Yes exactly! As "Shamrock" said (I think it was him) Rainbow is gorgeous but a bit depressing for a closer.

still? really? that means that the doors are open :) awesome! I wish we would get some more uptempo and "happy" songs. The acoustic medley shows that this setlist needs them. If only the medley wasn't so short :whistling: but I wouldn't mind if other uptempo songs are added ^_^

Scott wants to change the show every run (they're still even tweaking it now, as they only had so little time to rehearse and Céline was on fire the whole time..so some stuff were last minute additions). So anything'ss really possible atm ;)

Well I'd keep OTR at the end. For the time being at least. It's like WAWW during AND. I was so disappointed when it was dropped. Also it's like she's come full circle. Singing it when she couldn't speak English but belting it out. Now she sings it beautifully.

So they want more uptempo songs? Ok so what have we got then?? Been trying to think of songs that aren't massively obscure (to the general public who may not have all her albums) that could be used and Celine english songs,that also wouldn't sound dated. It's really hard!

Take TTWII and maybe IA out of acoustic medley.

Then I'd perhaps take LCMM out and use it as an interval then have Simply The Best/RDMH medley instead.

Also instead of Incredible maybe have SLS.

And please skip Mr. Pagadini and the French song. Nobody really cares about that, and it's about 5 minutes that are wasted (it gets more time in the show than the ANDHC/TTWII/IM medley)

They seriously need to consider adding Then You Look At Me, Somebody Loves Somebody, Unison sung by Celine, Thankful, Save Your Soul and yes even I Drove ALL Night with a new rock arrangement

Yeah I agree extend the medley and they could add misled for her to end on " your seriously misled " :P

 

Refuse to dance would be good if they added 4/5 dancers who then came back for last part of the show.

Except OTR is one of the best songs ever, and WAWW one of the worst. And SLS I can't stand, it's just and OK song.

SFL 2002 has a big fake note in the middle, I wouldn't count on it. The jazz thingy with those two songs I actually enjoy... and Unfinished songs is also just an OK song IMO.

 

Sorry guys, it´s just easier to point out the things I disagree with, and I'm lazy. :flowers:

 

Only song that comes to mind that I actually like, that is uptempo, and that is not in the show already, is Treat Her Like a Lady.

I absolutely disagree about her not having that voice anyore...today her voice is better than it ever has been...I just saw the show live and can 100 percent say that with honesty...her voice is in top, stellar shape...shes adding so much more to the songs than she has before...crystal clear and strong and full of emotion...her voice is definitely still there

She's fantastic, that's why I'm here. She has evolved,grown... she's better. But the voice is not the same. For better or worse, that's for every one of us to judge, but different. I feel people asking for then you look at me are expecting the original recording experience, and that just won't happen.

I don't think not singing it live has anything to do with her not performing it. Her voice is very much the same with mild tone differences, especially compared to the '99 era. All of these covers have never been done either but look how they turned out. Of course it'll be far from the studio track, but it'll be performed at the least.

Give or take a few of course. I would never think TYLAM would sound the same live as on the recording...most likely the vocals would be better! I dont think I have ever heard a live celine performance that sounded exactly like the studio version...celine said people should listen to the albums if they want perfection, but I would much rather take a good live performance such as the ones the last few days over any studio version lol. If she can sing purple rain and I Surrender and All By Myself the way she has been lately I am more than positive she could sing TYLAM even better than the studio version. Just my opinion...could be all by myself with this one haha

No I completely agree. All of her Think Twice performances,BYLM, IACBTMN, RDMH, and many more sound far better live. Her studio recordings sometimes lack emotion and sometimes power, many of the ones I named contain both throughout. I love live performances, so you're not All by yourself or "Alone" lol.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, it is worth it and yes, it did give me chills. I loved it but it might harder for her to do night after night.

It certainly is the one thing I most care about, and I know for a fact I'm not alone on that front, so that's a pretty blanket statement you make there.

 

Ultimately, you can't please everyone, and while there are some songs on the current setlist I personally find irritating, I can at least try to appreciate the fact that someone out there wants to hear them.

 

In an ideal world, what I think they should do is vary the setlist from night to night - move a few tunes in and out, here and there. That's what all my favourite artists tend to do in their live performances, and I appreciate that it keeps things fresh and interesting for both the audience and the performers. That's why I keep going back to see them.

Celine's a pro and so is everyone on that stage - I'm sure they have an arsenal of possible songs at their disposal and could easily be in position expand the repertoire. Ultimately this is not a scripted show in the theatrical sense but an elaborate concert, and a little improv never hurt anyone!

Please speak for yourself. I do care for those two songs I think they are fantastic ! It shows Celine's diversity. Definitely one of the highlights of the show.

You guys -- this is a show for Rene. It's what she's said all along. It's not really a show for the fans -- though it did end up being an AMAZING show for the fans. (Seriously, how many people here wanted I Surrender, Immortality, ANDHC, TTWII, I'm Alive, not to mention the best-ever live versions of classics like BYLM and MHWGO?). But it's just not the same as analyzing a setlist for an ordinary show.

 

As a celebration of her and Rene, at this point in their lives, I think the setlist is just about perfect. (maybe I would remove ABM, actually, even though I think it's a great showstopper sort of song to sing live, because its message it doesn't quite fit to me with the theme of the rest of the show).

 

To me, the epitome of this show is when she sings, "You set my heart on fire, filled me with love/Made me a woman, on clouds above" and then shouts, "I LOVE YOU RENE." That's it. That what the show's about. And it's perfect.

Perfectly sums up my feelings too!

 

"Made me a woman, on clouds above... I LOVE YOU RENE!!!" We all know Rene is the reason she is where she is today. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

OMG GUESS WHAT Y'ALL!!!!! :w00t: I heard PURPLE RAIN on the radio. :w00t: Despite the fact that all I know "..too much sorrow... I only want to see you darling in the purple rain, purple rain (repeat about 5mil times), I love it! Dad said "oh purple rain" when it came on I said "Prince!!" So odd question but I'm just on instagram right now checking out pics and just wondering I thought Celine doesn't do meet and greets for this show so how do all these people get to meet her backstage? Can anyone enlighten me???
