I don't think Humberto has ANYTHING to do with this. Nor does Céline. I'm pretty sure she didn't go into the studio to record this. She just agreed to make this happen.

 

I think the intentions were good but the result is subpar.

 

I hope they release Encore un soir right away so we can forget about this.

I really hope you're right. Because thinking of her recent recordings, "L'Hymne" was also awful to my ears...

 

So, I'm scared...

I applaud her team for the attempt and effort, we rarely see this from her team, well done.

 

I don't understand why there is so much negativity. In terms of the arrangements of the music, I think it is fine. I can't say I like her vegas version more, as I always thought her vegas version is a bit distracting (too much going on).

 

In regards of her vocal, it is definitely less polished, but I don't find that much different from how she sings in vegas nowadays. As some of u have said before, sometimes the way celine sings in vegas, how she projects her voice, her pronunciation may sounds lazy and less polished than how she sang in the 90s. But i have come to accept that's how celine has evolved by now, so i guess that's also why i don't find this studio version as awful as some people on this forum think.

I'm not for the single being canceled. However, I do hope people will message her team with HONEST feedback, both good and bad.

Well. Cancel it, sing it this sunday and then when most people loved it, go in the studio and make a good studioversion.

I have no doubt the live Performance of this will he the Vegas version and will be great.

I don t think it will be that beethoven version because that famous violinplayer does not have a prominent role then.

Agree on the first part, but ....if they are releasing this song it's because this is what it's going to be performed....anyway I'm pretty sure LIVE we're gonna have a whole different experience and it will be amazing and emotional

Cancel it. Ain't nobody buying SMGO now anyways.

 

All they have to do is release the same live version she will sing on Sunday night.

No extra work needed. Couldn't be simpler.

I'm telling you call to calm down because it will be the Vegas version. The only reason this old vocal song was even released was for publicity and to "milk the cow" for say. This is TC taking advantage of a opportunity.

That would've called for Celine to go into the studio. This thing has been recorded since 2008 or 2009 and was hidden until now.

I really like the instrumentation actually, possibly more than the Vegas version (though I also hope that she does that version on Sunday). it's the production of the vocals that I have an issue with, especially during the chorus where they are way too loud! I'm probably in the minority in that I like the raspiness of the big notes, besides the scream. I truly hope that she doesn't try to replicate that on Sunday, lol. Edited by exfactor003

I'm calm, I don't even mind the version she chooses...pretty sure on a live performance it will sound amazing either way (my problem it's just with the production of this "studio" version, stitched, butchered, distorted)

Even the singing technique... the only thing that makes me wonder is the ending... she's using the Vegas ending so maybe they used a mic feed from Vegas?

I'm grateful they threw us a bone before "Encore un soir". This beats "there comes a time" any day. Let's be glad Celine's making her return to music, take this as a gift, and move on.

 

I agree, I hate auto-tune.

 

It's not a great song or vocals but sadly this isn't her worst song guys... Just go listen to " Let Your Heart Decide" or "There Comes A Time".

 

But that scream by Celine for bloody murder should've never happened. The auto tune makes no sense. But I'm not worried about her voice these vocals are clearly from a week period of 2008-2009.

 

Seriously, what's so bad about "There Comes A Time"? Do you really think this new recording everyone is tearing apart here is as bad as There Comes A Time? What's bad in that song, vocally speaking? I don't notice any bad vocals in that 2007 recording. Her vocals in TC were spot on, including those in There Comes A Time, so I don't understand a thing :hmm: :unsure:
