Well Montreal have a history of not liking it when Celine changes things, biggest example being the hate she received for becoming “an english artist” then when she changed her hair in 2003 too... not to mention that even when she was doing PQTME in Paris in 2017 and there were 2 or 3 ad libs in that, people got confused and stopped and started singing, there are a few videos showing that. It would be like if she just started changing the melody of MHWGO, people would be miffed and confused

 

She actually has somewhat changed certain things in MHWGO and it was lovely.

She actually has somewhat changed certain things in MHWGO and it was lovely.

 

Yeah definitely, i love the way she does the little run in “neaaaaaaaar farrrr” and “ooooooooooonce more”

 

 

Yep agree- and I know she can still hit them, just maybe with not the same 's h i t the bed' way she used to

 

 

And definitely, however id say this performance here is a testament to the fact that if she actually wants to, she can deliver 90s level vocals to this day :

I attended my last Vegas-show yesterday and WHAT an experience, I will never forget.

 

Because an Australian lady was kind enough to switch places with me, I was able to sit next to @flymetothemoon. And let me tell you, we had such a blast.

 

First of all, we noticed straight away that Céline's voice sounded better than the day before. The audience seemed more enthusiastic (me & flymetothemoon definitely did our part 😊) and Céline loved it. The Ashes speech was a bit snappier too.

 

Then for the pit, we had the *best* places. Céline touched both of our hands several times. We got brave and were screaming so much (I think I yelled 'queen of the universe' at one point, I didn't know I had it in me lmao). She was looking at us a lot and we both could've just died on the spot 😩

 

Anyway, I made a couple of videos:

Yeah she does sound better there, her voice sounded just thicker and stronger. Sounded a little less nasal, probably the first show warmed her up vocally. Also she looks a bit heavier here, her chest looks fuller than it did. She looks gorg in general

Anyway, think thats from the asian tour, the skyline doesnt match Vegas (to me) but it does match singapore

This is simply proof that when shes doing her shows in vegas the lipping is for preservation and that she’s deliberately more nasal and doesnt attempt as many notes because of that. Because here she is in Vegas, sounding way better than she did at either show

 

 

 

by the way, Fcachoi has a live video of BYLM, Ashes, MHWGO and BATB in full and they all sound better than her previous shows. MHWGO here sounds better than April 3rd imo. The audio is pretty poor but you can easily decipher all the important notes lol

in better quality! I'm in awe. I wish she would performed like this more! Ashes sounds amaziong without the pre-recorded humming tracks. Anyway, i would have fainted if SHE sings that close to me!

Haven't seen a lot of clips from last Vegas shows, but her Vegas show hair looks longer and blonder than this one :wub:

 

 

She looks so good in those clips for a limited crowd! Why couldn't she look like that on Carpool for millions of viewers? :giggle: (I'm still not over it! :lmao:)

Yeah, this is probably as close to her natural hair as we will see. The Vegas hair is BLONDE and is FULL of extensions, glad to see it like this because IMO it looks better

MILLIONS. Id say for an event like this where she performed 4 songs 100% live of her own accord, with her own musicians.... $2,000,000 probably, especially considering shes in the middle of a vegas run

I literally dont know what you mean.

 

Her voice has deepend and her nasality has increased, that is what happens to all women, the nasality especially for french singers. So unfortunately it was inevitable

 

However, i listen to her singing in the Deux and Falling Into you era, and often she could sound shrill and her belts she would hit them on a “aiiiiiiii” vowel and they would sound thin and weak.

 

Hence why ive always preferred how she sounded early on in the LTAL tour because her voice was thicker and richer, it sounded more powerful

 

 

The reason why people think people like Mariah and Celines voices have gotten bad is because they no longer put the effort they used to into their performances. They’ve proven themselves over and over and so they dont go past 50-60% usually.

 

Thats what they did in their primes, constantly singing outside their range or trying to sound as powerful as possible to make an impact, trying hard to sound as powerful as possible. But why continue to put yourself through that when youre established?

 

Nowadays they dont HAVE to put all the effort in, not talking for days, sleeping in humidified rooms, doing vocal warm ups for 2 hours before each show, they shouldnt have to.

 

And theres rare occasions when mariah and celine do go to 70,80,90% full throttle vocals and they sound incredible, but its down to choice. If They really wanted to, they could go back to an insane regimine and giving their all in every single song. But why should they have to?

 

 

The private concert last night showed the extra nasality and froggyness celine has in her voice is put on as a mechanism to ensure shes not pushing herself, and to preserve her voice... shes not really trying. The only time she really tried recently was when she was doing Think twice in vegas.

 

The climax she did last night was incredible, the high notes were a bit raspy but they sounded good. The actual “and i knoooow” and “you are saaaaafe” sounded clear and bright. Shes not as vocally inept as you try to make out
