So the Just Jared article has something like 30 pics of her little yoga show outside the hotel. But do we have any video? 😜

Oh my god. I did not know that we were still recording Lmao! I started my birthday drinks before the show and went bit too hard but hey, I normally go to celine alone - actually had a friend with me this time so started sooner on bday drinks lol. Somehow I had 5 beers at the show lol. Lord knows I did have to piss at the end!!

5 beers?! Honey...you must be young! #ItTakesMe9Margaritas :sofunny:

But wait, there's more!

A pic on his twitter of what I surmise is their little B&W recording session 😉

Trust me, I am LOVING the fact LIAWN is being performed. I'm just thinking of ways it could be enhanced so the general public could get into it, too.

Orrrrrrr you could just enjoy it for what it is, because you have waited so long for it. You're over analyzing, instead of enjoying, and I believe that is a very large contributor to most of your disappointment.

I would agree with that. They were rude & unhelpful. Never been spoken to like that in my life!

So to let you all know... last Tuesday just before her tour began I left Sydney on a cruise ship with no internet. 3 days later we stopped in Noumea in New Caledonia and I found wifi and this was my notification.

Then back on the ship and a week later turned my phone on (yesterday) and this:

Moral of the story: we have a bloody lot to say about this woman!

That being said, what they really should be focused on in terms of releasing HD footage, is an OTT strategy. Release concert footage on Netflix or Amazon or Hulu or the (now delayed) Vevo subscription service or YouTube Red. That's where the eyeballs (and money) are. Printing DVDs, you're only losing oodles of money and preaching to the choir (and a shrinking one, at that; I'm a die-hard fan, but I would definitely never buy a Celine tour DVD... what would I play it on? I have't had a DVD player nor a CD/ DVD slot in any of my computers for years...Plus it's such a hassle.)

As a content owner, you're in far better position to reach a new audience via a subscription OTT service than wasting money on DVDs.

True that's what we said.

Just put it online somewhere somehow!

First off what?!! No plans are they serious?!!! :wtf: First the 2016 Summer tour now this one?! And I'm getting this feeling they aren't going to film the Vegas show either ugh!! I doubt Davey asked about Vegas but I have to ask....

Um I still buy dvds!!!!

Now next point... This is very true if they don't want to waste time releasing a phsyical dvd that's fine by me but release it in SOME FORMAT!!!

Please tell me Davey suggested to him the idea of releasing it to youtube or amazon or even just to tv.

If not then PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO FUTURE SHOWS AND ARE GOING TO TRY AND TALK TO HER TEAM ABOUT THIS MENTION A RELEASE TO AMAZON OR ITUNES OR FACEBOOK LIVE OR TV JUST SOMETHING ANY FORMAT.

I think this is what we've been doing wrong this whole time we are telling them about DVD we need to ask them in GENERAL TERMS of a release.

P.s. I apologize for the bold and the capital letters but I need to get my point across.

Now that my meltdown is over with let us resume our normal convo :-D :giggle:

Meh... The songs that aren't 'well known' to the average fan don't get the best reactions (i.e. Recovering). I hope she gets a good reaction!

I don't remember which city, but she got a hearty standing ovation for "Recovering." It's a beautiful song, and I prefer it live, over the recording.

Anyone who leaves a concert before the lights come on is an amateur who doesn't deserve to be at a concert.

Like watching a Marvel movie and leaving before the end of the credits.

It's PopCulture 101 in 2017!

Haha! I don't get it when people get up to leave when the singer hasn't even performed their 'most famous song'. Who does that?! :giggle:

5 beers at a Celine concert is pretty bad don't you think? Lmao. Once I thought about it afterwards I was like holy moly that certainly wasn't where my night ended either. Happy birthday lol

And being a bartender i must say, if it takes you 9 margaritas to get tipsy you're doing it wrong and drinking either cheap tequila or premixed watered down crap passed as a margarita. Stick with top shelf!! And don't forget the grand Marnier.

Back to celine, I just really wanted to take a moment to commend her vocals this tour. Commend the bravery to really sing some difficult songs vocally, as well as emotionally too. Who would have thought after 22 years not singing it now she woujld sing her wedding song??

I know many don't like playback being brought up, but I just want to say I am so OVER THE MOON about the fact she has dropped six different playback tracks for usual playback songs.

I drove all night sounds so much better when she can cut loose and sing to the audiences feel. I don't mind the lower key at all.

The reason- wow, it sounds even better than it did back in 1999 when she sang it. A couple performances a little tired sounding but others are flawless. I'm amazed so much by this hearing her belt it out. Blows me away.

Taking chances- I guess I always thought her lipping the last chorus before was silly. But during promo of that time she never could quite match that note to how the album version sounded. The 8 or 9 times she did do it live on tv were meh. But this tour - best yet on that last chorus. I know many are indifferent to this song but I love it now more than ever !!!

My heart will go on - loving that (even if for just this tour) they're giving her the flexibility to sing the notes if she wants, or let the audience too whichever. She sounds better than she did last September for sure. Even after 20 songs.

Misled & treat her like a lady - okay even if they are dropped I still loved this because misled has only seen live vocals twice and treat her like a lady once. Both performances were phenomenal in copenhagen. I wish she would give lcmm/rdmh a break for these few shows. Hearing her nail most of the adlibs in THLAL was fun - can tell she rehearsed it a bit!

