They still can professionnally film the show and give it to us from free to download.

 

People do still buy DVDs. If they didn't, a mega company like Disney wouldn't release their new films on the format anymore. Denis' comment is just a cop out, not based in reality and I highly doubt he passed the word on to anyone. From his comment, I bet he just rolled his eyes snd went on with his day.

Fair enough! However, Celine and Madonna have released the same amount of Concert Tour DVDs. It is not as if Madonna has released much more. The last Concert Tour DVD by Madonna was released in 2013 and by Celine in 2014.

 

I also assume we will get a DVD from her Vegas show once the residency ends. That will be in 2019 or 2020 so to release a live album in mid/late 2017, possibly months before the English studio album release, is a move I find pointless. Better build the anticipation for the studio album IMO.

 

I know I know just said it because I saw almost at the same time the announcement of Madonna's new DVD and the Quote about people not wanting DVDs

and about the editing of the concerts you're absolutely right and not just Céline, nowadays the editing is so heavy the concerts have absolutely no flow...

Actually today they have camera crews on every show to picture Celine on the big screens, so they're already filming. It would be really easy to edit that and release it within DAYS after each show

 

There's no logic at all with Celine's team on this sorry

How can they assure that offering a DVD of her most recent tour on the merchandise stalls won't be of interest at all for the public? Good Lord, a concert DVD of a show is just what the public came to see! How could they not be interested? Unless they're casual fans.

 

If they had last summer's tour DVD for sale on the stalls during the French leg of this tour, let's see if people would buy it or not!

 

Music related products and DVDs should be the first #1 merch to offer on the stalls!

Back in 2006 my sister in law and I saw Celine in vegas. She knew a few of celine's songs but not all, never had albums etc. We came out of the show and she went straight into the boutique and bought CDLILV cd.

 

Nothing beats curling up on the sofa with drinks and munchies and putting a concert DVD on. The picture and sound quality obviously, and if there's bonus features hoorah! 👍

We need a concert DVD like Une Seule Fois because that's the last DVD we have and that was one of the best!! How much you wanna bet they're secretly going to do one?

I'm really loving the lighting of this tour, I just wish they would do it for LV thought it would be spectacular ..

A DVD release is unnecessary. They can give us a professionally recorded concert in many other ways. Whitney Houston has never once had a DVD concert but she has at least 10 concerts air on tv or sone form.

Personally, I can think of nothing worse than curling up on the sofa and watching a concert.

 

For me, there's no replay value in a DVD anymore - my consumption comes via YouTube and more often than not, I don't want to relive the random bits of speech: I just want the performance. So YouTube is ideal - as long as the quality is high, why wouldn't we want that?

Yep! It's quite well known (to more than your average fan) that the big note is lipped. Youtube it, there's a lot of videos on it.

So apparently they made no money from the last CD/DVD from 2013. That's what I've concluded, they thought it was unprofitable so they won't do another one. I still buy physical DVDs for my collection, I know I'm old school but I don't care! Well I guess Denis Savage just answered our question.

I don't really know where to post this, so I'm gonna do it here.

So... apparently Mrs Scott Price was in mother in law's shop last week, in St. Andrews, Scotland, before the London concerts.

They often ask how they come by St. Andrews (it's a posh shop) and she said her husband was Celine' s musical director.

All my mother in law said was I had seen her a couple of times (um 7 but whatever) and that we were seeing her in London.

She said she hoped we would have a great time.

To be fair, I don't know what I would like her to say, I would have been a babbling mess!

I think the USF DVD must have sold around 100k worldwide, which seems average at best. The release definitely under-performed in Canada, a fact which I found surprising. Edited June 24, 2017 at 11:58 PM by LukeD

The ending note of the song (when done live in her show from 2011-oct 2016) is the same note eb5. She has nailed the ending run several times well enough to where I think she could do it live if wanted.

 

 

The eb5 at the end sounds great. Granted that isn't sustained as long as it is in the lipped anymore but the overall run requires more breath and in my opinion is more challenging.

 

Though the quality is not great and there is a reporter talking over, this performance from February 2008 is live.
