Stuff like this really underscores how insane it is that Celine has been selling out this show for 16 years, over 1100+ performances. Just... wow. It's really such an amazing feat.

Rene was truly a genius and way ahead of the game and Celine will always be the most successful act in Vegas. Her, Elvis, Frank Sinatra.

 

It was genius for Rene to do this while the recording industry / record sales took such a nose dive in the 2000s.

 

She dominated the 90s at the height of selling massive records.

She dominated Vegas.

Now that everyone else is rushing to Vegas, she’s moving on to a new chapter and nobody will ever come close to her success.

 

Listening to Celine’s early French albums again, I’m realizing how strategic Rene was with Celine’s career. So iconic.

I think one area That her team excels in is Reading the forecast in Vegas. They seem to know when to begin and end a residency. We saw the same thing happened to Bette Midler after “a new day...” Then she went on to leave Las Vegas right before the big recession and returned after it stabled a bit in 2011.

Yes, she was lucky to have Rene as a manager and husband. He was brillant. BTW 20 years ago on a flight to Dallas (LTAL-Tour), Rene discovered the knot on his.neck.

The last show in Vegas will be very epic and emotional.

I put together a 14 song concert featuring performances from different points throughout this second residency. It's a compilation of pro footage and audience footage, but the audio is 100% professional. It premieres tomorrow on YouTube at noon Eastern time (9 a.m. Pacific/18h00 Central European). Yes exactly! For the other songs, the audio is either from Tokyo or pro audio from Vegas over the years. :) Edited by brendanm999

I’m going Tuesday night, and I’m sooooooo pumped to hear her at the Coliseum for the first time!! I really am hoping her vocal chords got lots of rest the past few weeks, and we get the best performance possible!

I hope you guys enjoy this. I initially came up with this idea years ago when Rene ended up extending the initial contract. I never perused it though because I always hoped we'd get an official dvd. Anyways after we heard about the final dates being released I got in touch with Brendan and he was so wonderful and was like "yeah let's do this" so our initial plan was we were going to do a mashup of pro footage with screen footage but when Brendan went to do the editing we realized we didn't have sufficient screen footage so we ended up going with as much pro footage as possible along with HD footage from the shows through the years. We really hope you guys enjoy it tomorrow but really I want everyone to give major props to Brendan cause this took alot of time and without him it wouldn't have even been possible. The good Lord know I am useless in editing so lol! Anyways yeah this was just a little something we wanted to give back to those fans who really did enjoy this second residency and the journey that went along with it. So see you all tomorrow and enjoy.

Christmas songs are a given if you’re performing at Christmas time :rolleyes: and she only performed one: the christmas song.

 

And TC had been in since the single was released, so no, neither were special for the last run

Christmas songs are not a given.... when did she sing a Christmas song in Vegas in the last few years?

She hasnt been performing at Christmas time so why would she perform christmas songs... shes only been performing starting at NYE or the night before and then performing through January AFTER christmas

 

Almost all singers will do a christmas song or two if they’re performing in mid december - christmas time. She hasnt been performing at that time, so why would she do an XMAS song?
