But she also said it could be sooner. I think they've only just started vocal recording on a few songs so there's still a way to go. Depends if they've decided on any more songs since a few months back when it was 4 songs I think. And then it obviously depends on how many songs on the album and when Celine is booked in to record them and so on. Really can't see it being that early next year, I'm thinking the summer or yes, autumn.

Yeah and idk if she'd release it in winter... kind of an odd time. Realistically, I see Mid-late summer/autumn. As much as it breaks me to come to this conclusion, it sounds like there's still much work to do, and rightfully so. She planned 2 tour setlists, instead of recording this spring.

Considering how music industry has changed, a track recorded last December (i.e. the Linda Perry or Eg White tracks) could sound very outdated next year (after almost TWO YEARS!). The same goes for the song recorded this month in Montreal...

But fashion Paris shows will come right on point, you know! And if she feels like touring again without anything new to perform, she will do it, of course

 

I still can't believe she has only released two English albums since 2004, that's two English albums in 15 years, and never an EP in between

 

In 2004 while releasing the live Vegas album she also released a new English single (You And I) for all the fans everywhere to enjoy. This same move would be so very much needed now and in many other times in the past (2011, 2015, 2017...). Where did those times go?

So, it's clear to us all by now, isn't it, that Celine Dion is pretty much over making new music in English. She only does so when she HAS to do it because they can only do so many "Greatest Hits" tours. I'm not upset over this; it's just business.

 

People have talked on here a lot about how music doesn't sell (why buy music when you can listen to it for FREE on Spotify?) and about how DVD's don't sell. Celine's team only does things that are profitable. The way she will continue to make the amount of money to which she, and the rest of her family/team, has become accustomed, is to focus on Vegas and on selling products with the Celine Dion name on it. Releasing an EP isn't going to make them a ton of money. Heck, releasing a new album/CD/Vinyl, whatever you want to call it, won't make them much money.

 

I predict that, for the rest of her life, releasing an english album every 5-6 years is what her fans should expect. I mean, she's just done 2 basically sold out tours with no new music to promote. She doesn't have to release new music in order to make money. So why do it? Singing changed for her when RC was born. I was a fan of hers for a decade before that, and have been a fan for a decade and a half after it. There was a marked difference in her performing, and in the release of new music. Other than OH (which was a collection of rejected ANDHC songs that was only released because Chrysler was a major sponsor of Vegas and they needed an album to release so they could have IDAN as a single. {remember, this is back before we had iTunes to release one off singles like today!}), Celine has waited at least 5 years between albums every since she started having kids.

Yeah I agree. She clearly is still into it, because just look how excited she was when she announced Sia wrote her new material. Just because she doesn't release something new every 2 seconds doesn't mean she's no less relevant then she used to be, and still is. It's probably partly Sony's doing now, which is why we have to wait so long.

I never said she wasn't relevant. Just that, going forward, we need to all expect releases every 5-6 years. The days of albums every year, or even every 2 years, are long gone for Celine.

People are not going to be satisfied by anything she does.

 

OK, I can get over people's weird wishes about music tastes but when they get mixed up with wrong facts and bad faith, I can't. lol

Now her team seems to be focused on what's more profitable.... wasn't it the case in the 90's, focusing on cd releases when they sold millions ? You really think she recorded an album in 15 days every 6 months half of them being covers because she was interested in making English music?

Without talking about the "so many GH tours"... whowww she just did one in 6 non french speaking countries! haha Why making an exception a whole habit ?

People are already debating about next year's tour without anything announced or whatsoever...does only her team want it?

Singing has indeed changed with her kids... she has been singing more after they were born than before. I guess that if her priorities really changed, she would have released an album every year. .. for her that's less work than being on stage 3/4 of a year...

People tend to forget that Celine has a very successful French career parallel to the English one and she records French albums in between which means a new album every two or two and a half years and that's probably above average in the industry for today's standards. I agree though that the recording of the album can't take place in such a long period of time because as some of you mentioned the songs will sound dated before the release

There's nothing more I'd like Céline to say than "yes, OH comes all straight from the ANDHC sessions and is filled with ANDHC leftovers", so I can run and make my own copy of the ANDHC album in a 2 CD set gorgeous edition More than 2 hours of pure joy :wub:

I'm a fan of Enya and she has no manager at all, and she got to become one of the biggest selling artists out there without anyone managing her . She herself is the manager, she, her lyricist Roma Ryan and her producer Nicky Ryan are a team who are all together in charge of what they do, since the very first days of her career. It's just her and the record label, they propose and Enya decides what she wants to do. So it can work without a manager, why not?
