew it I was sniffing and in tears. As far as I know, of all the songs performed, this song got the biggest applause and Céline was clearly hit by the response. The applause only ended when The Colour Of My Love started. I think it complemented the previous song in a special way, also with the picture of Céline and René at the end. Besides this song Because You Loved Me stopped my tears. This song has a special place in my heart. I was really happy she did my favourite French song, Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, even though I like a lot of her French songs. As soon as she'll perform in Antwerpen I'll go!There was a time in my life when All By Myself could make me emotional, but now it feels more like a song of empowerment. The note at the end is phenomenal. The show turned into the up-tempo medley now. To be honest Refuse to Dance and Love Is All We Need are not really my favourites, but it's nice she did these rarely performed songs. After a nice cover of MJ's Black or White, including René-Charles rapping on the screens, it was time for the - for some people tiring - medley Love Can Move Mountains and River Deep, Mountain High. I actually like these songs and it seemed the public responded well. The Show Must Go On... well not for too long anymore. It's not my favourite Queen song but the performance is capturing. And of course, My Heart Will Go On couldn't be missing. Not exactly my favourite songs but the live version is beautiful. I was happy that at the end she came to the back of the stadium to sing Love Of My Life. I had never heard this Queen song before and I thought it was amazing.Overall I don't have too much to complain about the setlist. I have no idea if Céline lip-synced something but I wouldn't even care. She did a pretty good job on pronouncing ''fantastisch'' and despite her talks being the same at the concerts, they were entertaining. I think the public sometimes could have been a bit more enthusiastic but it was alright. In the front some had balloons and a banner saying ''Because we love you''. That's certainly true. Javito Posted June 24, 2017 at 07:07 PM Posted June 24, 2017 at 07:07 PM Davey asked Denis Savage about a possible dvd. There weren't any plans. Who buys dvds he said :/But he will pass it forward to the people who make those decisions. This can't be real "Who buys DVDs"??? What about having something released for posterity and being professionally made? Isn't that enough reason? Totally agree with Denis. Who buys DVDs? I really don't get why some on here are so fixated on the idea. DVDs are generally loss leaders. I'm not surprised Sony's not wasting money on them anymore and I don't particularly care. There's plenty of footage on YT and elsewhere (and I like it unsanitized). That being said, what they really should be focused on in terms of releasing HD footage, is an OTT strategy. Release concert footage on Netflix or Amazon or Hulu or the (now delayed) Vevo subscription service or YouTube Red. That's where the eyeballs (and money) are. Printing DVDs, you're only losing oodles of money and preaching to the choir (and a shrinking one, at that; I'm a die-hard fan, but I would definitely never buy a Celine tour DVD... what would I play it on? I have't had a DVD player nor a CD/ DVD slot in any of my computers for years...Plus it's such a hassle.)As a content owner, you're in far better position to reach a new audience via a subscription OTT service than wasting money on DVDs. So what about music releases? Following your reasoning they should apply the same principle and not release CDs anymore. Would you like that? Actually the seat was not great. You see the stage was so wide and the block B in the middle in front of the stage, had Celine in front of them the whole time. What my view was, was the big screen in front of me. I was on row 4 and had people in front of me that put that smartphones high up in the air, even though they are quite tall, wave around with them etcetera and blocked my view many times. Celine could not come to our part of the stage, so we had to watch the video and look at Celine from a big distance. Glad I had my photocamera with me - with 30 x zoom, which I completely needed, otherwise I could not film it like this!Glad I can still entertain people here with the videos. All in all, not a great seat but it got my great photos and videos, that's for sure! And it certainly pays off! Your videos are amazing and your filming and editing skills are really useful for all of us here! And yet artists as Madonna release a DVD of every tour... I understand not wanting to release a physical DVD but they could at least release it as digital visual album download (please not only streaming) Tell Coldplay not to release a DVD/BD of their tours! With the love and dedication they put doing them for all their fans to have something to enjoy at home! They even especifically think about the home experience while preparing their tours and show/video effects! Why Celine's team has to be such a pain some times? 4 Quote "Hush, now... leus Posted June 24, 2017 at 07:11 PM Posted June 24, 2017 at 07:11 PM A very good review by a dutch newspaper, about the concert in Arnhemhttp://www.telegraaf.nl/filmenuitgaan/28464348/__Celine_Dion_in_tranen_in_uitverkocht_Gelredome__.html Two things I really like in this review:1) not to catch at one mistake, let alone a false note!2) if there is one singer who deserves the predicate diva, it is this woman! Anyway, I think all these people that attended the concert last night would love to have a video of the full concert. Celine's team makes a big mistake not releasing such a great concert! All those gems like Think Twice, That's the way it is, Refuse to dance and i go and on and on, it is a great setlist. Definately needs a video registration on bluray! 1 Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Javito Posted June 24, 2017 at 07:46 PM Posted June 24, 2017 at 07:46 PM (edited) Well I haven't bought a CD in probably a decade or so, so truthfully I probably wouldn't notice! I get that, but that's not the case for many consumers still. Vinyls are being produced in 2017 like never before, there is a demand of having the "real thing" in physical format and apparently the response of people is that they still appreciate it. So not releasing a DVD of a music concert and resigning to the amateur videos on Youtube is like saying "hey, stick to the mp3 floating around, we won't record the songs in the studio because who cares about buying studio recordings?" EDIT: just got word that the tour T-SHIRTS listing all the names of the cities have been already updated and they replaced LEEDS for Manchester (Davey just sent pictures with the new versions). Now that was quick! See how speedy and efficient they are when they want? Wish they were that quick to release a damn DVD of her tours! I understand not wanting to release a physical DVD but they could at least release it as digital visual album download (please not only streaming)Fair enough! However, Celine and Madonna have released the same amount of Concert Tour DVDs. It is not as if Madonna has released much more. The last Concert Tour DVD by Madonna was released in 2013 and by Celine in 2014. I also assume we will get a DVD from her Vegas show once the residency ends. That will be in 2019 or 2020 so to release a live album in mid/late 2017, possibly months before the English studio album release, is a move I find pointless. Better build the anticipation for the studio album IMO. Edited June 24, 2017 at 07:50 PM by LukeD 1 Quote

Javito Posted June 24, 2017 at 08:01 PM Posted June 24, 2017 at 08:01 PM How can they assure that offering a DVD of her most recent tour on the merchandise stalls won't be of interest at all for the public? Good Lord, a concert DVD of a show is just what the public came to see! How could they not be interested? Unless they're casual fans. If they had last summer's tour DVD for sale on the stalls during the French leg of this tour, let's see if people would buy it or not! Music related products and DVDs should be the first #1 merch to offer on the stalls! 2 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
