Oh I never thought she was roboCeline. Her face looked empty like ones does when their broken and truly defeated. She looked to me as if she was in a daze and was going to pass out at any minute. Of course that's because of the grief.

So, as I've watched this group unite and come together over these last few days, and it's so sad it takes something like this to do it, I've thought about having a Skype session at some point. A lot of us have voiced that we want/need to be around other fans right now, so it's a thought. I know this kindness and love will pass and soon the forum will return to its normal state of disagreement, but for the moment that we seem to be in harmony, I think we could take this moment to be there for each other in any way we can. When Celine placed Rene's ring on her finger along with her's, I wonder what that truly meant?

 

Did Rene want her to do that so that she'll always have a piece of him and there love they share together, or perhaps maybe it was Rene's way of giving Celine his blessing to find a new love one day?

 

By putting there wedding rings in Celine's hands and not taking his ring to his grave with him. Maybe that meant that the future is in Celine's hands now and if she chooses to move on with someone new, maybe that's his way of telling her that it's okay?

 

What do you guys think?

 

Both are nice gestures of putting your loved ones mind and heart at ease. I think that would be the loveliest way to let your partner know that they can go on without you if they choose and they don't have to feel guilty about it and wonder what the other one might think in heaven.

 

I don't think Celine will want any other love in her life, but you never know what can happen. Celine is still young and if this is what the giving back of the rings meant, I think that it's very sweet to love someone enough to set them free.

Awe. That is beyond sweet that not only was she wearing his ring, but his coat aswell! Thank you for telling me that detail about the coat. I already knew she was wearing his ring today, but it didn't know she was also wearing Rene's coat. So sad and so touching.

Taking his ring with her, it means she could sell it and get a new pair of shoes when she wants it. (Just kidding)

 

 

Remember in an interview when Rene was asked if he had ever thought of the idea of he won't be attending his son's graduation ceremony or wedding...etc. Celine jumped in and said, he will be there, as she will represents him. To me, having his ring with her, could be that kind of idea.

 

The fact of the ring pillow, the flower boy, and how celine put those rings on, just extremely romantic and beautiful. I always feel that celine has so much class as if she is a queen or part of the royal family (the way she bows ie. At the 1998 Oscar), this funeral further demonstrates that.

No of course we want her to be happy and not alone and of course we wish her a new love. But their love was so deep and so special. This was a love that someone experiences once in a lifetime. To be honest i wish her to find someone special with all my heart but i have a feeling she will not marry again.

Well some people want to be buried with certain possessions including wedding rings etc. Some people want a particular person like a son/daughter to have them. Some wives want the ring. Personally if I see a widow wearing their spouse's ring it means you're still here with me, we are still married. It probably gives celine comfort and strength to wear it. Know it would me. And like others have said, RC could have it in the future in he should wish.

 

There was a small piece in The Sun paper yesterday (uk peeps) of the visitation. Anyone know if anything is in any of the Sundays?

Maybe life will put her another man on his way bu I woud stake my life on it that Céline will not marry again. Their love goes beyong the border, even that of the death.

Did anyone else speak besides Rene Charles? His "speech" was so short, I'm surprised. Obviously, 15 is a young age to compose a proper speech, but it still seemed quite abrupt. I admit I haven't been able to watch the ceremony fully.

It's actually a symbolism in the Catholic church. A way of saying even though physically he is not here anymore they will remain soul mates and stay together. My understanding is one chooses this as part of the ceremony if they don't wish to re-marry. It's as if she's saying he was her one true love. The pillow was the same pillow from their wedding day 21 years ago....with the same ring bearer.

 

I think we'll see his ring pretty regularly. She wore it to Daniel's wake.
