Hopefully this will be a rock ballad because I keep going back to the ET interview and Celine saying "get ready" and the little raise of her eyebrows, like she's giving us a hint, that it is not going to be expected! Can't wait!

I am so over Sia and her moronic "can't see my face" crap. All of her songs are starting to sound alike. I want songs written by Celine herself or an unknown writer. Maybe brig back Maria Christensen or Charlie Dore.

I don't think of Sia's song as a reject just because a different artist chose not to record it. Certain songs just suit certain people better than others. Also, every artist has moments when they are more current and moments when they are kind of "off the radar" so to speak. That doesn't mean she isn't a great singer and extremely talented.

more exactly a rock/symphonic ballad à la It's all coming back to me now / I Surrender or Cher's If I Could Turn Back Time, because I think it's very much what she is at her best - Celine has rock roots (I guess due to her brothers/sisters singing all the 70s songs at home) - and she is the definite big voice diva. Rock symphonic (orchestra, band, choir) sticks to her skin for what concerns her English sounds. And she would be unique in the current pop music scene now. Both classic and new.

Melodically lovely I agree but the song feels one minute like its about Rene, and the next minute about Rene-Charles.

 

On a separate note, I wouldn't complain for a second if the next album sounds like One Heart. I know that was a bit of a rushed job but I'd take that over TC or LMBTL any day. As soon as I hear an interview where she calls herself edgy I roll my eyes.

I don't think the english album is any way near to completion. Wasn't she quoted in saying a few days ago she hopes that people they love like Sia and Bruno Mars send her songs?? I'm sure I read that somewhere. If that's true then she's still finding songs for the album.

I'd prefer the new album to sound like LTAL. To be bombastic and cinematic but with its poetic, subtle moments! More coherent though and with better track sequence.
