I can't imagine her doing that... how would she ever get through it, poor thing.

 

But on the other hand, if he had asked her to do it I'm sure she would, no matter how difficult. She'd never disappoint him.

I don't know how reliable this is .... The media are waiting for new details about this story... And they do tend to speculate ....

 

Personally I feel she should! It would be the greatest tribute to Rene as his faviouate singer.... In fact I kind of expect it...

I must say I am not that sad René passed away.

Don't get me wrong, I feel real sadness. What I mean is we all know René had been very weak for a long time : he was deaf, couldn't speak and was unable to eat by himself. This is very hard to live, so his death must be seen like a kind of relief.

But what will be very hard to see for all of us will be the sorrow of Céline. We haven't heard of her yet (and that's normal), but I know it will be heartbreaking to see her at the funeral, along with the boys and the whole family and loved ones.

We all admire Céline and René as a couple, and I can't picture myself Céline as a widow. The next days will be very sad for all of us, I am sure you understand what I mean

I wouldnt be suprised if she sang at his funeral, but i cannot imagine how she will be physically able to sing emotioanlly, without completely breaking down and that is the only reason she may not do it.Like the night her dad died- she physically couldnt sing ! Oh god ill die if that happens again I actually still cannot believe he is gone !! He was so nice to fans!! I called him twice for a photo in Ceasers and without hesitation he always stood their for a photo and looked you in the eye ! I just cant imagine Celine without her Rene !! Personally I believe the sooner Celine gets back to singing, the better. No one wants to see her stop and see the stress and grief take over her, we don't want her to lose her voice like Shania Twain did during/after her divorce.

I completely agree Tim!! Her fans have always and will always be her rock, surrounded by love!

 

It has always been for the fans Celine and Rene..... The love for Celine has always been love for them both as together they were the real package!

 

Celine will go on and be just as successful! Anything Celine does now only pushes her place as a legend!

 

I do hope her career will go on and that she will still gain new hights even without Rene..... I believe she will .... She will want to prove herself as tribute to Rene!

How I wish the press would leave Celine and her family alone @ the funeral - and no pictures would be taken. I know, that it won't happen. There will be pictures. But for me, as a fan, I only wish she and René's whole family can say goodbye to the one they loved so much.

They just updated the article then. About 3pm EST the rumor was she WAS going to perform.

If its a national funeral it usually is on tv. Well over here its usually broadcast.

No I don't think Celine should perform at the funeral. She should be there as his wife. Be with the kids. I wouldn't even be able to speak, let alone sing. They can always play a recording of hers. I just want her to grieve. I know what it's like if you don't deal with it. But like everything now, it's up to celine. If it's her decision I go along with it.

It's going to be hard to watch.
