My heart breaks for her... I never thought I'd someday see her in so much pain... she looks so strong but at the same time so sad, devasted, empty... it hurts me so much to see her like that.

I just watched the funeral on YouTube. "L'amour existe encore" hit me hard. Plus, the putting on of the rings, the "LV" sign, her mom consoling her and the way she looked back at the church afterwards just slayed me. I bawled my eyes out this morning.

Yeah. It saddens me to think that might be forever gone for her. They must have discussed it, and I'm sure Rene wouldn't want her to spend the rest of her life mourning him, but I just can't imagine her moving on at all.

She's going to be so lonely...

And it must be doubly hard if you make a living singing love songs.

I wonder how long before we see her laugh again. Really laugh.

This sadly reminds me of the extract of her official biography where she is said to imagine herself aging alone with nobody surrounding her. I remember reading it à long time ago and think: "Wow this is gloomy" but now I feel like maybe she was playing safe to protect herself from heartbreak with a very long stick. I wish her well. I haven't been able to watch the open casket & funeral but reading most of your posts helped me follow the whole thing from a distance. I'll try to catch up this week-end. Boy it's gonna be a tough one.

So has anyone recorded the ceremony? We're not in a hurry but I think many of us would like to download it....

I hope they will stream the celebration of life too.

If some of you are like me, you feel like you've lost something that you can't quite put into words. For me, Céline's music has been such a huge part of my life, and I feel like I owe René a huge debt of gratitude that will never be fully expressed. I have always admired her family since I don't have that type of upbringing. My parents were divorced, remarried, and siblings were definitely not loving/close in any way. The one thing I can say that I have in common with Céline is the fact that I've been with my husband for what seems like my entire life. We began dating when I was only fifteen, got married at nineteen, and will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary this year. I can't imagine the feelings she is going through right now because I'm not sure what I would do without the only man I've ever loved in my life. I'm so sad for her that my heart just feels broken. I guess, going back to my original thought, she's very fortunate to have a large, loving family for support. That's something that so many people simply don't have.

Yes I saw the youtube link but it's not the same. Maybe it's weird but I'd like to keep it permanently. Also maybe somebody recorded it from tv in better quality than a live stream? Edited by anewdayhascome

I was thinking of these posts and I'm thinking it's more shock and grief then emptiness and roboCeline. I don't know. Just a thought.

Oh I never thought she was roboCeline. Her face looked empty like ones does when their broken and truly defeated. She looked to me as if she was in a daze and was going to pass out at any minute. Of course that's because of the grief.

I'm thrilled that Rene introduced "Trois heures vingt" to many of you for the first time. A testament that her early material is exquisite and most of it more timeless than most of her recent work.

I love that song its beyond beautiful. I think the genius that is Eddie Marnay wrote it.

It was my first time hearing it and with the French that I can understand it's truly a perfect choice. About greeting her love at 20 past 3. Just like Celine did for one final time.

Also the pure innocence in her voice, that innocence beats everything because it's genuine and pure. It truly was like a angel was singing as everyone entered the church.

I would love that song added to her shows.

An article I just read said "The back of the program featured a candid throwback shot of Dion and Angélil looking happy together"

Do we know what shot this was?

The article goes on -

'It [the program] also included a heartfelt letter from Stéphane Laporte, the director of Dion’s Las Vegas show.

“René doesn’t demand respect. He does better than that, he offers it,” he wrote. “Because the most respected man of show business is the one who respects others the most. His genius is to think of everything, to never forget anyone.”

Laporte also spoke about the incredible bond Angélil shared with Dion.

“Never did one single love matter more in the world than that of René’s for Céline,” Laporte wrote. “And Céline’s for René. The lover is no longer. But the love is always there. In her. In his kids. In everything this man loved. His love is everywhere.”'

I was disappointed that no American supporters were there from what we could tell.

I think they will probably be at the celebration of life in Vegas since its her in the states. I feel they announced the celebration of life with the announcement of the funeral because they knew some people from the states would just attend that instead.

People say she will sing at the celebration of life, I don't see that happening. I think it will be more like another wake only with Celine and Patrick probably.