The percentage of live vocals is the highest percentage we have seen in any tour since maybe Celine Dion or unison. And there's not one single song lipped from start to finish which hasn't happened ever , all are partial playback(bylm basically full though lol). Kinda neat stay.

And of course I need to commend her in general for songs like think twice and colour of my love. Wow, reviving some oldies and singing them perfectly!! Hearing her showcase the voice is what I've wanted. I'm so glad we are getting that!!!!!! Refuse to dance is a sexy moment and she sounds wonderful. That is perhaps the biggest surprise to me!!! And while I'm not a huge fan of love is all we need, I am happy they tried something new - so I enjoy it for that reason.

Giving us that's the way it is in its original arrangement - crucial. I think her team will see the audience reaction and change it in Vegas. No one gives a crap about this song in Vegas but everyone on tour loses their minds and sings every word.

The covers are fair. I understand why black and white survived the medley removal - the boys. And show must go on is basically her song now, I think it'll be a staple for awhile. The other song is beautiful- 2 covers , 3 I can deal with..

My only wish is that they could transfer this to Vegas, but even if the voice and setlist could go there, the energy would not.

These last two years have really shown Celine still has it especially on tour. I've never been so ready for Vegas to be over -more touring, less Vegas.

I think that her opening this tour has been the best ever.

I love the intro to The Power of Lovs and the fact that you hear her for about 30 seconds before you see her - and then when you do eventually see her, the crowd erupts. It's quite amazing.

Her status these days is essentially unrivalled - the respect she seems to command these days is unlike anything I have ever seen in music - and it's amazing to see.

A shame to read about tickets for Leeds :(

Alright...

The show was on!!!!!!

She was on fire

Security wanted us to sit down.

She told security it took her 20 minutes to get us all up and dance.

Then she sang very lazy a bit of IDAN, altering the text haha

Reaction of the crowd was awesome, didn't expected that.

IMO the "middle" part with the ballads is a bit to long.

I LOVED TCOML  that was pure magic, first time ever that I really cried at her show. Soo sooo beautiful.

The people who think the reaction to RTD is boring should be there.

It's not a song to go wild at, her voice is golden just sit, watch, listen

And for the complainers that she should drop LCMM/RDMH.

She shouldn't. When you read the setlist you want them to replace them for new songs.

When your in the audience, the crowd goes crazy. The only 2 songs where everybody goes really crazy.

This! I was thinking privately to myself that LCMM/RDMH (+TSMGO) might help hype up the audience before going to the last HIGHLIGHT but I was not sure to say as I'm not the live audience in the venue. But wow that's great that you pointed out that those songs really helped energize the audience. :)

Let us not forget a certain Lindsey Stirling is the top-paid woman on YouTube. On the back of her music videos. Like, we're talking $6m/year kinda money (2015 Fores estimate), and she came from nowhere, without a massive pre-existing fan base. And that's from free ad-supported YouTube. Now she's also on the YouTube Red subscription service with exclusive content.

(Given that an artist makes something like 10% off retail gross from a CD sale, let's estimate, back of envelope, a $10 DVD would net her $1. So she'd need to sell 6 million DVDs to make that kind of $... think of that in context of Celine's ~1 million copies sold of EUS. Bottom line = selling DVDs doesn't make any commercial sense.)

Now THAT, is the kind of stuff Celine should be doing.

I hope so but I still wonder about her team's perception about Youtube platform. Because until now, they are still locking her recent BBMAs' MHWGO performance on Youtube to not viewable for all countries. LoL

Celine doesn't make "just" 10%.

Since the mid 90s, she's reportedly commanded the highest royalty rate of any non-songwriter in the business - between 20-25% of every sale goes back to Celine. Rene was a beast in business, that and live performance is why she is so damn wealthy ($800m).

Not sure if this extends to DVDs as well.

So we move on.

I'm really looking forward to Leeds, though I suspect it will be a very emotional one, considering the reason behind the venue being moved.

Both Veronic & Celine have mentioned the atrocities in the shows so far. I think there may be tears.

But at least he had something that grab... not great for a girl to do though I agree lol.

Pretty sure She has :P

Make sure you check your net browsing history before such statements ;)

Whatever form of expression She may choose, it comes with the "whole artistic package", sojust let it be...

I would love to see You and I, One Heart, Unison or Did you give enough love done. I miss Misled, but those are all good alternatives! On another note, I had never heard Love Of My Life before, but the line, "don't take it away from me because you don't know what it means to me", that gets me every single time without fail. Though I did not know this song at the time, five years ago when I lost my sight, if there could have been a caption above my head, it would have been that line. Just saying, that's how that song, and particularly that part, effects me!

Sorry to hear that, hope you have plenty of blessings to cherish daily ><

I enjoy the soft line "bring it back..."

I am still amazed of the huge difference of fav songs amongst us members who share them :)

Davey asked Denis Savage about a possible dvd.

There weren't any plans.

Who buys dvds he said :/

But he will pass it forward to the people who make those decisions.

Don't get it!

What about her fans? What about all those who want to keep a memento of her incredible voice and looks at 49?

Does this mean they will also stop releasing new Celine albums because they don't sell 30 millions each like in the 1990's???

Simply don't get it.

Btw no one has talked about how many songs she sings live on this tour! It's pretty incredible don't you think?

Really???!!!! Would that be the reason for not making a DVD... people don't buy DVD's anymore??? :hmm:

How can we convince them otherwise?!
