Well, funnily from the full video of MHWGO into CHFIL she sounds stronger than she has all year at this point, MHWGO the belts on “where eeeever you are” and “ooooopen the door” sounded better than April 3rd

Nope, but it wouldnt really make sense for them to change anything, they only have 15 shows left

Can’t wait to leave for Vegas in a few days...time to say goodbye to this era. Saw my first show there in 2011 and she’s evolved beautifully!

I know it's kinda unlikely but it would be really cool to have like a "retrospective show" on June 8. Céline performing songs that once made the setlist since 2003: A New Day Has Come, Et je t'aime encore, I Wish, Open Arms, Immortality, If I Could, What a Wonderful World, All The Way, If I Can Dream, Have You Ever Been In Love, ... :wub:

I attended yesterday's show.

 

Couple of remarks:

 

- She sounded good. Nasal, but I guess that's the new normal now. I loved Ashes and the medley a lot. She did add a lot of 'frills' to most of the songs.

 

- She looked great. The anorexia crowd needs to come see her live and up close, because she is TINY but FIT af.

Dem legs, I mean...:wub:

 

- SHE TOUCHED MY HAND. I repeat: SHE TOUCHED MY HAND!! :wub:

 

- Wireless mic is back, but I wouldn't be surprised if she changes it again today 😜 Could't care less though.

 

- The crowd was pretty dead except for the first few rows. There were several drunk people and one woman got into an altercation with some gay couple (my sis-in-law thought she heard her using a gay slur...like ffs)

Funnily she doesnt really sound nasal in that clip, more her making weird vowels like “auuuuauuau” or “uer” but maybe thats just me

I think she makes her voice a little more nasal and also "froggy" (this sound like she's tightening her throat, I'm no professional vocalist so I don't know what to call it) during her Vegas show, maybe a way of not tiring out her voice. But she sounded very good last night.

 

When I saw her back in March that was my first take away. She's not as skinny as she looks in pictures, she's super fit.

 

You're so lucky. She came close to touching my hand and then didn't :cry: :laugh:

 

I wish I was able to go to one more show before the end but oh well.

Her hand is super tiny and super soft ❤

 

Happened again tonight (will post more later). She came straight at me and held my hand for a full second and I'm still in Heaven 😊

I saw a performance of PQTME from the show from recently (a clip from insta) and she changed it so much she almost "talk sang" it. It was atrocious, I couldn't even believe it. Plus she looked like she was on crack, doing all these weird and dramatic hand movements and stuff and strange ad libs constantly (even weirder than her normal), it was so bizarre. She's gotten so odd with her performances, it's quite cringey for me. I haven't watched a full interview for years because she always breaks out in song and it's uncomfortable. As excited as I am for new music and a new tour, she really needs some vocal rest, her voice is so deep and nasal now, it's really not super pleasant. I hate that I feel this way, but I feel how I feel.

Well ladies and gentlemen, you heard it here first : Celine Dion is on crack

 

And she hardly has control over her voice deepening or becoming more nasal, deepening happens regardless and.... umm..... shes Québécois, nasality In vocals is a given

Good. It's about time she stopped singing these songs straight like she did for decades! More improv, please. Long overdue.

Exactly, from 1995-2016 she performed the song identically to the studio version, let her have some fun

 

 

What i will say is she may need to fix the ad libs as I dont know how well they will go over in Montreal lol

Well Montreal have a history of not liking it when Celine changes things, biggest example being the hate she received for becoming “an english artist” then when she changed her hair in 2003 too... not to mention that even when she was doing PQTME in Paris in 2017 and there were 2 or 3 ad libs in that, people got confused and stopped and started singing, there are a few videos showing that. It would be like if she just started changing the melody of MHWGO, people would be miffed and confused

Well tough titty for them- if they are going to see her live, let her have the freedom to sing as she wants. Rene made her sing her recordings note for note the same as the album for decades so it's about time she changes them up. And as her voice changes, she can't hit and sustain the same notes with the same power so does the melismas etc. to decorate/hide that fact

I wouldn’t necessarily say she CANT hit and sustain the big notes anymore, its just that on her schedule, consistently it would be way too big of a challenge on her voice, especially considering her voice has aged. I also think she’s quite the perfectionist, and wants everyone to listen to the classics and reminise, she doesnt want people to think shes went down the tubes or if her voice breaks etc that shes done.

Yep agree- and I know she can still hit them, just maybe with not the same 's h i t the bed' way she used to
