Ok now she's performing Thursday night on Jimmy Fallon... One can only wonder why! Zero need or point to promote Encore un Soir in America... I bet she's dropping her first single tomorrow.

Surely she's not singing in French on Fallon, and then for the Today show doing a greatest hits medley only.

Actually there is an album to promote : EUS that can pre-ordered as from today in the USA.

Back in 1995 she sold more than 200.000 album of D'Eux / The French album. Of course those figures cannot be reached any longer, but why not promoting it.

 

The AMA put Celine's French card back on the musical map. It's an advantage to be the modern Edith Piaf 😉

Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive fan of EUS and her French catalogue. I just can't see her signing up for a Today Concert a Series in New York based around it. If she doesn't sing Recovering I predict the lipped IACBTMN/TPOL medley with maybe MHWHO and an upbeat number but overall I'm fascinated to see what this represents for her in terms of new management style. Always really predictable and safe I think and now there are signs of fresh and different.

Melodically lovely I agree but the song feels one minute like its about Rene, and the next minute about Rene-Charles.

 

On a separate note, I wouldn't complain for a second if the next album sounds like One Heart. I know that was a bit of a rushed job but I'd take that over TC or LMBTL any day. As soon as I hear an interview where she calls herself edgy I roll my eyes.

I doubt she will perform "Recovering". She is just about to release a new French album and everything should be concentrated on its promotion. We actually don't have any special detail about her upcoming English material except a vague date of it's release (2017) and that Céline recorded the song written by Pink called "Recovering". Who says that "Recovering" will be the first single? We know nothing. Not only they could ruin the promotion of "Encore un soir" by releasing a new English single in the same time, but it would also be a huge mistake to promote it so long before the release of the album. Let's have a patience

Aaand I don't want to be a party pooper buuut... it's not a High season for promotion... just see these days guests at jimmy fallon... not big stars... but even with that .. I think Aldo is doing great with Celine in media almost each month for this and for that... good movement

For the past decade or so Celine has been singing covers in so many popular programs:

 

- Dance With My Father in 2004 Grammy Awards

- At Seventeen in 2008 GN Tv Special

- Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel) in 2011 on the Oprah show that marked her return to show-business after her break.

- Smile in 2011 Academy Awards

- Hymne A L'amour in 2015 AMAs

- The Show Must Go On in 2016 on BMAs

 

She is the go-to artist to fill certain segments on such ceremonies. I think it is about time she shows the most original aspect of her artistry! Almost a necessity IMO!

This has me thinking there really might be a slim chance that she's performing "Recovering" tonight or tomorrow. Clearly the song is done and she knows it and shared some of it with us. Hopeful!

He said, "Imagine a song like Firework sung by Celine, it would be a hit".

I think Celine is at a stage in her career where she can choose whatever she wants. She's not a young, new artist trying to make it. She's an established pro, she doesn't have to try and please anyone anymore. I think we give her less credit than she deserves when it comes to music/business/career choices.

In Journal de montreal article she says how she's always been creative and now it's more than ever. And also she said that it was so exciting for her to decide that she will start and end a show with acapella, she will not change a costume etc. In la presse both Scott Price and Aldo speak about how many ideas she gives, for music, lyrics etc. She insisted to include not very well known songs because she wanted people to discover them. I hope someone will be able to translate it nicely and fully later. It's a great thing that she finally gets credits, but I don't understand why Celine couldn't decide like that before, at least essential points of the show, I guess she relied only on Rene and believed him and a team completely
