Just pure logic? :)

The only part we saw them record, was the outside filming. Think we should have known if they recorded more.

Celine herself - or her team - posted on Instagram that they filmed a music video to be released in August. Lately they edited that description on Instagram.

Bonjour tout le monde

J'ai une DEMANDE:

Qui aurait un lien pour télécharger les premiers albums français en bonne qualité de Céline (de 1981 à 1985)?

Merci d'avance

Sony released its Q2 financial results today. Their best-selling album of the quarter? Encore un soir.

https://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/library/fr/16q2_supplement.pdf

(See pg. 12. Sia, Babs & Beyonce 6th, 7th and 8th, respectively).

That's why they won't bother even more in promoting the album. LOL

To me , It is clear that Celine does not want to shot videos anymore (at least good ones). And I can understand her, she has worked a lot.

Bur I do not understand why they don't put some money making creative things in which she won't appear, as Sia uses to do... So they can still promote songs.

I need someone to loves m like Celine loved René... And just like she sang in LTAL track # 16, I ask for that exact same thing

There is no music video, it was just made for commercials

I don't believe this as the video was clearly telling a story which wasn't fully shown in the commercials...

The lyrics in Tu sauras are messed up in the booklet, as you probably know. I wonder if they will correct this (or maybe they have already done it) and release another pressing of the album with the correct lyrics, as they did with Sans attendre shortly after it was released? :hmm:

Ps. I listened today the album in full again, with hands on the booklet and lyrics, and I can confirm this album surpassed my expectations, I like it much much more than Sans attendre.

Not that Sans attendre didn't have some GREAT songs here and there, but it had some fillers too. However EUS has great songs from track 1 to 12! There are no filler song in the standard edition  And for once, they do it right with the bonus tracks: those 2 songs are the fillers and they are where they have to be haha.

My second favorite singer, Mónica Naranjo, will also re-release her latest album (called 'Lubna') on November 25th and gosh... Let's see the differences between the contents of Mónica's and Céline's re-releases:

'Lubna' re-release: A CD with the original album + 3 remixes / A second CD with orchestral versions of all the songs on the album / A DVD with a documentary about the making-of the album + The 2 music videos from it / A novel in which each chapter relates to each song on the record. The album will be released on a double-LP that same day with both, the original and the orchestral version.

'Encore Un Soir' re-release: A previously available CD + A calendar that will be useless after 2017.

I know that we can't compare two artists but come on, Céline's people have waaaay much more money than Mónica's. Céline works with Sony Music (who should prepare a decent re-release instead of this) while Mónica does not even work with a record company.

I think the whole re-release of 'Encore Un Soir' is just a way of Sony Music to laugh at us, honestly. :pinch:

I don't want to start a different topic here, but just for you guys to get to see the difference between 'Encore Un Soir' and 'Lubna' in therms of music style, here's the music video for the lead single of Mónica's album.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfFbQdv2clc

'Encore Un Soir' has a totally more commercial sound, so Sony (or any record company) should easily see its potential and we obviously can't expect a novel with a chapter about each of the songs on the record, but you know, it's easy to top a calendar.

Just my thoughts...

Totally agree with you about EUS, still enjoiyng. And I actually like A Vous also, especially in the car :innocent: , but to put it in the deluxe version was the right decision, that's true. I just wish Celine and her team would have more interest and time for this album as I consider it as one of the most important records in her career. But then we have a calendar with a re-release and it's all clear :pinch:

OMG I would LOVE to have an orchestral/acoustic version of the album.

And you are right, they don't need to. But if an somehow unknown artist can release an magical rerelease, why not the best selling artist of all time?

They could easily do this when she records the english album.

Original, and acoustic/orchestral version she can easily record on the same day

Call it a gift, a filler, whatever, it's clearly a bonus track lol... It's IS indeed a "thank you" song for the fans, like Je ne vous oublie pas Part II. But it doesn't have any place among the rest of the songs in the album :P

I played the CD last week on my car and a class math who was there said Tu Sauras was clearly a filler because the chorus is so repetitive. Poor him... :giggle:

Ok ..... This album never gets old!! Every time I listen I'm so excited by this album! It is for sure my faviouate French album!! It had a little bit of everything I love from Celine!

I just wish they had put more effort into the promo and creation of the album!

It has sold amazingly well and that is because of the album itself! So impressed by this album!

To those who claim that physical and commercial CD singles are no longer made these days, here's Charlie Puth's single "One Call Away", released by Warner Music in April 2016, and the target public of this young artist is not precisely known for buying music in physical format or who is in its late 50's and doesn't touch a computer to download digital albums on iTunes :)

I'm not certain as to which countries saw this, but surely Germany is one of them. He also got Marvin Gaye on CD single too before.

Why oh why can't Celine...? :hmm: There are so many obscure things behing her management as for why they stopped releasing commercial singles with her music, and the example of this singer, whose main public is loaded of teens and young listeners, is a complete contradiction with the theory that young consumers download everything in digital or never buy music in physical format. Why then they should release singles from Charlie Puth in physical format? :innocent:

In other words, if an artist like Charlie Puth who is in his 20's can have CD singles released, but his target audience barely buys music in physical format, why an artist like Céline Dion, whose target objective public is in its mid 50's and up and are still regular consumers of music in physical format (and normally they don't like or don't even know how to download digital albums), can't have CD singles released anymore? That's the obscure question...

There's nothing obscure, CD singles are released only in Germany nowadays. So, surely Charlie Puth has a physical CD single release in Germany.

CD singles are not released anymore in France, that's why you can't find physical CDs for Céline's French singles.

That's easy.

I was referring to her English singles, of course :) Since Taking Chances, she stopped having her second single taken from each album with a commercial release throughout Europe. Alone was only a promotional single with no commercial release, and Eyes On Me was just released in the UK. With LMBTL, Incredible wasn't even released anywhere...

Edit: I should have posted this in the English album thread sorry.

About the vinyl. Has anyone else noticed how fragile the disc envelopes are? They'll be torn in no time at all. It was the only thing I didn't like about the vinyl edition. However, I came up with a solution. I put the discs in two white paper envelopes and I'm keeping them separated from the envelopes, which I now treat like a leaflet. Whenever I want to read those awfully wrong lyrics I just grab the envelope, otherwise they remain safe and untouched while I listen to the record.

By now, Celine probably has more discarded projects than released ones.

The last physical CD I ever purchased was 3 years ago, Sans Attendre! Honestly, I don't know anyone that buys a compact disc anymore, it's redundant unless you're a collector or obsessed with an artist and want to support them.
