"Celine" The Revamped Show

Celine should probably consider removing ABM from the setlist permanently. I mean it's very obvious from her rather uninspired and lazy performances of the song that she no longer enjoys singing it. So why bother, right? The show can stand without it anyway.

To say that her new performances of ABM are lazy and are uninspired performances is simply not true. I always say everyone is entitled to their own opinion and while I still feel this is true..I was there in person on opening night and that performance of ABM was one of the best if not the best I have heard in many many years. You can hear her emotion and rawness in the lyrics as she sings them. She changes the way some lyrics are sung...in a way she never has before. Adding even more emotion than on any other version I have heard her do before. Its different now and it sounds different...she has new meaning in her own life with how she is singing currently and that includes ABM. Celine is singing better now than I have ever heard her before and that includes when I first started listening to her.

After hearing it I think the only song that really didn't work (imo) was Incredible. So that would be the first change I'd make lol

Yeah incredible sticks out like a sore thumb and I think it's down to barnev.

 

Also hope the remove barnevs solo and have all three singers do something amazing like they did at Canada in 2013 during a costume change!

 

I totally forgot about think twice, but without sounding funny it was really only appreciated in the UK/Ireland so may not be a hit in the show, but all by myself could be removed also.

I still want TT to be part of the show though! Lol maybe just part of it during an interlude. I'd be happy with that!

No unfortunately she didn't, we got TP instead... When we were waiting in Arras, the backup singers did a part of TT to warm up. That's all the TT I got

 

But here in Holland TT would be much more known than TPOL.

I know my name on the forum isn't ANDHC... But ANDHC is still my favorite song, in English, of hers! I think the interludes are okay ... I appreciate that Scott tried to make it modern... But they don't match the elegance of the show! I love all of your ideas though

As for the interludes, they are just boring and don't go with Celine's catalogue. I mean, I don't want to have ANDHC as every interlude hehe but look at Une seule fois/Bercy concerts, how creative they were to create so unexpected and extraordinary interludes as Je crois toi or Je sais pas ? She still sings those songs (the latter even in full) and yet they are then developed until she comes back. This just proves that they CAN do something really good if they want to. Even during A new day... we had IDAN, AA, LCMM as interludes and it worked so well. "Celine" premiered with those interludes that have nothing to do with Celine and this second version of the show only repeats the scheme. That's just a shame.

 

bring Think Twice in the show instead of incredible. And if incredible stays, - the cdsound must be in it, not these dull drums and too loud backgroundsingers. It just does not have that impact the song has on the studio recording

With Incredible they're missing something as I said earlier. Just as you pointed out background singers sing too much and somehow the song isn't as uptempo as it was recorded, the rhythm is slower...

I agree with you. Yes, it's sung very well technically and it's the highlight of the night as some of you say but it's because people expect it to be the highlight and because it's a difficult song. But to me it's just without a soul. I don't know, if they wanted to keep it, they could have changed the arrangements or integrate it in some medley? Now it's just as boring as RDMH.

Let us know if he responds Next time you should also write that we would love to hear MORE of her original catalogue. Not only TPOL or BYLM but also other songs from the 90s as well as songs from 00s in FULL hehe:P

Or put TPOL into the acoustic section. Sing the Lost Is How I'm Feeling bit first chorus then into TTWII etc. Quite like the idea of the medley being a bit like Starmania, slower song,uptempo song,slower song,uptempo song - but,whereas Starmania had the band,keep it acoustic. So it would be TPOL,TTWII,ANDHC,IA. It would also get rid of the dreaded TPOL/IACBTMN medley. 😁
