I know, I actually felt depressed today about Rene, feel like Im grieving too, and I didnt even know him. Its just their lives seemed so perfect and we always knew Celine was safe with him, he cared so much for her. She has her boys now and she has grew strong , she is a very strong person.....I hate that the love of her life is gone from her......its so depressing and so sad ....... i was so in awe of their love I wont be able to cope seeing her at the funeral......no body will.....ts just so sad,

I agree. I would be fine with 2 pictures from her team rather than filming the whole thing. To me, filming a funeral seems too much for that kind of event.

Something tells me that René wouldn't mind. I think if Celine felt like he wouldn't want this she wouldn't have okayed it. Rene has been more of a "open book" than Celine. The only thing he wanted to keep secret was their relationship at firs. Then they went public and her realized how it endured Celine even more to her fans. Ever since then they have been really open with us about their lives and let's not forget that Rene was also her manager so he signed off on a lot of things like the OWN network special documentary, and Celine though the eyes of the world. Etc. Rene liked the attention if was clearly visible to that much.

 

God forbid, but when Celine does pass away, I bet you her service won't be as public as Rene's, I actually believe the only reason Celine was the " open book" was because Rene advised her to be that way, but in general if you read between the lines she has always been trying to be more private then Rene. Just my thoughts.

Even tho it will be extremely painful to watch. I can't wait until the first person get the exclusive first interview with Celine after this. I hope she takes her time to do the interview but when the times right, I look forward to hear Celine speak.

 

I think it will either be a special with Barbara Walters or Oprah in primetime.

Yeah I agree, most likely Julie Snyder.

 

I don't know for sure, but I doubt that. The reason is because Rene's passing was a HUGE deal not just in French speaking countries but worldwide. And the worlds most spoken language is English. Remember Celine did the only interviews since her comeback from taking care of Rene with 2 English outlets, "Good Morning America" and " US TODAY". I don't think that trend will end anytime soon. I'm sure Julie Synder will get a exclusive but not until after the United States does first.

Maybe it'll depend on what she's promoting? If the french album is coming out maybe it'll be a french interview. If the album isn't ready and she's doing lv shows maybe it'll be an English interview. Or maybe it'll be both.

Whatever language, to whatever interviewer/programme I hope its not rushed. Something like an hour special would be better. Let celine talk and not have words put into her mouth!

Know I'll have tissues by me. Shall need them Friday if there's a live stream. If I'm brave enough to watch it.

I just wish I knew which 3 channels it's going to be I've gone through CBC and LCN's programming and there's been no scheduled changes in programming since Rene's passing so I really don't know who's carrying the funeral.

I for one don't like the idea of this being a televised funeral. Celine's wedding was televised in 1994, but those were happy times. I don't want to see Celine crying and overwhelmed with grief and I don't want to see her kids sad. I think this should be a private matter. Not everything needs to be open to the public.

 

I know we all love Rene and feel like we knew him, but Celine's dads wedding wasn't televised and I felt like I knew him aswell. I just hate the idea of the media plastering pictures of the funeral all over magazines and pictures of Celine crying.

I can't begin to imagine what she and the entire family are going through this week, but let's not also forget how incredibly strong she is and on the day she will be at her strongest for their boys!

 

I hugely admire her strength, faith, and positivity no matter what life has in store... It's remarkable and inspiring.

I'm guessing they'll do with Celine and the kids what they did with Diana's boys. The networks agreed to not show her children at all during the ceremony so atleast that bit was kept private. Though reporters who were in the chapel said it was heartbreaking.

 

Side note but speaking of being televised... I cannot for the life of me believe that no one on this board has their whole wedding on tape somewhere. I'm still dying to watching it!
