Not sure but all I know is when we had Rene we always got some sort of dvd or special or something. Since his illness and eventual death we've gotten nothing like that :down:

Celine couldn't care less about critics or reviews, she knows exactly what her public wants from her and you just need to read Twitter or Facebook posts to see that. Those are the important reviews and the word of mouth. I haven't heard a single bad comment from someone attending the tour so far, and those are the ones that later buy her albums and go to see her again in next tours. But even the worst of reviews can't deny she is on top of her game. It must be hard for haters to see how the lady that sings the Titanic song is as relevant and admired as ever. If the worst a music critic can say is that she sings the same songs as 10 years ago but still she sells out arenas then let them criticize :-D

Guys I am so amazed by the state of her voice! Damn she can still sing! Just listen to The Reason LIVE. It's so powerful and we can hear that she gives her all. I often read comments saying "oh I want the 90's Céline" well you have it. I can hear that Céline in her recent performances

 

 

Yes, she sounds incredible there!! I know that she can still sing (that is an understatement), she's still phenomenal and she hasn't lost 'it' at all. Her voice has just changed over the years, as we all know, and her general singing voice (I'm not referring to her range or power) sounds different now compared to, say, here:

Don't you agree? She's still just as talented however!! I guess her voice just quite literally sounds a little older now! So that's why I feel it would have been different to see her back then. Edited by Sazeliza

We can complain all we want but other singers and bands this far in their career give their fans far far less than what Celine does. We're at the point where yes the Vegas show can legitimately be bitched about because it's a boring sad mess, but this tour - it's as diverse and different that it can possibly be. Make it too diverse and weird and people are upset they didn't hear the songs they came to hear. Unfortunately 15/24 songs being same from one tour to another is necessary.

 

The quality of her shows over The last couple years has went up in my opinion. To me, that is enough. Who gives a bloody hell if she sings rdmh for the millionth time and she continually ignores then you look at me??? This little concern y'all wanna pester on about is pretty annoying considering how amazing this tour is. The songlist is CELINE - it can't vary to much from what's in it really. I'm just glad that unlike the Vegas show, here when she sings new songs it's her songs and not covers.

We need to be glad that she is doing this tour. ^_^

She also could only do her show in Las Vegas and not go on tour.

I am very glad she came to Arnhem! It was a great concert!!! :clap:

I haven't been to Las Vegas yet, so I can't judge about that show, other than from what I have in video's of fans (hope to go to Las Vegas one day ;-).

 

So let's all enjoy the fact that she is doing this tour and is giving the best of herself!

And she didn't have much time but some woman pleaded with her so she gave a couple of autographs anyway (this is exactly why she's always running late lol). It's so weird to me that some people feel that she almost owes them an autograph because they've been waiting for a while...

So my review of the London shows at the O2 -or the choir of one show, as I would call this experience, because most of the arena were singing at once with her during most of the show :wub: I'm not good neither at reviews nor summarising (I think that already became clear :P ) nor my English is far from perfect so please bear with me.

 

First of all, the O2 arena is impressively huge and the sound is great. I was in the front block on Tuesday and on the terraces on Wednesday and still the sound was clear and her voice reached you as if you were in front of her. There are speakers hanging off the ceiling up to the highest terraces so the sound is great even if you're at the back of the place. Excellent arena, really.

 

There were many pivotal moments during this show, but what gave me chills all the time is the response from the audience. I never expected such an overwhelming reaction from the public there. From the moment the music of the intro started to play and she went on with "The whispers in the morning...", the audience immediately stood up and were screaming and applauding like crazy. It gave you chills on every inch of your skin :blush: From that moment, everything was a continuous display of enthusiastic applause from a raving, roaring audience in genuine awe an energy. People stood up, people sat, only to stood up again within seconds or minutes, sometimes even during the same song. Needless to say this happened during ALL the uptempo songs, at the start of the show there wasn't a soul that wasn't standing during TPOL to welcome Celine and then dancing along IDAN, then we sat down during TC and LMBTL (to get some breath) and then all up again for TTWII and IA. You'd think this would calm down for the coming ballads, but you'd have to have seen the audience during Think Twice and The Reason -especially Think Twice-. The audience was raving, applauding and singing like demented :blush:

 

And the singing from the audience... Woah, that was like a cathedral and a choir of one. all singing in unison with Celine most of the songs. I was speechless for this reaction all the time.

 

THE SONGS: I won't comment on each one because most has been already said and commented enough, but to me there are few key moments on this show that stand out from the rest with striking difference from the rest of the songs:

 

Intro + The Power Of Love: what Scott has done with this song using it for the intro is just out of Céline's world. It's pure bliss. He has taken the song to a new level, and that intro has rediscovered it's original magic. It's the best intro they have done for a tour of her. Period. And just when you thought the intro was perfect enough and couldn't be a better song to open the show, Celine just added those heavenly vocals the second night, on Wednesday, right at the start of the intro (check for videos in YouTube). I tell, you, the audience have more than enough reasons to become wild with those adlibs Céline added to the intro, all of it happening while you can't still see her, but you realise something great it's going to happen and she's going to belt one of her signature songs in a way she's never done before.

