"Celine" The Revamped Show

I get the sense that she wants to be doing this show . .not "wants" maybe in the way that you want to go to Disneyland or the beach or something purely fun -- but I think she wants to do this for Rene; I think it gives them both something to work on and be absorbed in that's not about his illness -- something that's about strength and moving forward and is kind of a culmination of the work they've done together for 30+ years; I think she mentioned that the music can be a sort of therapy - she can deal with her emotions through it; and I believe her when she says she's doing it in part to show her children about being strong and not falling apart when something bad happens. RC in particular is old enough to understand what it means for her to be doing this show, and that kind of example is something that stays with you. And sometimes -- I see this especially in Mr. Paganini and the Prince medley -- she just seems to be having a really good time onstage -- and I think that's good for everyone. Mostly, I think the message of this show is an uplifting one, about strength and love.

 

Any choice she made during this time would be hard, but I think it's what she's always said -- She and Rene together make the choices that are best for their family.

 

The TF1 interview was very short, but I also found it very touching. At 2:18, she quotes Rene: "You're my favorite singer. I want you strong, I want you happy, I want you well. Go back. I'm okay." I do think they're doing this because they think it's the best thing now.

It also looks like they're doing a better job of crowd control during Immortality. Thank god! I feel like the mob of fans running to take selfies with Céline cheapens the show. Not to mention it's a huge security risk.

I hope so but the crowd didn't usually mob her until she got down to the bottom of the stairs. It was crazy! Lol, when I was there you can hear me say 'Stop!' I'm so protective!

Some people have asked about bootleg versions with split tracks. I have just completed the splitting for the opening night bootleg. I had to make some cuts of interlude and speeches and didn't worry about them.... I was trying to get it to fit 80 minutes for the live cd i burned to have in my car (sounds great btw lol, nice having some different celine songs in my car for a change).... but nothing celine related was cut...

"Unison" and "All The Way" cut??

 

Oh no!!!!! That sucks. No Unison? They cut the only "Celine" interlude? and move back LCMM and RDMH to "ITS" place bleeeee :wtf: :wtf: Now we have only TSMGO before MHWGO... (which is better than Prince medley though but it's only one song, so the endign is again more or less the same ) Why the hell didn't they keep Unison medley, then LCMM/RDMH, and covers.... It would be MUCH better

I don't get why she can't perform ABM in a short dress, she did it on Sans attendre tour in a the golden one and it was ok. I'm furious about Unison. If there is anyone in Vegas right now and happens to meet Aldo, let him know that we'd rather Unison medley than up sth (don't remember that stupid name) medley. PLEASE!

I think it's just a rumor (?) that "Unison" was cut... has anyone confirmed? Also, has anyone confirmed that the Prince medley was moved and that the show now ends with TSMGO before MHWGO...

Tim, it looks like your bootleg might? be missing a track, the folder I have goes from track fifteen to seventeen.

Am I missing a file, or did you make a typo when numbering them? Just thought i'd pass that along to be helpful.

So the show was updated, and there were cuts (still a great show though):

 

All the Way is gone

Unison is gone

 

She does one less costume change now. The green dress is back, but the white one is gone. But, when a show run just starts there are typically only one of each dress so there are nights that the costumes require work and there isn't a double yet. So, the costume changes might go back in time.

 

Anyway, those are the only changes I noticed.

 

On and they got better with her walking down the aisle now. The aisle is now cleared and kept clear. Someone tried reaching out to shake her hand but was stopped. If she doesn't reach out to shake someone's hand, then the person is kept back. Hopefully they keep it this way because it was ridiculous, awkward, and needed to be cut if they didn't do something. It seems like they are trying now at least, and at least it worked last night.

Good, because it was crazy! I know people were excited but it was like she was the second coming of Christ.

She didn't need to bring anything home to Rene. Plus I remember in an interview her saying something about a phobia of that sort, saying 'they all want to touch me.' I can't imagine what mobbing her made her feel like.

Yeah I find that entire Immortality bit very awkward. I wish people would show some class and restraint, just appreciate her closeness and refrain from the never-ending selfies. I applaud her for sticking with it despite the mobbing action!

I always liked the idea of her walking through the audience, but Immortality just seems like a very strange song to do it with. Something more upbeat would work better, I think. Perhaps even a French song. I know they're reluctant to have more than one in the show, apparently scared the Anglo audience would get bored, I suppose, but if she's walking through the audience while singing it that should be excitement enough! Maybe On me change pas or Destin or Les Derniers seront les premiers or something like that.

In general I'm just surprised Immortality is part of this show. Seems like an odd song choice at the moment.

I don't find it weird, it was so nice for her to interact with the audience and to take pictures. They should control more than on the opening night but still allow it. It was finally something great that they did as far as the audience is concerned.

I may get some flack for this , but these people are paying top dollar they deserve a selfie with Celine or to touch her hand, in my opinion. Yes I agree they should stay calm and act like humans for gods sake have their moments and then leave her alone lol but I think it's refreshing to see Celine do this , something Mariah or another star of Celine's caliber would be be reluctant or scared to do.

 

Also I like the silver " prince" dress better than the green one, sad it's gone.

If you are hoping for a DVD i can tell you that the filming is not professional enough to release it. BUT I believe that a live CD of the opening could be released.

Maybe not but I always keep in mind that fan demand makes a difference, I remember with Michael Jackson the Bad tour was never professionally filmed for dvd release but did they did have the pro footage from the screens. Due to overwhelming demand they ended up releasing the Wembley show onto dvd thanks to the fans pushing for it. How about the first run of "Celine" when Oprah's crew filmed it was that professional enough do you think??

I was just looking on instagram and found this pic of Celine's wax figure inside Caesars Palace.

 

Is it just me or has Celine's wax figure been changed? The makeup looks different. The cheeks don't look orange anymore. It could be the lighting, but the makeup looks completely different to me. The hair is different for sure. The hair is shorter and styled a little more simple then when I saw it in June 2012.

 

I don't know if I'm going completely crazy, but does the body look a tad different aswell, around the hip and waist area? I also noticed that the head seems to not be tilted upwards like it was before?

Oh God please let this be true! I could easily wait for a dvd then lol. But only on 2 conditions:

1) the whole show is on the CD, no cuts or reordering etc

2) they include bonus footage of opening night/week/previous run on the dvd when it does get filmed and released.

 

I hate it when songs get cut from a live cd. It doesn't flow as well, and everyone has their own favourite tracks etc. It was the main reason I didn't particularly like about ANDLILV cd. But I have high hopes since TCWT & USF cd releases! 😆
