Listening to one of the bootlegs from opening night, here are my thoughts.

I'm not sure what I think of the intro. I thought they'd have audio from the fan videos too, but it's just Celine singing over what I'd guess are pictures. Also lol, did anyone else notice they were a split second too long on the edit, when they changed parts in the first verse?

I'm not sure what I think of IS as the show opener, I like OA better.

I really like the new arrangements for the classics, they add that little something extra.

The whole section with the instrumental and both jazz songs can, IMO, be cut. Maybe replace the french song with ONCP, as I think someone suggested.

Barnev's song, I honestly fast-forwarded through it, it didn't do much for me.

BATB was nice, I like how Celine played with it a little.

TFTEISYF was a nice adition. I'm not really a fan of the song myself, but it did, as Celine said, give her a chance to show off her family. Was the crowd cheering every time Rene appeared? I'd guess so.

Wow, not much of a crowd reaction to Immortality, which is kind of surprising.

ATW was nice to see, I hope it hasn't been cut.

IICD, I honestly can take or leave.

The acoustic medly, so awesome, especially her interactions with the crowd and the guitarist. I hope these three stick around, and can be made longer. Also, of course, I loved her call-out to Rene during IA.

Incredible, it's my favorite song off of LMBTL, but I'm sorry, Barnev is no Ne-yo. Also, I see what everyone's saying now, the drums and backup singers are a tiny bit much. Also, Barnev kind of overpowers Celine, something, even live, Ne-yo didn't do. I would love to see it stay in the show, I just wish she could find someone else to sing with. Like maybe they could do a hologram of Ne-yo, then include incredible in the duets section.

Unison, as everyone's saying, it's nice to see it included, I just wish Celine could sing at least some of it.

LCMM/RDMH I'm kind of with most people here, these should maybe be removed.

ABM, I love how she plays around with her vocals here. Also, I am so glad she went back to the older way of singing the ending note, I like it better.

TSMGO again, I'm not really a fan of this, but maybe it'll grow on me. Either way, I could take or leave it as part of the show. Although, that ending note is certainly something else.

The other interlude, I have the same thoughts as before, maybe do instrumentals of Celine's songs instead.

Kiss, I don't know any of Prince's music, so I can't really say what I think of the song itself. As for Celine, she seems to be having fun with it.

Purple Rain, my thoughts are the same as for Kiss. Except, I do agree with those who are saying they don't really care for the guitar solo improv Celine does. If it was in a lower key I think it'd be better, and easier on her voice.

MHWGO, OMG this was the best performance of this song I've heard in years.

SOTR, kind of an interesting way to end the show, IMO. TCOML may have been better, to show Celine and rene through the years, but, as others have said, it'd be hard for Celine to sing it, so I'm not sure what else they can use.

 

I think I got everything, sorry this got so long and some of the songs are out of order. I was just writing things down as I remembered them.

Wow, this got super long, points to anyone who actually reads the whole thing.

PS, is it just me, or does the piano they're using sound different? Also, who plays for her now, is it Scott?

I saw the edited bootleg,

 

LOOVED I SURRENDER opening

the jazz section was fantastic, (with practice, dion really shines)

I really want that jazz section expanded! She should ad Quand On Saime, Nina Simone's feeling good (could also be a new opener or closer!)

 

the two duets were great too! i would like a another holographic duet... like whitney with I got Nothing

 

Incredible I agree with previous posts (barnev isn't neyo)

Loved the Prince selection

Loved MHWGO and SOTR (I think SOTR could be replaced with an accoustic version of thankful??)

I think "I Surrender" COULD work amazingly well as an opener, but only if it wasn't placed directly after such an energetic opening such as "I Drove All Night." IF the "I Drove All Night" fan video is going to remain, the first song performed needs to have an opening with an arrangement that is bombastic and climactic. A few possibilities include:

  • "Then You Look At Me"
  • "Your Light" (will never happen, but it COULD work)
  • "Unison"
  • "You And I"
  • "It's All Coming Back To Me Now"

Ok so next show is September 5th which is tomorrow so I'm putting it out there now to anyone going tomorrow or to future shows. If you bump into Aldo or Celine or any of her people(I know some here already have) please ask about a potential future dvd filming/release

 

 

Btw any news from tonight's show??

I have no idea, but perhaps is was done for technical reasons? That way, her team would know when the official end to the videos were that were submitted? Though, that would be odd considering the song would obviously end. Maybe there was something bigger planned, but was cancelled at the last minute?

I think the opening number should be If You Asked Me To!..... "Let anybody in... but..... <curtains come down> If you asked me to."

 

I am actually shocked she still doesn't perform IYAMT in any tours or vegas shows. It was one of her first big hits. US chart at #4.

Oh wow, that would be so neat. plus, it's an easier song to sing, so she'd have time to warm up her voice before singing IS.

I noticed from previous shows ,that is uncomfortable for her by the way she trys to push her shoulders up befor the high note in all by myself so maybe that's the reason

I wonder whether we will get a HQ clip of the performance of one song soon. Might be a good way to promote the show.

 

What do you think? Which song should they take? I guess the biggest impact would have My Heart Will Go On.

I love the green dress and I think it suits the LCMM/RDMH etc section. I just think ABM didn't fit the dress or position in the show.

Hope the green dress comes back - it's actually one of my favourites from her Lv shows.

the green is not bad although I really liked the gold one before the changes,but I'm keeping an eye on the yellow one that's the one that definitely needs to be not only changed but tear apart lol

That green dress looks like an '80s Christmas tree so not at all sad to see it go (though she does have amazingly never-ending legs so it would be a shame if all we got was long gowns!) Just keep the yellow one. All the others...meh. I miss the light blue one and the one-shoulder white one from the last iteration of the show. Beautiful and classy.

Hope All he Way was not permanently cut; I'll take Frank over Elvis or Bee Gees any day.

I think it's so sad that some people are focused on if Celine is singing Live or not. It's really sad. Celine is back, she is putting on an amazing show and this is what we are focusing on? Seriously. :rolleyes1:

 

It doesn't sound lipped, it doesn't look lipped. Why are people focusing on this. Just enjoy the show. I feel sad for all the people who are focusing so much time on whether Celine is singing Live or not, instead of enjoying the show and focusing all there energy on that.

Agree with you 1000x. So much critique about her body being this way, and her head that way. Who cares, enjoy the show. Must be terrible to go to a show and just look for all the actions of how she is holding her body, looking for all the so called "faults". I couldn't care less if she makes 100,s of mistakes, it's our Celine, chill and enjoy it. Live or lipped, so what!! Sorry, just had to get that out. Am not cross with anyone, and as someone mentioned earlier, please open up a new topic for those who want criticize everything, so that this topic is not spoilt with extreme fault finding. We all I think would like to keep this a happy topic. Don't mean to step on anyone's toes, sorry

She was quite off at the end of Paganini.

Must admit I prefer her sound this time round on TFTEISYF than back in the 90's when she sang it.

apart from the off part at the end ,it was kind of slower, and I don't like when she exzagerat when she sings low notes Edited by artistman2007
