Interesting. But no mention of the world tour! :o

Because of the contract and her exclusivity of US performances while she’s at Caesar’s. It makes sense why she doesn’t mention it.

I didn't know love until they loved me back to life because somebody loves somebody!

For the final chapter of this Vegas run, if Celine were to bring back some songs from the "Celine" show between 2011 and now (such as IMMORTALITY, WHERE DOES MY HEART BEAT NOW, etc.) -- what songs would y'all like to see again??

They should give away a few tickets to some of her BIGGEST fans who have not gotten the chance to see her.

She should definitely do something special for the final show. At least, a TV special like this one. I also wonder if she'll be holding a press conference on June 8th.

This show just seemed to fizzle out. The premiere and first runnings of the show were awesome. One of the most exciting times of her career. The footage of her and Rene bringing the babies to Vegas remains in my memory.

But when they redid the show it just never was the same after that. It doesn't appear that we will get a DVD and that is a shame because I was really touched by the first run of her show. Not even a live album - and her voice at the beginning of this show were out of this world. Just a shame.

It’s okay tho, they gave us a Live album from “A New Day...Live In Las Vegas” the year when her voice was at its worst. :rolleyes:

Yeah I don't know what happened in that recording and what were they thinking to approve this release (René???). Some songs sound with amazing vocals (Et je t'aime encore) while others sound as if she was totally drunk and on a hype after partying all night (I'm Alive).

 

I think at that time of the residency they realised she wouldn't make it to the end of the contract if she performed totally live all the shows (more than 200 shows per year remember :wacko: ) so she was trying different vocal techniques so as not to force/give her 100% in each show?

 

Whatever happened, it wasn't certainly the best live example of her voice at that time, and neither the song setlist was the best to release a CD... I only listen to this album for EJTME and the 2 great studio recordings...

I think that’s exactly what it was. She was holding back alot and making herself more nasal to preserve her voice.. as can be heard in TFTEISYF where she goes extremely nasal as opposed to belting properly. The scaling back from like 190 shows (March 2003-March 2004) to 120 shows in 2007 really made a difference as the two different audios show. She sounded alot better in 2007 than she did on that dvd

I totally agree with you in her holding back for a normal show.

 

However, if one is recording a LIVE album or DVD, as a singer it’s those nights where you push yourself to your highest limits!

At the very least, I’m sure something special will be done for Celine during the final performance.

 

Although I also hope she does add in a special song or two.
