Agreed, over the last few years his voice has kind of deteriorated. It sounds like hes forcing his voice a lot, struggling to keep up during BATB

True. Celine recorded several classics but it's time to release and perform new songs. ;)

Definitely not. His voice is louder, Naturally hes a tenor, however he sounds like hes struggling alot, needing to keep stopping to breath and sounds like its taking alot of effort to hit the notes that used to be extremely easy less than 5 years ago

Nice to know she still occasionally does private events. What's perplexing is why she'd do it for a shady pyramid scheme...

I mean, it's been a long time since she did an event for, say, Fondation Maman Dion. Yet she chose to do this. She must have had a good reason?

But on a related note, here's what I'd like to know re private gigs: Is there an unspoken rule in the Dion family that you don't ask aunt Celine to sing at your wedding?

She's got so many nieces and nephews and their kids, etc. etc. I'm sure it's come up, and I'm sure she did it up to a point. But after a while... there are so many! And if she does one, she'd have to do the others! And it's such a massive family, surely they're not all that close.

I think it probably is. I dont think Celine wants to sing at their weddings, they may not want her to sing at their weddings, they might view it as too cliche. But youre right they’re probably not all that close. One things for sure if RC gets married she wont be singing at his wedding lol

Not at all. I fail to see how it's remotely cringe.

No one, and i mean NO ONE. Even if their mom was the greatest singer alive, even if their mom was mariah, whitney and celine all mixed into one. Wants their mother to sing at their wedding, its cringe. Especially when youre surrounded by it everyday and their whole career is based upon it. Its way too cliche and would simply be cringe. That would be like singing at your own wedding. Boys especially are usually subject to cringe when their mother does mostly anything. RC is probably no different

Maybe you are embarrassed by your mother, but not everyone is. You might be projecting...

Thinking your worldwide famous singer mother singing at your wedding is cringe is completely different from being embarrassed by your mother. PLEASE learn the difference

And i think its actually quite disgusting to assume im embarrassed of my mother but after seeing some of the things said on here that go unpunished im not even surpised anymore, but saying someone is embarrassed of their mother is a personal attack and was scummy of you to do. Congrats.

Huh? What a bizarre take. What do you base that on?

There is absolutely nothing cringe about the idea of Celine singing at her child's wedding one day.

Beautiful? Yes.

Cringe? Not even remotely.

I said you might be projecting, I didn't say you were.

It was the only reason I could think of why you would be so categorical.

But I guess the likelier explanation is that you just like trouble. Which means there's absolutely no point in me carrying on this discussion, I'm done.

So wagering a personal attack on someone accusing them of being embarrassed of their own mother, then youre surprised they take offence to it and immediately say theyre looking for an argument after you instigated one. Makes COMPLETE sense

Considering this had been the whole basis of youre argument its a big thing to point out, that what you just said is entirely in YOUR opinion. And thats a big factor. But its a known fact, people saying they cringe when their parents sing. Regardless of their talent or ability. Its a natural thing to cringe or tell them to stop. RC literally would cry when celine used to sing. That says it all.

Sorry, I don't follow your point.

You said "No one, and i mean NO ONE." would want Celine singing at their wedding. And I'm questioning the basis of that generalization.

So sorry, but I lost you. Confused what you're referring to.

The basis of my argument is that I think the idea of it happening is the exact opposite of cringe, and am very surprised anyone would consider it such.

But its a known fact, people saying they cringe when their parents sing. Regardless of their talent or ability.

And it's a long way from that, to saying "No one, and i mean NO ONE" would want it. I have many friends who grew up in the arts community, and many of them had their parents perform at their weddings. Happily. And none of those parents are Celine. I truly don't see how anyone in RC's shoes wouldn't want it - except perhaps if they felt it would make her the center of attention, on what is supposed to be his special day.

Yeah, when he was 6 months old. He's so obviously super proud of her now.

Bottom line is I'm super surprised anyone would feel the way you do (perhaps it's an age thing - I suppose that's how many 19-year-olds feel about their parents, though I personally never did). And even more surprised anyone would be so categorical in assuming that absolutely no-one in the would want it. I find that reaction genuinely strange.

Anyway, I'm done here, since we're going around in circles debating a hypothetical that may or may not happen some time in the future, and is seriously off topic.

Over and out.

I can’t wait to hear her dedicate “If I Could” to the entire world again!

“Id like to dedicate this song to all the parents and children of the world”, As Kathy Griffin said in her stand up, “just say everyone l, that’s everyone Celine” :sofunny:

I know plenty of people who not only enjoyed their parents’ talent, but took to the stage WITH them in front of audiences.

Where do you get your statistics?

You genuinely, seriously think i meant no one would want Celine to sing at their wedding? Yeah, you’ve clearly missed the point entirely. Its that no one at HIS AGE with a mom of THAT STATUS would want said parent performing at THEIR wedding. Not that no one wants Celine to perform at their wedding, but thats simply proved that youre just not getting the point at all and/or are just unable to understand how psychology works. But thats fine

I know what I read.

It's fine to say you meant something different than what you wrote and clarify your point without attacking people, you know.

And for what it's worth, I have a PhD in psychology, so the joke's on you.
