I don't know how I feel about her coming back next month. For one I would love if she came back, but then a lot of the songs could make her an emotional wreck. So, I think if she wants to come back she can, but if she needs to take a break for a few months... I don't blame her either. I'm just kinda torn.

In a few months she will no doubt sit down for her first interview following his death. I wouldn't be surprised if they get Oprah in to do it.

Sorry to go off topic, but three weeks! That's a long time! Is that common in the UK? Here it's stated by law that the burial or cremation may not take place in the first 36 hrs after death, but must take place at latest on the 6th workday after death.

 

It can be quite commonplace here. I don't think there's any law at all here. It can be even longer if there's an autopsy. A lot of it depends on paperwork here. My parents both died in hospital on the monday. You need to book an appointment with a certain dept in the hospital. Soonest apt was the Fri! They give you paperwork for the registrar so you can then register the death. And also paperwork for the funeral directors. It's really not easy sometimes. You can sometimes do it sooner, just depends on the circumstances and who you make your arrangements with etc.

I just feel so bad for them all because I know all the decisions you have to make or fulfil, at a time when everything is so raw.

Not by my standards. Only 8 days between Rene passing and his funeral. I had to wait 3 weeks for my parents funerals.

 

Yeah, my mother's funeral happened almost a month after she passed as the coroner had to do a full autopsy (and it's gone forward now to an investigation and I still don't have a death certificate but anyway nobody cares for my personal life lol).

 

I have been amazed by the worldwide outpouring of sympathy for Celine. She has to be the most liked celeb on the planet.

That's it, when my uncle died, it was New Year so we waited over a month for a funeral, so much time had passed we had to plead with the coroner to at least allow my Nan a viewing before the cremation. It can really vary here, depending on cause of death, time of the year, and whether they died at home or not.

The sooner the better I feel though, as otherwise you begin to come to terms with it, and bam, the funeral comes and it starts all over again.

According to this they say Cèline will perform a concert to honor René in he "Celebration of Life" event scheduled for Feburury 3rd? I didn't think it was going to be a concert. They said iHeart radio confirmed this? Anyone think this is true? If so, I have no idea how Cèline will get through this so soon. I would love to be there, I'm going to start looking at flights tonight.

This has hurt so much, to the point that I couldn't even get on the site once I heard of Rene's passing, it hits so close to me. My partner is 17 years my my senior, I'm blessed with four step children I love to death. Celine and Rene's love always proved to me that age is nothing when it comes to the love of your life, it just struck me that one day this will happen to myself. All the comments that have been said about Rene on some of the gossip sights are so horrible, he groomed her for him, he's a pedophile he's in hell etc. I've had those same comments thrown at me, he robbed the cradle didn't he, or you have a sugar daddy or I have daddy issues etc, I always took Celine's action at those comments, this is who I love, I didn't get to chose when he would come into my life he just did when he did and I'm thankful for him now.

As a LPN in long term care it sounds to me Rene got hit by a virus or a cold or could have been an aneurysm or heart attack due to his age, having no autopsy done we will never know and I'm glad they aren't he's gone just let him rest but I don't think it was the cancer that truly killed him so to say, sounds like he went peacefully in his sleep hopefully with Celine there by his side. Had he been dying from cancer Celine would not have been on the stage, she's been a true role model through all of this, she has went on stage and done an amazing show, and then came home to not only be a mother but then a nurse to her husband. Being a nurse I was shocked she was doing his feedings, some family members just can not do it and it shows to me just how committed Celine was to Rene and I applaud her for it. I ache for RC and the twins loosing a parent is never ever easy.

I honestly think Celine will be on that stage again whether or not the show goes till 2019 I don't know but it's going to be different now. Change is sometimes hard to accept so if she retires or if she still continues I support her I just hope we call all support her also. All I know is if I listen to Immortality I can't make it through the opening without tears. :cry:

I'm still speechless, but I feel like I need to say something. I want to write to Celine, but I am going to respect her request for privacy right now. My husband is 31 years older than me and was a smoker most of his life. His COPD is taking a tole and his doctor has ordered a CAT scan to see if he has lung cancer This really hits me hard as I have been a Celine fan for 24 years.I was in Vegas Jan 10-14, and saw Celine on the 10th and 12th. I met her outside, after the show on the 12th, and gave her a bday card for Rene. We are expecting our second baby in August, and we are naming her Celine if it's a girl. I told her this and she said she was touched. I have beautiful photos with her, and it's a dream come true, but I feel guilty that she took the time with her fans the last two days of her husband's life. I wish i could attend the funeral for the public, but it's a 10 hour drive and I can't afford to fly. I also wish I could be on Vegas on Feb 3 and for her first show back, whenever that is. It feels like I lost a family member RIP Rene. I hope Celine and your children have the strength to get through this.

It does feel like I lost a family member too. Well my take on her singing again is this. If it will help her work through the pain, as singing can be theraputic and stress relieving, great, let her sing all she wants. If it will be one more oblivation and she won't get any joy from it, she shouldn't do it.

No this was reported on Thursday, they wouldn't have had time to do an autopsy. They knew it was from natural causes, they don't need an autopsy to say what particular cancer it was, they have all his medical history.

Well, when they announced that Celebration of Life will be in The Colosseum I instantly thought that it'll be some kind of a concert. In my opinion, it will not be a Celine Dion concert though. I mean she may or may not sing (probably she will, maybe even Encore un soir) but it could be all people he was connected with, like Josh Groban, Garou, Ginette, Veronic, Marc Dupre etc.