I couldn't get the opening and those adlibs out of my head for the rest of the week. Just flabbergasting :blush:

 

I'm Alive: I was amazed to find how most of the audience knew the song and they sang along it and stood up again to dance. If they had to choose one song from the ANDHC album I'd rather have had A New Day Has Come, but I see how this song cheers up everyone and makes them dance too :blush:

 

It's All Coming Back To Me Now: there's no way she can get away from this song. The audience roared the moment it started to play :wub:

 

Think Twice: so welcome to the moment of the concert where you will be part of the biggest choir in the planet that night. I knew this song was a big one in the UK, but never expected the audience to sing along with such energy. Some were seated and singing, some were standing up, who cares. Everyone in the venue was so into the song and the moment that you know you were part of something special. The "no, no, no no" part gave me the chills again. I think Celine was genuinely impressed too, and she sang the song with a voice I thought it was lost years ago. All in all, Think Twice was a crazy moment during the London shows. Absolute madness from the British audience.

 

The Reason: people standing up again, the more the song built up, the more people was raving and singing like crazy. Impressive. She got another standing ovation with this one.

 

Refuse To Dance: so we just got to the best moment of this show for the hardcore fans like us, that were waiting new songs to be performed. I'll try to make it short, because you just have to find out for yourself: have some newly found sexiness of Celine, add some sensuality never seen on her while performing, add some adlibs and great vocals that do justice to the original album version, a little bit dancing here and there, and you got Refuse To Dance = the best surprise she could offer to hardcore fans that love Celine not only as a singer, but as the sensual and beautiful woman that she is, but barely explodes.

Key moments: Céline lying, stretching and sliding on the piano, all while putting on sensual faces to Scott. It's like IWCT videoclip part II, but even better. Audience is mostly sat during this performance, but I want to believe it's just because they're just so focuse and jaw-dropping to the woman they're just seeing do what she's doing in front of them :wub:

Ah, just one mistake: when she music starts to play, many people start to leave for drinks! They think it's an interlude, but it isn't! They have to fix this so the audience remains seated and enjoys the full performance.

 

Only for this moment, I demand a DVD of this tour.

 

Black Or White: we keep on with the sexiness :wub: The fan/air machine moment: another moment not to miss on this tour. I just can't get enough of it. Of course, she also gets the audience to stand up here and dance again. Good choice to warm up for the final part of the show.

 

Love Of My Life: I'm not a Queen song, and I didn't know this one, but it's a grower. I got to have Celine like 4-5 meters from me when she runs to the center of the arena, and at that point, whatever she sings to you, she got you in her pockets :wub: She's as beautiful as you see her in the pictures, if not more. That smile of her can melt you down, when she looks at you, she makes you feel as if you're the only one in the hall. What a moment :blush: Unfortunately, I had to choose between taking pictures or video, so I decided to take a video instead, but in the end, the quality isn't that impressive, so I'm not sharing it since there are way better videos around. I just thanked God all the time for making me a tall guy because I can say I had the best views on that moment :giggle: Only the security guy separated me from getting closer to her.

 

So all in all, if I had to pick 3 songs from this tour, or the 3 best moments for me, that would be the Intro + TPOL, Refuse To Dance and Black Or White. These 3 moments sum up and combine pretty well what this tour has to offer: classic Celine, plus some new rare songs PLUS a sexy Celine that we barely get to see while performing.

 

The rest of the songs, you know about them, and what we think of most of them. The same ending with LCMM/RDMH/MHWGO, it's been all said many times. I gave up on criticising them because she's not going to give up on singing them either :down:

 

Could they have risked more? Of course. They can always improve and do better. I still think last summer tour she risked much more and had more surprises and included more new songs than this tour. I still think that 15 songs out of 24 that were already performed during the 2008 tour is a bit too much, but hey, it was my first Celine show so I'm not complaining for that. I saw a voice in top shape and that's what worried me the most, so I'm more than happy to bear witness that there's Celine with great voice for many years to come. Just wait for the French leg, and she will probably make up for the English setlist with more surprises!

 

These are not favourites of mine, but I think they deserve some words:

 

How Does A Moment Last Forever: I'm not crazy about this song, but she got an standing ovation, so I get she wants to perform it in this tour.

 

Recovering: this is a song that the more she performs it live, the more it grow on you. She has clear vocals and performs it beautifully. She got an standing ovation again and for one minute or even two, so I get she wanted to perform it in this tour.

 

HER VOICE: What to say about her voice. I'm glad I attended the 3rd and 4th shows of this tour, because her vocals are clear and powerful again. There wasn't any raspiness on Tuesday, only a bit on Wednesday but barely noticeable at some specific points.

 

In a nutshell, the energy and feedback she was getting from the audience at the O2 all the time surely helped her to make one of the best concerts vocally talking that I've seen her perform in the last 8-10 years. What a top shape voice, what an audience, in rave and applause permanently. Wish it had been filmed!
